  • everybodys hates chris brought me here

  • Tula Cossey! She's a transsexual not a transvestite. He/She had surgery and is now a fully and beautiful looking woman!

  • Didn't realize till now that the "girl" in this video is actually a transvestite. Hard to miss it once you know.

  • 100th like on the top comment

  • I don't know about some of the daft rubbish 'Such and such brought me here' posts.

As far as I'm concerned, a bloody ace song that is, well made, hard thumpin',

played by some kick arse musicians, brought me here. Anyone agree?

  • Looking up "Kraftwerk" in a German-English dictionary three decades ago brought me here.

  • The Power Station's "Some Like It Hot" brought me here

  • The fact that this song is just plain awesome brought me here.

  • I really like this video and the song, seems it got little play time on the radio, I do remember seeing it on MTV back in the 80's.

  • grace

  • Family Guy?! National Lampoon's European Vacation brought me here!!!

  • hahahah family guy brought me here too... this song is awesome

  • I love the beat of the drums, the best part.

  • THATS ROBERT PALMER in the "Priest Collar"!??!?!?! :O SMH..It never ceases to amaze me how I don't know/remember things that I Ought to know/remember

  • Family guy didn't brought me here

  • my dad brought me here :D

  • My childhood memory brought me here.

  • I LIKE EVERYTHING HOTTTTT

  • Robert Palmer brought me here

  • 1985 brought me here.

  • lol family guy brought me here too XD .... " we must destroy the power station !!" (star wars chapter)

  • Robert Palmer became a legend because of this song. Thank you Robert.

  • A sobering thought - three out of four members of Power Station are now dead.

  • @ulujain I know Robert Palmer is who else? Andy Taylor? John Taylor? IDK the Drummer

  • @bigmike7379 I checked all over the net and only Robert Palmer is dead that I could see both the Taylors are alive

  • @bigmike7379 Bernard Edwards - producer and Tony Thompson - drummer, are both dead too. Sorry, Edwards was never a member of the band, but he was their producer, etc. So, I stand corrected, two out of four are dead.

  • I have to wonder, how many people who saw the Power Station in that Family guy episode, (those born after 1995, and who were too young to not only remember this but didn't know that MTV once aired music videos,) got the joke.

  • Robert Palmer brought me here

  • What a clumsy solo at 2:34.

  • @vinylrecordcollector Clumsy?

  • thanks family guy

  • I like how I've been replied and none have been negative towards me thanks guys ¦}

  • @PivotMasterD2 Who the fuck is that?! LOL

  • @MrVault69 says the 20 year old who thinks he knows it all.

  • @PivotMasterD2 me too

  • "wedge take out the power station" Some Like It Hot And Some Like It When The Heat Is on BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM "Thank You"

  • this is kind of confusing because robert palmer has been around a long time by the time this song came out, so when did he become "the power station"? and why?

  • @clintmaxim Power Station was a 1980s supergroup made up of singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor (bass) and Andy Taylor (guitar). Bernard Edwards, also of Chic, was involved on the studio side as recording producer. For a short time he also functioned as Power Station's manager. The band was formed in New York City late in 1984 during a break in Duran Duran's schedule.

  • Well i wasnt born in the 80s this song is older than me I'm only 16

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO Please don't forget the amazing Tony Thompson on drums from the group Chic!!!

  • @vnessie1 had forgotten his name, thanks for the info, he is very good!

  • People who were born in the 80's would probably say that BlueKewne.

The younger generation would rather watch Family Guy that's where they get their old music fix.

Whatever happens in the 80's, Stays in the 80's and whatever happens in Family Guy, stays in Family Guy.

  • It's just a funny show millions watch sure it's getting old and it probably ran out of skits but it is or was pretty famous so stop hating on it jeeez... I's just Family Guy it might come back strong.

  • 1:10-1:14 is my favorite part...he looks a bit retarded, but the song is so great that i dont even care....

  • European Vacation....Rusty

  • Bless me Father Robert, for I love this fucking song!!

  • Family guy made me revive the enjoyment of classic 80s music ;)

  • only prepubescent boys and dickless losers watch family guy.

  • @GrigoriZhukov So you do right? Quit trying to be tough on the internet dumbass.

  • @SoulTrii nope watched part of a couple the first year whilst channel surfing.

  • @GrigoriZhukov I am not a prepubescent boy but I suppose you could call me a dickless loser as I am female and LOVE Family Guy but that's because you need to have a certain love for ironic humour which you obviously don't have, never mind.

  • @KIMLYPEN actually I do and while sometimes funny it's not that funny. As for ironic humour? heh far better lover of it than you'd guess and ironic humour they are not imho. But I cut my teeth on laugh in and Monty Python not to mention carol burnett and Hee Haw long before the writers of family guy were wetting their diapers. 8^) Not to mention years of service.

  • Rober Palmer was dressed in pastor's collar. LOL. Did he think that he needed Jesus? Great song, great badn. RIP Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson!!

  • I'm not a musician. Can someone tell me if there is only one drummer playing or if there is a second percussionist making that incredible slapping noise during the chorus? Thanks, I'm just curious as an air drum player.

  • @RavenlucJanie Roger Taylor from Duran Duran was brought it to do some fills on the drums.

  • This song was on my mind for nearly a month! And i did finally get it out! Then i come and hear it again! -_-

  • lol family guy. quite sad they blew them up though it was really catchy

  • i watched this becaus eof family guy

  • @powercheck1 same here ^^ family guy own all

  • the power station is a combination of soul and rock

  • this song was playing when i was gettn my lap dance last nite

  • @Gniady85 nice!!!

  • luv it

  • Who wants to watch someone shave their pits?!?!

  • @BlizzardBeaches I know right! I love this & I love the video but back then I thought that was for the sake of being artistic. Now I'm finding out that the woman in the video is a transexual Caroline Cossey. So the shaving of the arms and face were hidden messages. Just a little known facts.

  • I was always surprised when this video came out that it didn't get censored because of the animated female breasts and the nipples showing, but I'm glad they didn't, Love the song!

  • A masterpiece!!!!

Respect to the Chic and Duran Duran!

  • I did not know that Tony was gone...Robert is gone...Only two left are John and Andy Taylor...Andy Taylor is really incredible....He is an over the top musician...I have seen him live minus Duran and he is really incredible!

  • i love you John Taylor!! woohoo!!

  • The Power Station were a super-group formed by Robert Palmer (vocals), Tony Thompson (drummer with Chic), John Taylor (bass player with Duran Duran) and Andy Taylor (guitarist with Duran Duran). "Some Like It Hot" proved to be their most successful song though they also had a transatlantic Top 30 hit with a cover of T-Rex's "Bang A Gong (Get It On)."

The extended mix of this song is excellent. It definitely would've been a club hit at that time.

US Chart: 6 UK Chart: 14

  • i didnt know there guitarist was edward scissor hands?

  • @metalbassist13 HAHAHAHAHA!!! Thats a good one! LMAO!

  • tony thompson and robert palmer R.I.P. love the power station!

  • is it true that the model in the video is really a guy

  • @montykill The model was born male but is a beautiful transexual model Tula! she is truly an inspiration to me!

  • @montykill Yes it is Tula and she was born a male. She was also in a James Bond movie.

  • @gc3k ....yes, it very much was...we didn't give a crap about anything, no pc stuff, just rich punks having one helluva good time....god I miss these days...had a very beautiful girlfriend (spitting image of Emma Samms) and we rocked our asses off...but alas, time came and we all had to grow up....sucks

  • Mr. Thompson almost took Bonhams spot in the mighty Zep. Fell through....

  • Heard it on Family Guy; but that's not why I like it...

  • I am so fucking tired of looking up videos and seeing "FAMILY GUY DID IT"

I came here to remind myself of the awesome 80s damnit.

  • @BlueKewne Thank you for saying that. I came here for the same thing.

  • @BlueKewne not to mention, family guy blows donkey balls.

  • lando: ok, wedg take out the power station!

power station: some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on.

some feel the heat and decie- *BOOOOOM*

    lando: THANK YOU!

  • @gameguy1o

    *bows* thank you, thank you!

  • Power Station, nice times!!!!! They´re still being so great!!! Although they aren´t anymore Power Station...

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK THE ONE ON FAMILY GUY WAS BETTER

  • @decoamy I don't think so, Tim.

  • @decoamy How're those thumbs going matey?

  • I also find the video more of an attack on "society's" sexual hypocrisy and double standards. Robert Palmer's vicar does remind me of Bily Graham. We cut to clips of young people at 1950s Church led rallies, no doubt being told to resist the sins of the flesh.. While, to retired right-wing voting generals reading the Daily Mail, Caroline must be the devil incarnate - and a huge turn on ;)

  • I came here because of family guy.....thank god for it because this song rocks

  • R.I.P. Mr. Palmer.

  • how u gonna do it.....

  • He's dressed like a priest because the whole song is about sexual tension and deciding to act on it or not.... and for a priest, the answer must be no. What I find funny are the girls' outrageous 80's outfits and grooming. Do we really need to see armpit shaving?

  • @grammarreina yes... yes we do

  • @grammarreina Perhaps we do. Dont forget Caroline Cossey was, at the time, a figure of (ill-deserved) notoriety in the press. I'd perhaps describe the song as being about all our deepest compulsions and desires (not just sexual).

In which case Caroline agreeing to send up the shabby tabloid's perception of her gender reassignment is quite witty. Least thats how I read it at the time as a 15 year old. Reading rightly or wrongly, my friends also thought good for her.

  • omg..thanks to family for reminding me about this song!

  • Family guy brought me here.

  • WHY IS HE WEARING A CATHOLIC PRIEST OUTFIT

    WHY

  • Robert Palmer was the 80s!!!

  • You can see the Twin Towers in the background at 1:10

  • I cant believe that family guy has bought some of you here... Don't you have any musical knowledge or taste at all? I'm here because I love Robert Palmer and Power Station!

  • @honeyrumball totally agree

  • Like most im here because of Family Guy so don't diss it!

    In Griffin We Trust

  • Hello from San Diego, Lights are on, TV works (yay) We love the Power Station.

  • i mean.....dripping wet....

  • pussies song!!!

  • Say whatever you want... I'm here becasue i like family guy.

  • Rusty's dream :)

  • This is so freshing different!

  • This was actually a super group, short lived and a bit underated. The two best musicians from Duran Duran on bass and guitar, T Thompson on drums (session drummer who even played for Led Zeppelin) and the late Robert Palmer on vocals no less...bands don't come like this no more

  • @geomusicmove

If I remember correctly, the drummer Thompson, was also the drummer for Chic, and was considered one of the best drummers of the 80s from what I've heard.
