  • @Twe1vevRem..Why did you cut out that dope ass jazz beat at the ending of this song? You slippin' brah.

  • I still cry when I hear the 3rd verse...~Darcel Turner #thebrownskinlady

  • "words break your heart whether you in touch with that part or not" Deep...♪♫♥

  • What does he mean by the "flower that grows in the ghetto" metaphor? Who is the flower, what is the survival referencing? The only piece of this that I can't pickup.

  • @OldSchool9690

"Let's go, you know a flower that grow in the ghetto

Know more about survival than the one from fresh meadows

It got love for the sun, that's where I'm comin from"

I think the part that makes that line is the last sentence. Speaking on the fact that those who know struggle and pain generally have a great appreciation for, in this sense, true love. Just my personal assessment of the meaning.

  • @deimonhuntr1 as soon as you start to type in reflection in the search box it will say reflection eternal with a "T" at the end which should take you straight to the album.

  • @81toinfinity yea i cant get it i the itunes program, i had to go onto the site to find it lol, thanks for your help.

  • @deimonhuntr1 yea!!

  • I try to share real hip hop like this around my friends but they just dont feel it, its not basey enough or aggressive enough. People just dont know real raw music anymore, really makes me sad. Love to my dad for showing me what real hip-hop is x

  • I can easily listen to every last lyric he ever spits on a beat. His rhymes are in a realm of ease that I enjoy relaxing in. How can he be this genuine!?!?!? -"rhetorical question farley"

  • Its tragic when you wonder when you lost that magic- without understanding that you never had it! Lust is a b*tch! So is the love illusion built on anything from the truth. He is so real. x

  • amazing artist. amazing song. end of story.

  • How did we let them take this positive music away from us! This is what you call real hip hop! This type of music is what should be BLASTING the airways.

  • Started with romantic, then got to frantic, then things that normally small become gigantic. Now ya'll sinking like the Titanic, here come's the panic, being with you like a habit without you I cant stand it. --- love that verse. This song is incredible.

  • my shit. im such a fool for love....

    and i love it

  • fuck youtube promo and their introduction.... this ruins every song

  • This song just makes my day that much better

  • I'm getting really tired of people who obviously know good rap when they hear it bitching and whining about Lil Wayne. Fuck you all, just let me listen to Talib in peace.

  • Itz been years I have been a fan of Kweli and nobody pays attention, but could name every Gucci Mane track...music is steadily dying and only us backpackers care about it!!!

  • sticks and stones break your bones, words break your heart...

  • i wanna marry this song

  • I love this song. If it were me, though, I woulda switched up the drums a lil bit. Hi-Tek is still a genius though

  • the best

  • fodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • this is real MUSIC...

  • simply under rated!!

  • i feel like crap when people at school ask me what my favorite music is...it's a shame that nobody but 1 of my friends has even heard of a man named Talib Kweli. It's really unfortunate.

  • your a loser who cares who listens to what.

  • dude calm down all im saying is its a shame how underrated he is.

  • Those who listen to the garbage as entertainment have a perception thats tainted

  • It really is he say words that are so beautiful.

  • good hip hop is to be discovered. it's usually the crap thats always in your face.

  • @Arsenalisthegreatest I agree & it is really unfortunate but school them, we all gotta learn from someone & from somewhere...let them know theres more to hip hop/rap music besides Lil Wayne. this is concious shit thats timeless.

  • you are exactly right

  • @Arsenalisthegreatest you have too cjange the people you're talkin to ;-) i'm from germany. there are also just a few people who know him.

  • @Arsenalisthegreatest

I feel the same way. I'm a girl and I think it's twice as bad cuz most of my homegirls listening to Drake thinking he's hot. I mean I do listen to R&B like Alicia Keys and what not, but I mostly listen to this type of music. I'm a 90's baby so I grew up when Hip-Hop was still raw and real, these kids now a days grow up with bullshit music not knowing that it's Nothing compared to the 80's and 90's music. This shit is classic, unforgettable.

  • @Arsenalisthegreatest

its the same where im living

  • @Arsenalisthegreatest @Arsenalisthegreatest Well I know..and so do those who commented on this.. and we feel you. So either educate em' about him or forget em!

  • hes beyond a rapper man hes a fucking poet, hugely under appreciated music that the whole world should hear.

  • this album opened my eyes when it comes to hiphop back in 2000. i was 15around that time

One of the best album ever

  • you know a flower that grow in the ghetto

Know more about survival than the one from fresh meadows, It got love for the sun, that's where I'm comin from

  • i fuckn love this album

  • Women thrive on emotions, men refuse to acknowledge

So when we arguin nobody win

Words get in the way time and again

Sticks and stones break your bones words break your heart

Whether you in touch with that part or not say "word"

Words are weapons for the revolutionary

Used for evil make the situation very scary

Word up, but love is brave

It flies in the face of fear

  • This album is , in my opinion, a classic. Great beats, great verses. Talib spit his soul onto every track.

  • Beast poetry

  • Truely timeless song! 10 years later this song is still relevant and it will still be relevant 20 years from now! Great song and great album.

  • this album gives me the chills I bought it about a year or 2 after it came out when i was a freshman in high school I believe. i never gave it a good listen unitl my junior year (age 16) >.I'm now 20 and a senior in college and it is one of my favorite albums of all time (all genres) I miss real hip hop like this..this album takes you on a trip ..Damn i have nastalgia.

  • Oh my God... this dude is just too illy lyrical. Now this is Hip Hop at its finest. This dude implemented Scarface, yo hope for findin the one, and the different language of love and what it speaks in the same verse. Talib is like a Nas... his lyrics are so deep that most can't even fathom what he's speakin, ova the majority's heads. Love the philosophical poetry in verse 3. Talib is in the top 5 MCs of all time for sho.
