  • the who is timeless watch the documentary on the concert for new york with paul mccartney and all bill clinton can do is rave about the who's incredible performance.

  • Was Roger's hair really that orange - or just the colour process ?

  • Love it.

1964 - 1968 beats the hell out of anything since !

    I think this was 1965 ?

  • Proto-power pop. Killer song.

  • who's the fuck stick that disliked this?

  • @harmike17 - You're suppose to come up with a "witty" comment like: "1 person hasn't lost the good" :D

  • If Shel Talmy had Produced the next three albums,.....or Glyn Johns,... many say and feel the Who woulda been so much better ,..and i agree - still, it just wouldn't be the Who without The Who Sell Out and Tommy ,.....and the magic of "A Quick One' ,...the Who were unconventional and they took deadly career threatening chances ,...chances,..to make rock even more creative ,..and in the long run; better ! ,...and it's lacking today -

  • Rock & Roll!!!!Great track.

  • this is the original version?

  • @juan13579run This is the extended version. The one that originally came out was 4:03

  • The best Who album so much attitude, just wish their other albums had more of this energy a collection of great songs rather than the commercial/film soundtracks they released afterwards good but not a match for this masterpiece.

  • A strong classic from the very first Who album!

  • great song

  • @MusicIsDeadToday The mistake that all too many make is that they believe, false, of course, that hard rock means loud, or distorted, because years later music marketers came up with the label 'soft rock' to sell bands like the Eagles (pre- Joe Walsh) with guitars played without distortion.

Hard rock means the time signature of the rhythm to the beat is inverted. Rock and roll means 4/4 time. Rock means 2/2 time. It's not about "opinion."

  • You amuse @MusicIsDeadToday . This song isn't hard rock. It's not being played in an inverted (odd) time signature. This is straight up, 4/4 time music. It's rock and roll. It's not even rock, which gets played in cut time.

  • When I first listened to this album, this particular song blew me away. I was surprised that I had never heard it before. Somehow it didn't get the airplay it deserved. The pure essence of the Who!

  • *Yawn* This isn't even a b-side. How did The Who ever get a record deal? They wouldn't get on today.

  • @TruthAxe Come on dude this is rock in its infancy, hating on them just because they don't play the kind of music people do today is like hating on the Model T car because it didn't have a sun roof, heated seats, and a tv in the back. Doesn't make it any less of a car, nor would the modern car be here had it not come first.

  • You amuse, @Deanbass77. The infancy of rock goes back to the late 1940s and became fully recognized by the early 1950s as the six-string guitar replaced the oboe and saxophone as the second voice.

Anyone who knows music can find interesting, Ferrari-like arrangements of music at that time.

This song by The Who is horrible. Save a few songs (My Generation, A Legal Matter), all of The Who's songs until Tommy were horrible.

The Who plateaued at By Numbers and faltered after Who Are You.

  • @TruthAxe It's called being diverse, which is what, you know, good bands do...

  • @TruthAxe You're 47 years old. LOL

  • You amuse, @Khultan. If you don't smarten up, you won't make it to 47. HA HA HA

  • @TruthAxe the who is one of the greatest rock bands of all time they have influenced musicians from pearl jam nirvana foo fighters kiss aerosmith motorhead police bruce springsteen iggy pop david bowie cheap trick judas priest iron maiden jackson browne the clash sex pistols james taylor show respect for all the great music they have given us

  • Why is it that I only heard this on Little Stevens' Underground Radio on satellite radio? I'm 54, I've never heard this on commercial radio, not even the "classic rock" stations. It'a a great song. Thanks for putting this on, theseeker23. Jeff T.

  • the only who song i ever liked

  • Great punk cut that puts to shame the fake stuff that came a decade later--

  • Zero dislikes, mafakah. What.

  • fuckin class....cocky as fuck.....not bad for a track 46 years old..

  • @modsheff1 Man I love the pioneers too. Nazareth, The Who, Deep Purple, and the stones are friggin great pioneers man.

  • cant get enough of this!!!

  • The raw and youthful energy of their first album sounds as fresh as it did when it came out in '65...pure magic

  • Iggy Pop? Is that you???

  • No doubt one of their best early songs -

  • Oh ! never heard that ending before . this song was a always high point on the album as a 14 year-old mod. Such a treat to hear the full version. i must admit i cried.
