Ouch baby, very ouch. I happen to be one of those lil ones...grown up now obviously. I must've got a little bit better in highschool though, since I made IMEA all-state honors 1st chair alto II 2 years in a row... I guess I didn't know kid roles in high school musicals were so cutthroat... or so worth commenting over...
The kids don't suck.. That's mean. They're kids. What do you expect. Kids just have to be cute to make it in a few local theater productions. Judge them when they get a little older, and I'm sure the ones who really love musicals will do just fine. Oh, and a note for Annie: A little too pretty for this part, have courage not to hide behind your voice.
You'd be surprised cuz now that they've grown up, most of them were all-state musicians in highschool... The youngest is a senior in HS now, and was ranked 1st Chair Alto II in IMEA
Buffalo bill gets to sing for a reprise of " There's No Business Like Show Business", and depending on the director's vision.. Some ensemble parts

They do NOT "suck".
Mayby they arent as good as you expected them to be but they are just growing kids that can sing well.
