I've had ruby/sapphire ever since the week it came out, which is about eightish years ago now? Last year I finally found a shiny, and it was a Zigzagoon~ Despite them being common, I love the zigzagoon line and always cram them with surf, blizzard and thunder. <3

Thankfully, even though I wasn't expecting a shiny, I knew to come prepared-- false swipe, hypnosis, 70 heal balls, veekun to research if it had any dangerous moves requiring a masterball, and patience. I evolved it into Bellossom, and despite naughty nature and suckish IVs for battling, is my most treasured pokemon. :)
my brothers first shiny was a gold geodude which he found in diamond. both of us were noobs and he killed it, and later found out that it was a super rare pokemon. and he found a shiny taillow in his emerald which he has and a shiny rattata in his heart gold which he has! i have found 0 shinies without hacking. DX

an hour ago, i was chaining a sycther and got to chain 10 when suddenly a bagon broke the chain. I was about to reset the ds when i found out that the bagon was shiny. IT WAS SO WORTH IT.
When you chain, what's the odd to get a shiny? I chained nincada twice to 40-50 and chained snorunt three time to 30-50 aswell without finding any shiny :( (Although it could be possible that I mess a shiny sprakle without realise it..)
Btw my first (and only..) shiny were a tentacool with a good rod lol xd but that was on pokemon silver.. And I don't transfere anything to other game 'cause I find that it break the fun..

what`s good about shinies, it`s that it doesn`t matter if it is your first or your 9000th shiny, it continues stopping my heart when i see them (Marowak, Psyduck, Swablu(chained), Phanpy(chained))

* Also have shinies through breeding. Shiny percentage increases if one or both parents are shiny. Male pokemon are better for that reason because bred pokemon take after their mother's forms. All you need is a male shiny that's compatible with the pokemon you want shiny. If you can get a shiny ditto for that purpose, you're good to go, but you can't breed dittos, and I dunno if you can chain them.
This only works in G/S/C, where breeding with a shiny parent increases the odds to 1/64. In the 3rd generation games, there's no way to increase the odds of hatching a shiny, and in 4th gen, the only way to increase the odds of hatching one is by using the Masuda Method.
Breed a pokemon from your game with one of a different language game (like Japanese, French, German etc.) as long as the language of the games they're from is different, the chance increases to 1/2048.
The first shiny i saw was when I got my friend Emerald for her birthday and we were playing it. Shiny poochyena like, the third pokemon we found. Had no pokeballs though, obviously. Then I found a shiny bibarel in the safari game in pearl, and a shiny ghastly in pearl's pokemon tower or whatever it's called. The graveyard. And you can save in front of legendaries and talk to them, if it's normal, reboot. Repeat 'till shiny appears. :3

I have the storyline Gyrados, a shiny Krabby I caught in the Johto Safari Zone (now Shiny Kingler) and a Shiny Darkrai (got the members pass from wi-fi event)

an hour ago, i was chaining a sycther and got to chain 10 when suddenly a bagon broke the chain. I was about to reset the ds when i found out that the bagon was shiny. IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

When you chain, what's the odd to get a shiny? I chained nincada twice to 40-50 and chained snorunt three time to 30-50 aswell without finding any shiny :( (Although it could be possible that I mess a shiny sprakle without realise it..)
Btw my first (and only..) shiny were a tentacool with a good rod lol xd but that was on pokemon silver.. And I don't transfere anything to other game 'cause I find that it break the fun..
Anywhay thanks for showing me what a shiny sparkling looks like ^^

@EekWe On 40, it's 1 in 200 per patch, so 1 in 50 when you see 4 shaking patches each reset.
After 40, the chance won't increase so you should only enter shiny patches at that point and don't increase your chain any further.

But Then I used "Action Replay" The So called evrything you need for Shiny's >.> Deleted my whole game and my shiny freind AND My OP Non Hacked Jirachi :(

Haha. I can still remember my first shiny. It was a weedle I caught during the Bug-Catching Contest. I was completely freaking out, I didn't even know there were shinys - I thought the Gyarados was unique.

Shinies I found : Zubat , Zubat , Shinx , Scyther , shiny Chimchar, shiny tyrogue, shiny Horsea, Klink.
2 of them I got from friends, 3 of them ( Two Zubats and the Shinx) were luck, the other ones I got from chaining. (:

The first time I played ruby, I started with a shiny torchic. It took me a few minutes to realize that it was different from normal torchic because the color difference is so minimal. I then restarted the game with a mudkip thinking it was corrupted. Grrrreeeeat 8-year-old logic there.

Aha, I never caught shinies in my original games but I had the luck of catching my fist and second shiny in pokemon diamond(2 in one game!) The first was ponyta and the second was roselia but I stupidly traded that one away...But then I restarted my old games and caught other shinies. :)

@suicunetrainer My very first shiny I found was a Shiny Rhyhorn in Pokemon Gold (Not Heart Gold), then Shiny Unown in Silver (Not Soul Silver) and Shiny Voltorb in Crystal.
My first Shiny in the later games was either Abra in Fire Red or Rayquaza in Sapphire. Can't remember xD

* Also have shinies through breeding. Shiny percentage increases if one or both parents are shiny. Male pokemon are better for that reason because bred pokemon take after their mother's forms. All you need is a male shiny that's compatible with the pokemon you want shiny. If you can get a shiny ditto for that purpose, you're good to go, but you can't breed dittos, and I dunno if you can chain them.

This only works in G/S/C, where breeding with a shiny parent increases the odds to 1/64. In the 3rd generation games, there's no way to increase the odds of hatching a shiny, and in 4th gen, the only way to increase the odds of hatching one is by using the Masuda Method.
Breed a pokemon from your game with one of a different language game (like Japanese, French, German etc.) as long as the language of the games they're from is different, the chance increases to 1/2048.

The first shiny i saw was when I got my friend Emerald for her birthday and we were playing it. Shiny poochyena like, the third pokemon we found. Had no pokeballs though, obviously. Then I found a shiny bibarel in the safari game in pearl, and a shiny ghastly in pearl's pokemon tower or whatever it's called. The graveyard. And you can save in front of legendaries and talk to them, if it's normal, reboot. Repeat 'till shiny appears. :3
