That would be totally cool if what they showed in the video is REAL ! Unfortunately, no hardware or other manufacture has adopted paypal into their system so it become universal like Visa and MasterCard.
PayPal will probably become a 3rd leg in the credit card industry as it compete with Visa and MC. Its main usage is online shopping. Although the ideas demonstrated in the video could become a reality, it is no where near functionality.
I wish it was real thought. I liked the pay the beer.

I like Paypal, but that ad was pretty lame. Sorry, but someone had to say it. Nothing this ad shows would actually require Paypal, and most of it is just pure fantasy anyway. Don't expect to see Paypal on shopping carts... Supermarkets don't want you seeing the total cost of your order until check out. Same goes for Paypal on your refrigerators. The supermarkets want you coming into the store so you buy more than you came for. But the girl in the beginning was pretty cute, I will give them that.
