  • after watching this, I'm wondering lets say someone stops using minoxidil for a couple months, then restarts... would you return to the way you were prior to stopping?

  • @TagTeamMusic1 it would probably take about 6 to 9 months of stopping to lose all that you gained.

  • @samlammd well, i guess what I mean is, if you actually were to lose all that you gained, would you be able to get it all BACK if you start using minoxidil again?

  • @TagTeamMusic1 no, once it is gone, it is gone. don't stop.

  • @samlammd i see, thanks dr

  • @TagTeamMusic1 welcome. :)

  • how about the testosterone doc..?

  • @akonaGudni10 don't know if testosterone supplementation would cause hair loss if that is what you mean. at high doses i believe it could.

  • how can i fossilies have any product that can i use for it doc

  • @akonaGudni10 don't know what you mean here.

  • Finasteride (Propecia) seems quite dangerous?????

  • @bannanachops i think it is very safe imho.

  • @samlammd thanks for rply.. :)

  • did u mean doc if i have no fossils is impossible to grow my hair..i am asian doc :)

  • @akonaGudni10 yes, if there are no follicles there to begin with, then you will not grow hair there.

  • doc kirkland minoxidil cam help my facial hair grow coz iwant to use it..

  • i have no facial hair and i want to grow it,kirkland minoxidil can help me doc..?sory fir bab english :)

  • kirkland minoxidil can help to grow my facial hair doc..?sory for bad english :)

  • @akonaGudni10 the brand does not matter. minoxidil can help with facial hair if you have hair there to begin with. it won't grow hair in areas that you are not capable of growing hair.

  • I heard from a lot minoxidil user, it works really, but after a longer period of time, the new hair gets lost again. is that true?

  • @TheIncridibleOne yes and no. minoxidil does not stop hair loss, it slows it down so you will continue to lose hair if you are a man with male pattern baldness. however, if you stopped it after years of application, you will lose all that you gained or maintained during the time you were on it.

  • @samlammd thats mean, i should take minoxdil for the rest of my life?

  • @TheIncridibleOne unfortunately yes. hopefully we will have hair cloning in the future so you do not have to, but you have to now if you want the best chances to help you.

  • doc im now using minoxidil topcal solution. ive been using it for a week... when will i see hair regrowth coz now i noticed that my hair is still thinning?

  • @dianawapooh typically in 3 to 4 months or sooner. you can have increased shedding after the 3rd to 4th week and that is typically normal, indicating hairs are going into a growth phase. also, if that shedding does not occur, you should be fine too.

  • thank you very much doc

  • @dianawapooh you are welcome!

  • @samlammd doc i forgot to ask 2 more things.. can i use 5%minoxidil topical solution for frontal hair? and is it better to use higher concentration or just the 5%? sorry im asking too many questions. its just that im in a panic mode right now cos i reallly dont want to lose my hair...

  • @dianawapooh yes, it works just as well in the frontal hair. there is no higher concentration than 5% in the U.S.

  • @samlammd thnx very much

  • @samlammd

There is no higher concentration than 5%...in the U.S. Those last three words have me interested. So there are higher concentrations available in other countries?

  • @TheShockMaster not that i am aware of.

  • @samlammd yes, rogaine works on the entire scalp. the reason that the directions say only for the crown is that is where the FDA approved it for. it can be used equally well across the scalp. when doing so i typically recommend to triple the amount to cover the area. there is no higher percentage than 5 in the U.S.

  • Thanks for posting.Detailed and informative. I didn't know that an application of Minoxidil works up to 20 hours.

  • @323Cyclist this is a bit anecdotal. there is no hard science behind it. still recommend twice a day but if you miss a dose then once a day still provides excellent coverage.
