  • I dont live in the usa but a good idea

  • Ban smoking outside? What good would that do, when you all keep driving around in 7 litre gas guzzling tanks? No, I think people should be FORCED to smoke

  • telling me what i should do with my body fuck you NYC you damn assholes i'll stay in new orleans where we respect the rights people have to their own bodies

  • JUST BLAZE

  • In parts of Tokyo it is illegal to smoke in ALL public out door areas but it's ok to smoke inside most establishments lol.

  • We got a ban like that in Holland. But nobody cares, all the ash trashes are still there.

They are going to forbid coffeeshops to sell weed to foreigners, by introducing the weed card. So foreigners need someone with a weed card to get weed.

  • no, never!

  • and to imagine the big apple used to have character

  • I don't like cigarettes. But let people smoke outside for crying out loud. There's more pollution to breathe in from passing cars than some smokers huddled outside.

  • smoking should be forbidden just like the drinking and all that

  • @PemtiumVideo: Screw that. Just because you don't smoke or drink doesn't mean that other people shouldn't. Regulating your own personal taste is sick.

  • @PemtiumVideo And this is because of ppl like you if there is genocide did you knew that?

  • @QCBEC yeah i know, never the less it does not mean its truth, go to play with your weed hippie trash : )

  • @PemtiumVideo I aint a hippie and id rather smoke weed then cigaret

Did you noticed that the anti drug ads of 1970-2000 were talking about weed killing braincell and other crap

Now the anti marijuana ads of our day only talk about addiction

The more it goes the less they have argument to keep it illegal

Talking about addiction i am both a cigaret and weed smoker i can be 2 month without smoking any weed and be ok i know i already did it

10 hours without cigaret i wana kill someone.

  • @QCBEC i dont wanna insult your grammar dont worry, but man, i just dont believe you, i cant, drugs are drugs, and if weed is going to be legalized, you should make it legal just for medical issues, otherwise, it is a fact that it would cause addiction in the long term, thats all, and yeah i hate hippies : )

  • @PemtiumVideo Whats about cigaret cigaret that is fcuking impossible to stop and that fuck my lung and that expose me to cancer and other shit why is it legal and why not pot?

Trust me the cigaret addiction is so much more stronger then weed one and ive been smoking weed for 4 yeears now and im 17, ive been smoking cigaret for 5 years and i can hardly imagine stopping and it piss me off cuz i try but i always start back after few day even with patch and gum.

Why cigaret is legal and not weed...

  • Comment removed

  • @QCBEC Think..That's because cigarettes are REGULATED by the government. Additives are added to cigs to ADDICT, and it's ALLOWED, because money is being MADE. Pot will go the same WAY if it's legalized, there's NO STOPPING it being " REGULATED " YES- It will be packaged very pretty and nicely wrapped. It will be EASILY smokeed and guranteed to get you HIGH- BUT it will ADDICT YOU-GUARANTEED. People would RATHER buy something packaged because of convienience ! Legalize pot, it will be addictive.

  • @gblueslover2 Ehhh tabaco plant is toxic marijuana one is not lol it has toxine but none that damage you as much as tabaco one and yes gouvernement put shit in it to sell it but hey

Personaly if it become legal i will grow my own XD ive got the seed i used to grow some but i had to stop because it made my appartement smell too much but if it become legal trust me im never gonna be out of weed again.

  • @QCBEC regular (natural tobacco) is somewhat less harmful than manufactured fopr certain. MOST people are lazy, especially those whom live in cities where thry go to the store for everything. 99.9 % of consumers DON'T make their own beer or wine, or even grow there own tobacco. So think about it, all this shit talk about "I'm gonna grow my own" will MELT AWAY with most people after a couple of years of legalization- Society will get addicted, WHY= the high will be BETTER w/ chemicals- EASY 2 see

  • @gblueslover2 No? because tabaco and pot is 2 different thing lol

i like to relax and weed is my tool to relax you know otherwise idk i just like to be in the mental state you are when you're high

And i know i would push it because i used to do it and i actualy like to grow plant.

  • @gblueslover2 Anyway i think non smoker should stop bitching about smoker that smoke outside and bitch about there air quality

Hey dumbfuck you live in new york city have you tought about all the polution? and you will blame you're lung being fucked because you're exposed to cigaret smoke once in a while for a period of 2 second?

Now tell you're self you can die from a lung cancer and not even be a smoker.

    Stop bitching.

  • @QCBEC It doesnt work that way. When tobbacco smoke enters a lung, it doesn't go away after 2 seconds. There's damage that oocurs and continues WAY after that.

    2 seconds ? LOLOLOLOLOLOOL Wheeewwwwwww!

  • @gblueslover2 I do not say the Smoke stay in you're lung 2 second you dumb bitch im saying you're EXPOSED physicly to the smoke for 2 second

LLOLOLOLLOLOLWHEEEWWWww!!!! what ever the fuck that mean.

  • @gblueslover2 And yes i do believe cigaret should be illegal meanwhile pot should be legal

Cigaret are real addiction not like pot one

Cigaret is just a way for the gouvernement to control the number of the population by killing them

If gouvernement would truly be for the people they wouldnt let us put what is killing the most in our mouth.

And did you knew that the bibble itself say that the tree of life is the marijuana?

  • @gblueslover2 Talking of you're gouvernement do you know what is the fed for? it is basicaly made to allow big company to pass over the law to make money out of the people it it the truth and even admited that they take on the failure of the system to make money out of us, they are right its not there problem and who blame them for having no moral.

Please for the good of the whole planet vote ron paul from canada.

  • @QCBEC If Ron Paul believes that it's OK for people to be high everyday or for cigarettes to be smoked anywhere, then I'd say NO WAY.

  • @gblueslover2 Then how do you even concider yourself as an american thats for the freedom

the real freedom is the one you get when you're gouvernement doesnt act like a day care with you and tell you what you should or should not do.

If you like it this way keep on going this way you stupid sheep but know that its because of dumb american like you if the world hate on america.

From someone thats not from america.

  • @QCBEC Look, just beacuse you think weed is the greatest thing on earth, and Ron Paul would let you smoke it, doesnt mean every thinks the same as you. I dont want smoke coming at me from all directions, especially in public places. I cannot tolerate "that" type of freedom. When another's supposed "freedom" infringes on another's space, then there;s going to be problems. Smokers will never convince me otherwise, be they weed OR cig. Smoke those thing within the confines or realm of your own home

  • @gblueslover2 So you think the only reason why i support ron paul is for the legalization of pot?

He is the only non corrupted politician you've got you idiot

And please dont talk of what you dont know you're talking to me like i was some crack addict that live in his "realm" like you call it you obviously dont know much about marijuana

I live in reality but you're the one thats constantly exposed to propaganda which lead a big part of your life.

In the bible they say canabis is the tree of life

  • @QCBEC Yes I do think that's the ONLY reason why you want Ron Paul. _ You "LOVE" weed that much. It's a integral part of your life, you need it, cannot live without it. You "just" gotta have it, all the time.

That's why Ron Paul won't win, because of people like you pushing his agenda, and he pushing yours.= POT

  • @gblueslover2 what a fucking bitch you are lol you act like i was a crack head

Please do not talk, when you dont know! =) unless you,ve been smoking pot for the last 10 years then dont assume what are the motivation of smoking pot its just for the pleasure of it when you're high you get more creative and it relax you as simple as that, and lets be honest i can go 2 month without smoking pot and be allright but 4 hours without cigaret and i wipe out.

  • @QCBEC Nobody gives a damn that you smoke pot or tobacco, just don't do it in PUBLIC, little bitch.> That's the point < And as far as Ron Paul is concerned, he can go live with you in your house, share your bed and be your butt buddy. LMAO

  • @gblueslover2 My butt buddy...ok watever lol

...im the little bitch you're the one complaining about you being exposed to pot and cigaret lol.

  • @QCBEC What a moron. Were BOTH complaining. You about legalizing weed and allowing cig smoke in public places, Me about the opposite. You deny this ? I've just re-read all your above posts to everyone, and you have complained !!! WTF is wrong with you son, Does the weed have "that" much effect on your memory and cognitive abilities?? You haven't been complaining ? NO ? Re-read ALL your posts, you dumb shit ! OMG lol

  • @gblueslover2 The thing is

Who the fuck are you to tell me what not to do?

Are you over me? and even if socialy talking you would be, exemple you are a politician you remain a human like me and the fact you're leader of something doesnt give you the right to decide what every idividual should do or not

We are born on this earth free but then the gouvernement take over and make us go into there shit like it was normal.

and if you count blaming my typing on pot, english isnt my first language.

  • @QCBEC Don't change the subject to THAT, we've already had that debate- Why do you want to go BACK to it. "The THING IS" is that you've denied complaining..Try to STICK to answering that. I know you won't because you're a 17 year-old little punk. Now just WATCH as you skirt around the fact that you've denied complaining. Again, I could CARE THE FUCK LESS about your spelling, your cig addiction and your pot smoking pleasure. Don't go there- Admit you complained, admit it !- Goof !

  • @gblueslover2 im not changing debate lol am i getting trolled or you're just in period

That was my point since the begining

Nobody has to right to tell other people what not to do with a plant, its against an individual freedom that each of us should so that we could call it Freedom.

The media always make propaganda, lets say there a murder somewhere if they find weed in the dude room of course there gonna talk about it and its gonna be because of marijuana if he became a killer.

    You're a sheep.

  • @gblueslover2 you're assuming im a punk because of my point of view on life and the fact i smoke pot.

Oh and please dont laugh at me because im 17, you're possibly older but your fucking stupid tho.

And sometime i might get frustrated when i type which is what explain my previous comment.

  • Comment removed

  • @gblueslover2 you're the one that remove ur comment you got owned by the logic of what freedom is.

    thing that you dont have.

  • @PemtiumVideo Wow theres nothing wrong with hippies. Besides the point, weed smoking is not addictive.

  • @PemtiumVideo And there's no doubt that once pot ever did becaome legalized, Big Tobbaco would add additives to it to INSURE those folks getting high would COME BACK FOR MORE ! These pot heads whom seek legalization don't realize this, because they just WANT that HIGH- Be careful what you ask for, as the saying goes....

  • @PemtiumVideo and after that if you are running out of argument to shit on me and you decide to insult me on my grammar well i learned english from watching movie and playing some online video game.

  • That's the fare idea but it wouldn't work out very well...

You go out with a group of friends, some smokers some non smokers, which bar do you go out to?

  • When are the health nazis going to get rid of their cars and their noxious fumes? You can't smoke in public places, yet look at all that traffic in the background putting out all that pollution we have to breathe!

    Bunch of hypocrites!

Yet another attack on people's freedom.

  • thank you

  • Thank you!!!!!

  • I can agree on choise that it's good but then on this matter it's really about if you will harm others while doing so and therefor I don't think it shouldn't be legal to smoke anywhere other ppl is affected, like bars and restaurants.

Besides this smoking is harmful for you and most ppl want to stop smoking but finds it hard due to lack of pressure for example and this gives a good reson to stop.

Also separating ppl on the smoking factor is that rly something we need in the world?

  • I love how there's one woman in the back smoking lol

  • I agree!!! Now take your top and bra off and film a new PSA...

  • she a dumb little girl that will never get it... She thinks a lot of things are pathetic but look at the amount of views she has... How many people live in New York? lul

  • I agree with you 100% but banning smoking outside is a bit of a bit much.

  • im a smoker who agrees with you on this, when I drink I smoke more, i like to drink and smoke at the same time, why can i not be accommodated for

  • Sorry guys but I want to fuck her

  • Image that some common brand of water found to be cancerous. It would be banned from market.

How about cigars and cigarettes? Don't they cause cancer?

    Something's wrong!

  • @pedroarp At some point i agree with you and at some other i dont

They cant put it illegal because cigaret only bring 1 thing and its his addiction without it you become aggresive and the gouvernement would get so much shit out of smoker that got forced to stop against there will.

From the other point of view, you're right our gouvernement is killing us for money

But does that surprise you at all.

    LEGALIZE MARIJUANA!!!

  • Here's another idea...bann smoking, save resources used to heal those selfinflicted injuries, grow crops instead of tobacco, feed the world...?

  • shes hot.,..... hahahaah... people should be able to smoke weed everywhere...

  • im happy i dont smoke lol

  • Like most anti-smokers, you've taken exception with smoking in restaurants and bars. They got rid of it, you were happy, and now you're upset that people are smoking outside. Where should the smokers smoke?

Your solution doesn't work because you're still going to have smokers huddled outside because there will be great non-smoking establishments that everyone will want to try.

Get over your selfish, entitled opinions and desires. There's a world out there with hazards. Accept it.

  • The way you say 'matter' is so funny 0:55

  • let smokers smoke in the bars where they are the majority. dirty insurance companies are behind this draconian measure to maximize profits by lessening their costs and cigs being five dollars apiece eventually

  • it's not about the smokers, it is about the staff inside the bar. gotta protect the people who work there, ya know??

  • You know what I got for Christmas last year? It was a banner fuckin' year at the old Bender family. I got a carton of cigarettes. The old man grabbed me and said "Hey. Smoke up Johnny."

  • i really hate to walk behind someone smoking while walking... i try to walk around every time... you know..it sucks

  • I wish she didn't look so sexy while reporting. Very distractive.

  • How about Smoking streetsand non-smoking street. Heck, while you're at it, smoking states, and non-smoking states!

  • Its not a bad idea, but about half of my friends smoke. So we'd either go to a smoking bar, so the the other half of us have to suffer it. Or we go to a non-smoking bar and the smokers have to go outside. Not for me I'm afraid

  • Freedom of choice. The end.

  • Spell it as many times as your bleeding heart desire.

There is no choice without transparency but chance.

Where others see chance I see cost and if you take

something from me ... You will pay the price.

  • Vague.

  • Vague: not clearly defined, grasped, or understood.

No one can see past any choice they don't understand.

  • I may be a step slower to some people but to me, marijuana is a toxic drug for those who try to over come Dyslexia.

  • In Boulder, Colorado you're not allowed to smoke in your car while driving. If I were a police officer, I'd enforce that law if the person had kids in it...

The reason why they're banning smoking every where you can possibly imagine is because more and more people have a legal prescription for Marijuana.

  • We have the same Laws here in Melbourne Australia. I like it. as I know people that have to work doing reapirs in pubs, clubs, often being emergencies... and having a area full of smokers is horrible.. I say keep it outside in the fresh air. At least it does not accumilate in the one spot..

  • I disagree with the resident. I think the current smoking laws are just fine.

  • i hate cigarette smoke, it smells like crap, makes me smell like crap, and it's downright unhealthy. You wouldn't let someone get away with spitting tar in your face, so why let them get away with putting it in your lungs?

  • do you drive?, that aint bubbles coming out of your exhaust. the electric ur comp is using was most likely produced burning coal. why do you get a license to pollute my air and my lungs?

  • smokers aren't burning coal, they are burning toxic chemicals, driving has a function, smoking does nothing, it just makes you ill, no benefits

  • driving isnt necessary it jus makes your life more convenient, smoking makes my life convenient.

  • When smoking is banned, you have to deal with walking through it for 10 maybe 15 seconds tops, where as if its allowed in the restaurants, the employees, and patrons have to deal with it for from 45 min. (customers) to 6,9, or even 12 hours (employees).

Some times the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

  • im sure the slave owners in the south wouldve loved that excuse, im sure some other fascist could use it though.

  • careful! or something worse than a secret sex tape of the resident exposed-a cctv footage of her chainsmoking on the sidewalk!

  • TYT - had a list of the 10 most hot women on U Tube - and U didn't make the list - U was ROBBED

  • Ohh the resident, i've always supported you in every way but not this one, where would T.S. Eliot's The Wasteland be without cigarretes? This is horrible and discriminatory!

  • Smoking ban in bars and restuarants? Ha! Land of the free my ass!

  • You have to walk home every night, Lori? Geez, that sucks. Isn't that dangerous? Maybe you should get you a bike.

  • fit fit fit fit fit

  • What happened to capitalism? You know the part where people choose to open businesses and run them the way THEY wanted and offer goods and services to people (and employees), no one forces anyone to do anything in this country except cater to the politcally correct mentality, in every situation... (gay marriage, non smoking laws, religious concerns, health care for illegals etc...)

I believe this country was founded to allow people to do their "own" thing not other peopls, wont be long now..

  • i totally agree with these points you make. there is, however, one problem with allowing the bars and restaurants to permit smoking, and that is the problem for employees.

some will just say "oh, too bad, work somewhere else if you don't like it!!!" BUT there would NEVER be enough smoke-free workplaces for restaurant workers to find employment, if they wanted to work in a smoke-free establishment.

  • hint, dont work in restaurants. u needing a job is no reason to infringe on private property rights. go work somewhere else for less, welcome to capitalism.

  • i lived in NYC for about a decade, during which the smoking ban was introduced. the crowds smoking

outside of the bars made my life a living hell!!! their smoke would come up to our windows, and the NOISE these people created up to and PAST 4 AM EVERY NIGHT, was brutal. man, i don't know what the solution is!!! i loved your video though. THANK YOU!!!

  • hmmm...really appreciate ur efforts towards educating ppl who are into drugs and shit...besides one needs a gorgeous like you to make them listen to all this cuz otherwise..they dnt care :)

  • The whole anti-smoking thing started because of OSHA - that people who worked in bars were being subjected to too much second hand smoke. The first anti-smoking law was in a bar/restaurant - you cant send the smoker back in there.

  • you are losing visitors baby... anyways, i still love your videos..

  • there are two people smoking in this video right next to you, lol

  • you could choose to walk down the other side of the street?

  • Give me a break. Walking through a cloud of smoke in an open air environment isn't going to harm you or make you smell more than the car smog that your walking though for other 99.99% of your time.

  • Build a bridge and get over yourself. A little smoke is not going to hurt you. Surely you have other more pressing problems than having to walk through a cloud of smoke. And for the record, I'm 60 and have never smoked.

  • hahhaa, a woman started to smoke on the sidewalk in the middle of your video!

Thank for being informative; I wouldn't know that was going on with out you! thanks.

  • Fight for the right to pollute the atmosphere with noxious fumes. It's your right.

Not got healthcare? Great, you too have rights. You have the right to smoke and give yourself cancer and then die without paying your debts!

You also have the right to vote for a party that makes this mandatory.

Go for it. Fight for your rights, people.

If you're ironically challenged, you won't understand any of this.

Being an American is great isn't it?

  • Lmao. Smoking to Muslim women. It's amazing how topics change and what they change into lol

  • i disagree. smoking should be outside not in. we have that law in california and it works for us, even in the downtown area in san diego its not too bad.

  • How about "no burn days" when the air quality is poor?

  • It also might help if businesses were given some sort of deal on air purifiers. That way you could still do what everyone loved in the 80's and 90's but have clean air in the process.

  • Muslim chicks are hot when there not covered up. I've dated a couple of them. They are very sensual. Muslim woman often talk bad about Muslim men including there own families....abuse and 7th century thinking. They love American men.

  • They know American = Freedom.

I hope it stays that way, too.

  • I like pusch up

  • Hi I like push up push

    I like push

  • this girl is hot, shame the girl who uploaded the video is a yellow cab driver

  • She's a Muslim?

  • What's happen to You With the Mosslims :] Sick of Muslims ?

  • WTF is a "Mosslim"? A new type of fungus?

  • you just can't please anyone these days.

  • disagree, good on NY for banning it, love it. It wouldn't work in small towns where there is only one bar (where I went to college) so yeah bad plan I say ban it on sidewalks too. Screw smokers

  • Smokers are already getting screwed

  • go phuck urself, hope u die of lung cancer.

  • To tell you the truth, I dont really own a Hummer. I just wish I did. Hummers are so cool!

  • I just like driving my yellow H2 Hummer better than trying to walk. I am not worried about carbon monxide.

  • So, if Denny's wants to keep as many customers as it can, then there will be a non-smoking Denny's and a smoking Denny's? And if smokers and non-smokers are friends then, chances are, they end up in the non-smoking restaurant. (a considerate person considers the fact that a smoker can inhale fresh air easier than a non-smoker inhaling smoke-filled air) And the smoker(s) still have to go outside to smoke.

  • Why don't you drive a car home? You could get home alot faster.

  • this is NYC, the only time you drive is if you are from 1. out of town or 2. from statan island.

why drive when i have dozen trains to take me home

  • Excellent points, res.

  • lol what you said is true.

But what you said also makes snese, therfore we know the City or state will never even consider it hahah/

  • Here's a choice, be the soccer mom you were born to be and move to the suburb.

  • Thank you, Lori, for another intelligent video, annnd.... for saying "passersby" instead of the incorrect "passerbys"! :-)

  • walk around the bar maby..?

  • banning smoking outside is totalitarian bosh, rightfully then you would have to forbid also driving cars on streets (it pollutes the air much more) or farting on a park bench (it stinks pretty well too). I know it's still in fashion to persecute smokers, but undeserving for a city of free citizens.

  • Personally, I don't have a problem with folks smoking outside.......... It's when they throw their disgusting cigarette butts on the footpaths that irritates me!!

  • hey ....... I know you do not have an ash tray in your apartment but do you have an iron and an ironing board by any chance ?????????

  • Lame joke.

  • thank you copoo

  • No problem.

  • I believe all this crap about smoking has nothing to do with ppl health, rather.. it has more to do with tobacco/pharmaceutical drug companies competing with themselves to highjack tobacco prices and sale high-priced useless anti-tobacco drugs that is absolutely useless and 100 times more harmful than tobacco itself.

  • Good Girl. Great report!

I think smoking IS the basic human right and ppl should be able to do whatever they want with themselves

I think all people against smoking and wanting to push ppl to get out of their homes in the cold or out of their way to smoke are hypocrites and against ppls basic freedoms!

  • I don't think the antismoking bars would earn that much success. To reduce indoor smoking it has to be banned altogether or not at all. If you're going somewhere with your crowd of 5 ppl and one smokes it'd just make awkward issue when everybody feel they're treated unfair.

I'm all-in for individual freedom usually, but in this specific matter I'd let the authorities choose the way for the city/country/world.

  • Jesus let them have a smoke, they're paying for it anyway, I don't even smoke and the fucking tax on it makes me physically ill, go with what she says, at least someone is thinking

  • mohaamd=mass murderer,rapist,lustful pedo,slave trader,robber...did u kno dat?

  • I just watched half a dozen videos of "The Resident". She really didn't say a single damn thing in any of them...truly awful. She says she's bucking the mainstream media, how? She says nothing of any substance. Example....with the health care debate she suggests we get the facts on the table and THEN decide. Wow. That's something. Really. How about discussing a few facts? How about highlighting the successful systems of other countries? How about THINKING?

  • Those tits scream respect me as a professional.

  • If we're so effing concerned about our health all of a sudden, how come there's no ban on eating crappy food?

Why don't restaurants and bars only serve drinks and food that are good for you?

Obviously, these are rhetorical questions, I know the answer, but it ought to be pointed out that there's no real concern for people's health when it comes to the whole no smoking thing.

It is literally that there are some people who don't want to have to smell other smokers, and those people vote more.

  • i remember the hazy days of yesteryear when movie theatres and malls were heavy with smoke and i dont miss it one bit plus Ive never been a smoker but I think banning smoking in all outside places is a bit much. Is it any worse than what the cars are already spewing at us? So itll get to the point when you cant smoke anywhere but your own home. Period. I like them to help people to quit but i hate them to force people to quit. Freedom gets eroded every day in every way. Lets ease up a bit.

  • i gotta start going to 42nd more, im usually around there every tuesdays/thursdays after classes i'll make sure if i do see you to get a hug :)

  • Wow, finally a Resident video that isn't anti-freedom.

  • Thats right outlaw cigs and legalize the good stuff .

Please Send Me the stand up clip

    over and out .

  • Uh, this city isn't interested in doing the best services it can do for its residents. It's only interested in separating the residents from their money. If you think NYC cares about what anyone in the entire damn Universe has to say, you have a surprise headed you way. NYC will never remove a law that generates revenue through fines. It IS the land of Satan!

  • you want to know what is 100X worse that those little cigarettes and the light stream that comes off them.....those exhaust pipes over there in the street that are attached to the combustion engines 10 feet from the side walk....great real and grow a damned spine people! second hand smoke is little more than a nuance one puts up with in a free society!

  • Nice one Lori! Finally a person who thinks the govt has no rights to legislate smoking in public places(BTW I am a total nonsmoker )

  • weird face at 1:21 lol

  • The big bad wolf really is the government. It is really just a cycle of lies... The governmento doesn't want people to get sick because if they do it means more stress on the overall economy, but y doesn't it just ban Cigarettes! all of it!! Nooo.. it still wants to make money off peoples' lives. sooo stupid

  • the tobacco companies make money off of it, not the government

  • u think the government has absolutely nothing to do with the tobacco companies? Companies wield enough power/money to sway anyone even the government. Plus.. tthis nation was partly found by tobacco revenue... c'mon now. don't try to make it like there is absolutely no connection you're smarter than that.

  • fyi drugs are illegal and they are available everywhere and it only cost taxpayers 25 billion dollars plus to do it. so yea make one of the most addictive drugs illegal (nicotine) and create one of the largest black markets and get no tax revenue out of it. your crazy to think making it illegal will solve the problem. id rather live shorter in a free country than longer in a facist state which is what you deserve.

  • I know second hand smoke is not good for you, but people like you come off a little bit anal and crazy. Just because you encounter a lil bit of second hand smoke you will not get cancer. Just stay healthy and active in your own life.

  • Great video

  • Hmmm let the patron decided. Okay that sounds like the best ex of free market. U make the choice.. except ofcourse if U work their and are inflicted to a cancer leaning environment and in todays econmy probably cant leave that job; dilemma your livelyhood or possiably your life. But then again the choice is yours : )

  • Yo, Resident! Can you do a singing video? I haven't seen a singing video in a while.

  • And then there's the people smoking on the LIRR platforms. Why cant the MTA ban smoking on all its property?

  • Wahh wahh wahh, poor little me. It's only in the past ten years or so that businesses all over the world started to introduce these "tough" laws to stop people smoking inside their establishments, this was done for legal reasons, so employees don't sue their employers due to breathing in 2nd hand smoke. Up until this point society was travelling along quite nicely as far as smoking is concerned. If you don't like it, tough titties. Hold your breath, wear a mask, or you could post a bitchy blog

  • I don't mind them smoking in on the side walk as long as they are staying in one spot. I hate it when someone walking in front of me is smoking and ash and smoke flying towards me.

    Ban smoke-walking please!!!!!

  • i hate when u walk with your cellphone and i have to listen to your whiny voice that causes me headaches, and when u wear the ugly purple shirt you like, hurt my eyes and faith in humanity. can we ban you b/c i dont like you. lets ban everything else the inconveniences you to. b/c all that matters is you being happy.

  • Ban spitting on the sidewalk too....

  • ppl die from second hand smoking.

  • The resident understands the free market!

  • I agree, and how soon we forget that a burning fire is the very foundation from which every civilization was ever built..good grief!

  • Here where youre coming from Res... but I think the problem with having smoking bars is that people who work there have to breath in the toxic crap. Yes they could work somewhere else...or in this economy, can they? Frankly Ive got little sympathy for people killing themselves slowly and willing to kill others around them. Smoke in your home. As far as you walking home? Id say the poor service workers forced to work in it 8 hrs a day trumps a few minutes walking through it, sorry.

  • It's a very interesting argument. However, I feel the public has spoken out and they don't want cigarettes in businesses. The reality is, those businesses have become public places.

As for those crowds of smokers outside, the poster PeachyKeen down there reminds me why I don't feel sorry for them - they almost never care about how they are affecting others. Let them smoke in their apartments or shoot it in their veins - I shouldn't be subjected to it against my will.

  • the reality is that biz is private property and he should have the right to run his business how he feels. your dont like it dont go there, and if the majority feel that way he should be out of biz in no time. if you think a biz is public property well i guess your a communist.

  • Should isn't a reality, it's an opinion. The reality is on private property and especially on commercially licensed property you have to abide by certain laws of the state.

I didn't say they are public property, I said they are public places. That's why those laws were passed. And recognizing that doesn't make me a communist. I hope you aren't serious.

  • That wouldn't work.

The people who work at the restaurants and bars would exposed to the smoke, and could eventually get cancer from second hand smoke. This means that they could sue the establishment, so the law is meant to protect them.

  • It was a bullshit...

If the bars and restorants owners have the choice of allowing or not smoking, almost nobody would chose to lose profit because in his bar smoking is not alowed.

People smoke and are addicted to it, and there is nothing we can do, the UN declared that tobacco is not harmfull enough to be ilegal, and until decades ago people didnt realized the dangers of smoking.

Now that people are already addicted the government cant do anything...

The UN screwd it all in 1961.

  • In UK the smoking ban is putting hundreds of pubs across the country out of business. I say that the pubs and bars should be given a choice

  • Another thought Lori... what about the rights of the workers at dedicated 'smoking' bars? I believe that the suits brought by workers is what led to smoke-free workplaces in the first place.

  • Good point for bars, however, what about shopping centres,
