Lisa is a girl who was used for experiments, through out the game you find out she is just looking for her mother.

@EPICFAILLOL She was a human that was used as a test subject by Umbrella. They injected her with the Progenitor virus. Overtime her body began to have a weird reaction to it's virus, and as a result she mutated into a monstrous form. Somehow the virus endowed her with the ability of immortality. She can stay alive even after getting injured countless times.

(every other test subject had died, when they were injected with the parasite.)

A bit later William discovered some sort of a virus from lisa, which eventually turned out to be the G-virus.
