Whoever said that student pilots need to make full stop? The idea is to do stop and go or else the runway would be very busy. The other thing coming from a Cessna 153 low wing aircraft, the tendency for low wing aircraft is to glide at least I noticed on my first looming mending. So you just got to that let it go and it will land sooner or later.
I'm only 13 and I've done a bunch of solos... I just can't get my actual liscence until I'm 17 in Oregon my first solo landing was way worse than that so good job! (:
You kidding me? that looks like fun. Days with clear blue skies and calm winds are rare. The more experience pilots have in "bad" weather the better they become. As an IFR rated pilot, I look forward to days when the weather isn't very good in order to get some nice actual. That isn't to say that I don't have limits or that I would fly into a thunderstorm... that would be stupid.
no matter what, from the first landing as a student to the 20k hr left seat 747 due (or dudette) landings always need work. Some days, you can do no wrong and eggshell everyone one of em.. and sometimes no matter how well you set yourself up for success you porpoise it or screech in front of others waiting at the hold short line.. lol
good job man, looks like a solid landing. I did my first solo in a warrior too. That first time making it around the pattern and coming in on final is pretty nerve racking isn't it? haha
ah.. takes me back to my first solo landing. Scary as hell because the airport I trained at is suppose to be the 4th busiest airport in canada, in terms of landings and take offs. Lots of radio work and listening and traffic awareness is all I can say.
I think you can do it in 8 hrs of lesson. I did mine in 10 because I stopped flying for 6 months and wanted to make sure I knew my stuff before I did my solo. Be safe!
I don't fly a Warrior now, but the first 35 hours of my training was in one...I love the manual flaps, look how fast they go from full to 0 degrees after touchdown!
Not bad. If I ever found myself ballooning from a bad flare I would add a touch of power to cushion the comedown. I never flew the Warrior though. Just the C-152, 172 and Piper Tom (yuck).
Feathering a constant speed prop means to adjust the pitch of the blades so they are straight with the airflow and not sideways to it. This way, if you have an engine that is not powered, it will have less drag through the air.
the 1 dislike was the controller who didnt clear him for a touch and go :)

@aircraftfreak737 you must be 16 to solo. You might have landed it with an instructor in the cockpit but not only you in the airplane.

were you feathering your prop? or is that a camera illusion?
HickoryThornwood 3 years ago
camera illusion, for sure
it happens when the lens capture plane or helicopter.
ptrss 3 years ago
there is no feather on a warrior
LaZyLuKe25 2 years ago
what does it mean to feather your prop? I've heard that before, but I don't know hwat it means
