Imagine if 3dfx still existed, it could possibly make dual high defenition 3d graphics run smooth with high texture quality? but their main problem that made them broke was about bad management of money in their company. and what was the game at 2:57 ?
3dfx was brill but see when you think about it, they had thier own unique API aswell (glide) remember? In other words it wasn't an open API like OpenGL was so technically if you wanted the best outa the cards you had to use a proprietry bit of software, no doubt costing a fair whack, even though OpenGL was kinda supported although not as good as Nvidia so Im led to believe. They're not much better than Microsoft really when it comes to what they created. Not saying Ms was any better.
@LeKouz Also one more thing: There was this one racing game like 10 years ago or maybe more.. In the main menu, a video was playing, there was this crazy guy and a beutiful girl like announcing the races or making comments. (When I say video: like Phantasmagoria kind of video but just in the main menu) It was also a crazy racing game like this one, I think it was 2 CD's. Hope you know this one as well.. Thanks.
@LeKouz Thanks so much.. One more question if i may: this one will be really difficult. This is one of these old shooting - racing games as well but not megarace. The tracks were not crazy like this, just normal race circiuts, and the game was kinda hard. It wasnt shooting all the time, more racing, but a little shooting was there. And the camera was in the car so you could see the cars panel you were driving. Pretty old game, old graphics. 1st "Test Drive" era if I remember correctly.
I was one of the blessed employees to actually do tech support for 3dfx back in the 90s. When nVidia came in and took over, it SUCKED!!!! I've still got my 3dfx employee polo shirt and I will never get rid of it, or my old Voodoo cards. It if weren't for 3dfx, nVidia would not be worth shit.

I have an old 3DFX 4 MB (Inno 3D) card in new condition shape. i can even proove it via webcam recording... For those old cards you need an extra 2D graphics card since the first 3DFX cards only worked together with an pass through cable to the ordinary graphics card... The Banshee cards where the first that had both 2D & 3D at same card. i have one of these also, 16 MB Creative Labs...
The 4 MB card looks so cool with the big memory chipset & stuff. Iv thought about decorating my wall with it... ;0) As for the Banshee card i still use it on my 300 mhz AMD pc to play old DOS & Win95 based adventure games like monkey island & stuff in my laundry room... Off course i have famous Soundblaster 16 Vibra & Soundblaster AWE 32 soundcards as well as a Roland MT-32 Sound Module for hearing these games as they were intended to as well..... LooL ;0)

This is a reson, why in the LAN PARTY we ALWAYS see a pentium III with some 3dfx :DD some V3, and lots of V5 5500 :DD (CS, NS, DOD, ... ... ... etc ... ) and now is the year 2009, march.
Ive had Voodoo1 (even if it only had 2mb, Unreal ran pretty good), Voodoo2, Voodoo3 and Voodoo5. I remember how big of a cabinet you had to have in order to make room for the Voodoo5 card :D - of course, was totally worth it.
remeber when i first got a voodoo 2 gfx card from 3dfx, it was amazing now i was able to play all thouse nice 3d games in a high resolution and stuff :P. Later i got a 16mb voodoo 3. I also remember how many games back then was made for 3dfx (glide) and how they ran much smoother and was far superior in graphic compared to D3D and must opengl. Hitman codename 47 was jaw droppingly beautiful on glide while more ordinary in d3d, Half life was lagging in d3d while smooth as silk on glide. glide FTW

oh why my friend trew his PIII 500 Mhz in garbage because the power suply was broken .. he never knew there was a 4 4500 inside .. pluged on PCI slot ... :( looking this video make me think the instant i said to my friend "hey where your old computer?" :( the garbage truck had passed with it ... bneen crushed in the truck bin :**(
I did the great choice not my friend, i did went to a computer recyclage center gave old monitor of the 80's that came from 386DX computer and some old motherboard and stuff
somehow these glide games still look amazingly good. Need to put my good old Voodoo3000 16MB in my Quadcore q6600, 4GBRAM machine and play UnrealTournament in ultra quality.

Very good tribute. I remember my first Voodoo. It was called the Monster 3D. I remember that I got it as a suprise present from my dad.
The first time we booted up Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit and I saw those graphics.... I was stunned. Couldn't believe it.
It was great.
