Getting rid of the poor would make the world worse. If the poor did not exist then the rich would not exists. If the rich did not exist then there would be no reason for people to strive to be successful/rich and no extra resources to improve the world.

It is with a sense of hopefulness that we would like to think that such nonrepresentational powers would be unsustainable, but they are more than themselves. Money is the power to bring the intellect and industry of those who do not benefit to serve the powerful. Humanity may not be intrinsically just, we may be only of the quality to dominate the other forces of nature and to live in a barbaric state of misery.
