Always go for pottery first => irrigation + built 3 early cities = Giant population advantage when using the Chinese

Complete opposite strategy I use with the Chinese

I don't rush for crap

I get my population to 4 as fast as possible, then I have 1 science and 1 warrior, by the time i get one tech i'm at 5, and can either produce crazy or go science crazy. Then the key really is democracy as fast as possible, then NO ONE will ever catch you. (But first go to republic to make maybe 1 or 2 cities)

Thanks for the tips, I have the demo and the rushing horseback riding helped significantly in domination victory by 1100ad.

i came up with this myself now i know other ppl use this to...it can be risky though.sometimes the A.I. directly go for bronze and have an army ready b4 u attack.however with so many barb huts around u can rush the horsy's and get them to veteran or even get them infiltration :P.this works best with chineese,Arabs and Egypt(if u start out with the Babylon gardens.)and Greeks and Mongolians r the worse.
