It isn't saying that you shouldn't go to church, I think it's saying that instead of JUST going to church every Sunday and half heartedly listening to the gospel, we could do much more than just that instead of putting money in a basket by reflex, such as donating to charity personally, or volunteering. I am Catholic and I don't see anything wrong with this video. Very artistic. ^_^

I guess the purpose of this is that we should start worrying about the things that are happening in front of us instead of ourselves and how we all have to go to church all the time. If a goat is stuck in a well, don't worry about breaking the sabbath. The goat needs the help. This example is from the bible. Jesus said this. I'm not christian, but my mom has read the bible like 5 times.

"Church" in the biblical sense was a community of people...not a place/building where people are baptized or graduate from a cathechism class then given offering envelopes. So much money is used for the overhead of these buildings now that we have not been doing all that we can in the community. I agree with her...I would rather take my money and my service out into the community and serve people directly.

My question is...what does it have to be what if? Actually, why does it have to be one or the other? If you go to Church, you SHOULD be the Church, otherwise you aren't participating in the teachings of the Church. I agree but believe it needs to be both. This is so true, if you believe in God, you don't need to go to a specific place and think that's the only place you can go. I am religious and to be honest from the very beginning of Christianity churches have always been about power and money instead of the religion. It's a business if you really look at it. There's no one stopping you from believing in God, and you yourself is the only thing you need.

@charlie5231990 I agree. Molly does a great job of raising the question of "What If" the church looked more like Jesus and the early church did, instead of the American way. However, there is something we must realize about the church - it is a group of people that are not perfect (just like you and me), therefore it cannot be perfect. I would encourage you to find some kind of Christ-like community to get involved with. Study the early church in Acts. It's really encouraging stuff. :)

@charlie5231990 I disagree, I believe from the beginning of Christianity the Church was based on the gospel, considering Jesus established the Church after crushing the Pharisees and destroying the power/money centered Temple. Then the Apostles who had the direct gift of the Holy Spirit were the Fathers of the Church...Definitely not based on power or money there, given later yes corruption came and people thought it necessary to break off from the Church, but it was then reformed...

At the time it made me laugh, but it's grown into a philosophy of sorts for me now. Folks put too much emphasis on the unimportant details and that only leads to debate and inevitable separations where as here, young Molly is advocating acting on the foundation principles of charity, hope, and Love.

Most Democide and Genocide has been outside of war. The most killing governments of all time were ones that pushed "godlessness" actually. The hate of religion has been the dominate killer the past 100 years.
