  • You do know they run these low on oil.

  • I could of used that bug engine...:(

  • WTF?! Who are those morons, applauding after some dickhead has blown an engine? Wow, what a performance, hail to thee, master of senseless destruction...

  • Kinky stuff---abusing an engine...

  • Not exactly a blow, more like a seize.

  • KAFERS LIVES ON WORLD WIDE

  • " What happens when redline a VW engine for over 10mins?? " NOTHING !!! what should happen ? its a VW ! no shitty Jap rice burner... do that to a honda and show will be much more interesting and ending a lot faster

  • not impressed

  • It just seized, didn't blow.

  • cant kill a vw engine

  • Sounds like the Engine ran out of oil and Seized.

    i still like Volkswagen too.

  • Screaming cool!

  • they (and you i guess..) really watched ten minutes of this? over ten minutes?? and its fixed so you can see it again? did you pay to see this? yes its pretty simple video but still theres so much id like to ask..

  • German work? It runs for a long time just because it produces horsepower no more than a lawnmower.

  • @elb416ebs380 ill give you an example why German cars differ from others, not gonna name names but here:

    -Unamed 4.6L V8

    -315hp & 325ft lb

    -0-60 in 5sec

    in comparison with:

    -BMW 4.0L V8

    -420hp & 300ft lb

    -0-60 in 4.9sec

do you get what im talkin 'bout?

  • @deemoIII You kinda just demonstrated that the BMW weighs less. Power to weird ratio anyone?

  • @deemoIII exactly my point!!! plus more reliable too!!! imports>domestic =3

  • @deemoIII I take that "unnamed" 4.6, tweak it to produce the same numbers as the BMW, then put it into a BMW chassis, it'll produce a lower 0-62/0-100km simply because it would then produce far more torque.

Your comparison is somewhat laughable, simply in that the chassis in question were left out (engines can't accelerate without a chassis) and the German motor needs significantly more expensive maintenance, (let's leave out BMW omitting a dipstick these years).

  • @deemoIII best comparison -

    holden/Chev V6 3.8L

    vs

    BMW 528i 2.8L

the bmw body is heavier and engine is smaller but is still faster to 100

  • @deemoIII 2 different beasts cant even compare the 2

  • @deemoIII why dont we compare the ford 4 valve 4.6 (unnamed) 390 hp and 390 torque 0-60 in 4.2-4

  • @deemoIII tbh bmw v8's are really temperamental what with headgasket failures, timing chain stretch etc etc the american v8's are much stronger and robust.after all they have been using them forever

  • @deemoIII They can run at a higher RPM- thanks to better engineering and balance.

  • How clever!

  • woohoo go the veedub nats. Going to be a big one this year

  • it just stopped, after it cool comes back to work perfectly again! Hou do i know that? I did it myself with my wv, and with my motorcycle Rx-125 yamaha 2 time engine.

It get weak, smokes, but after cool down its just like new again.

  • fuckings idiots wtf is fun with killing engines.. go and find a rope and hang you in that. i whould laught a lot of you then.!

  • i could not agree more. as a mechanic i hate morons that do this shit !

  • sorted tx caka :)

  • Brun or burn ?

  • do that while in the car and watch that magnesium block burn to the ground seen it happen many times it happens before it seizes in most cases, there was no stress on this motor other than itself. this test is not real world application unless to show a crowd that the engine will rev till it blows a rod then rebuild it and do it again like every other engine the reason its cheap to rebuild is because vw engines were not that popular back in those days and still today parts are easy to find cheap

  • the stock connecting rods are a very high quality forged steel and capable of supporting something like 4 times the original HP (w / stock hardware ) and at higher RPMs than this stock engine could reach. The small single valve springs will float and limit the RPM (or break). Probably overheated and seized the cylinders.

  • shame didn't do a 2nd half and take it apart to see what failed, i would think heads cranked piston rings fryed, con rods tighten down on crank

  • they should run that on nitrous

  • Same thing happens after just two minutes with a Ford motor.

  • u moron go look hat tyafry death of the 250xflow it seized and started the next day so dont talk shit

  • over 10 mins for a bettle machine thats great

VW have a very good engines

  • далбаебы, убийцы мотороф!!!

  • mindless

  • @MrSiddeney

    I quite agree.

It does atleast show the tight quality controlls by German car makers Volkswagen that their engines can withstand up to ten minutes of full throttle.

Its still a pointless excercise and the waste of a good engine.

  • how sad

  • What is this rubbish? It has only over heated and got a bit tight! VW do not make better engines than any one else!

  • Ok, so also Mercedes does not make better cars than Daewoo? If not, wheres the difference?

  • @TheMCMXXL price is the difference thats about it i guess oh and the mercedes looks better

  • Boooring !!!!!!!

  • its a forced air cooling system on that engine

the reason it dies is because it runs at overrpm all the time

  • K, It's air cooled DUH! Under normal conditions the car would be moving and have cool air flowing past it....not sitting in the bed of a truck blocking even a breeze. Good little motor :D

  • It didn´t had any load on it, put some load and then try it again...

  • Just add a can of Dura-Lube. Then it will run again.

  • Why can't people do an additive test instead of just blow up an old engine. At least we could see if those things work for real. I'd be glad to buy a bottle or two of Duralube or Prolong or Slick-50 for anyone looking to blow up an engine, and have them post a video of it here.

  • Wow, I thought I lived in a redneck town.. haha!

  • you can tell when the oil started to overheat, engine slows down due to increased friction. it's all downhill from there...

  • german engineering

  • but depending on the year it might be made in mexico...I want a vw thing!!!!

  • @Fabscher19 possibly. those "trabbits" were made in the usa in pennsylvania. they were literately garbaged out and made cheaper suspension wise and interior wise so the americans would like them in comparison to the inferior cars built in the united states. hard to say about the engine , could be german, or mexican, still better than usa - sad but true

  • That's pretty impressive, really. Don't those engines have a redline of 4500-5000 rpm?

Probably with a larger oil cooler it'd have lasted longer before it siezed up. But then again, you'd be betting odds against spinning a bearing or fracturing one or more rings in either case.

    Sturdy little engines. Win :)

  • German work! u need a long time to destroy.

  • How much is a "few bucks" you fucking idiot. that shit could range from 5 - 348958345893246

  • man not knowing must have really wrecked your day.

  • It's a MOTOR BLOWN CHAMPIOSHIP!!! this motor NO HAVE OIL!!!

  • no shit...

  • ...and to Poster "Tttp7", there's no radiator cause its an AIRCOOLED ENGINE ya jackass!!!

  • i find it amazing how ignorant people are about these engines, no they dont need a sealed engine compartment to run properly and no it did not over heat from not getting any fresh air over the fins and yes they do make rev limiters for these carbuerated engines, it simply over heated running it at red line too long and the oil got too hot and broke down... and like someone else said, let it cool down 9 times out of 10 it will start right back up!...

  • ma certe merde ke si divertono cosi li fanno in laboratorio ???

  • Oop's i ment it will still run! :)

  • It will still fun!

  • i want you to give back the 2 min of my life i've wasted

  • hw cum its nt limiten! is it a diesel

  • rev limiters are usually only a current affair with electronic fuel injected cars. this one is probably carburetted

  • no its just carbed

my 03 f350 hit rev limiter at 3600 rpm...

  • thats wot i'm thinkin. how the fuk did i end up watchin these vid's of engines blowin up. good crack tho lol

  • its fun

  • it burnt the bearings from heat & no fresh air blowing over the fins and fan

  • I cant believe how many videos are on youtube of engines being destroyed. how did I start watching them anyways?

  • Tough engine. Is it a 4 cylinder?

  • nope.. 11 ;)

  • Comment removed

  • maybe it just overheated ya know no air going to radiator unless it had a fan... so fyi

  • Comment removed

  • No it doesnt need a SEALED compartment, how else could they run them on dune buggies?!!! think about that!? Youre a dumbass too!

  • Holy shit your stupid, its and AIRCOOLED ENGINE!!!

  • Ganz toll!

  • at the end it make like the real VW sound

  • What finaly broke?

  • Looking at this I know that The Human Race is doomed.

  • gone..

  • ke pendejos!!!! imbeciles!!!

  • ok ok

  • I've done this. the funny thing is its not dead! they'll start again after they cool down. If you get those magnesium alloy engines hot enough the metal itself will ignite

  • +1 lol!

    It'll start again...

  • Vorsprung durch Technik!......Wait a second that's Audi...sorry!

  • I think a auto tech teacher of mine did this one time to try to rebuild, he was a funny guy ;-)

  • What is the reason for this?

    Destroy and then rebuild?...

Poor VW Engiene .. has to go trough hell.. :(

  • Entertainment!

  • instead of trying to kill engines and then repair them(wasting 2 min of peoples time by putting it on here), why dont you invest in a tripod for your camera, or some pills to steady your hand?

  • LOL, OWNED!

  • HAHAHAHHA@!!!!!!!

  • applause

  • looks like some kind of red neck convention...

  • i though rednecks lived in US not down under...

  • yes we do have them here in the US, i just figured it was a worldwide thing like aussie red necks, japaneese red necks and so on...i need to get out of my trailer more...ol mick dundee wasnt he a redneck?

  • @deemoIII Rednecks live EVERYWHERE

  • @deemoIII True, true ...

  • put a stinger on it and those lil luffewaffles can take a beating i know of one that i ttok apart had barely ne material around no4 cylinders exhaust valve ran good actualy sounded throaty lol

  • Your mostly incoherent post has made me realize I've been wasting my time all these years by using punctuation.

  • you suck

  • wow is this what passes for entertainment round there? haha

  • haha, that's exactly my thoughts

  • "Ok folks, that was exciting, now that we have blown up the engine,we are going to set the car on fire, doesn't that sound like fun"

  • Yes... wonder if they get excited plugging a electric kitchen to max heat and see how it burns

  • man, I was hoping it would start spitting 1,000 degree hot oil on everyone, and it throwing rods that impale people

  • Let it cool for ten minutes and it would probably start and run fine?

  • "I was expecting something to blow off." Oh well! so was the fence wire supposed to keep pistons, heads, and connecting rods from decapitating people??

  • captain I think she's gonna blow I'm givin' her all I got captain.

  • its a beetle 1.5L or less(could be 1.3 or even 1.2)mounted at the back of the vw ute, fully functional but not connected to the drivetrain

  • 6500 RPM? Was this a 1.8L ?
