  • I am so sorry about your loss. My sheltie before Smokey, Chip, was only 9 years old when he developed a nasty auto immune disease. I could not believe what the vet was telling me, that he needed to be put down. I was in California and did not even get to say good-bye or be there with him. It still hurts 2 1/2 years later. Smokey is all grown now, but as silly as ever.......

  • @hillsideoaks Sorry to hear about Chip, Shelties really get into your hearts don't they? Buttons was very special to me and I still think of her often. My current foster Gigi was almost starved to death when I got her. Most likely because of that she developed hemolytic anemia which is also a type of auto immune disease. The rescue's Vet said he only sees about 50% of the rescues survive longer than three months, but we either got lucky or the diet and supplements I gave her got her through it.

  • what a sweet puppy. i'm so sorry for your loss. my sheltie used to play with the mirror the same way. your video made me smile

  • I am so sorry that you lost her. She was so sweet and cute!

  • Thanks jooniperaphroditedee, Lisa and MichBBooger. Shelties are the best! MichBBooger, Pudding is a beautiful Sheltie (but of course, aren't they all).

  • I'm sorry for your loss.. the clip was adorable :) love the way she bounced around in front of the mirror!

  • I'm so sorry. My 13 year old Lassie looked just like Buttons when he was small.

  • I am very sorry for your loss. I have been thru it with Jooniper, my 12 year old sheltie who lived with a heart mumor for 4 years. Buttons is adorable!! I have 1 year old Sheltie, Delta, who still plays like this. It made me smile. Thanks for sharing. It is important to remember all the good times.

  • I'm sorry about your sheltie and I know what you are going through. Buttons looked like a great friend and I'm sure she will never be forgotten. My sheltie was 11 when she passed away two months ago. Its so hard to keep going without her, but I'm sure she would want you to remain happy and positive. Just think, one day you may get to see her again in heaven!!

  • My condolences on your loss as well. Hopefully we all get to meet with our beloved Shelties once we cross over.

  • I'm glad it was an old video and Buttons enjoyed 13 yrs of her life. I was afraid it was a recently video taken. I too had a sheltie who died passed away at 14 yrs old in '98.

  • I'm very sorry for your lost, when was the video shot? what happened to your Buttons?

  • This is an old video, spring or summer of 1994. She was 13 when she died of respiratory distress after developing a lower respiratory infection. Thanks for your concern.
