@Meowmies Actually, I must say that I prefer Cheryl's kind of songs. Even though, I am truly aware that MArina is a better SINGER (but not performer). I just love pop and Marina is more like Pop-Rock (what, to me, is very different from pop itself). Anyway, I believe they are both good or even very good, shall I say.

@spinalCJ If you're judging her by this performance: don't. It was crap. She's note perfect in most of her gigs, and anyway it's not all about the voice. Some artists are really bad singers but amazing songwriters. Personaly I prefer people who can sing, like Marina, but I don't mind as long as the material's good.

I say this about a lot of modern bands -if marina and the diamonds were in any other era other than this one, they would either a) not have got signed in the first place, or b) vanished from the music industry in a very short amount of time-

@spinalCJ Listen to Are You Satified, the structure in that song is really good, and if you listen to her lyrics she's not just an airbrushed airhead: she's opinionated and can pen a catchy tune. She also writes all her own music herself, much like the oldies. I'm not limited to this particular brand of quirky pop, I'm very open-minded with music and I like artists from all over the musical spectrum. Marina is a rare gem in today's current disaster of a music scene. Open your mind a bit.

@spinalCJ Funny you should say that, as I think Alicia Keys is a right chancer. She has a few good songs, but her lyric writing is exceedingly bad. As for me, I only open my mind to music once I've actually listened to an artist properly and find out where they're coming from and what their quirks are, which you've obviously not done with Marina.
