  • Glad to say I have met Ricky a few times Here in Ft. Myers Florida. He is a great Talent a great Ambassador of Southern Rock and he walks the walk. We spoke of philosophy of all things, he is truly brilliant! I am one half Blackfoot and have obviuosly followed this band from the beginning. I admire them they have always given a good name to a good name...

  • THANKS FOR ROCKIN THIS SHIT I LOVE IT

  • If you're a band and you don't get down like this at least once during the night, sale your axe, and get the hell out of the business. I would not stay in a band, that does not throw down like this.

Get Down, Get Funky, and Let The Good Times Roll ! Have Mercy Pretty Ma Ma !

  • I burned up my cassette player listening to these guys while stationed in Germany. They brought America to Schwetzingen, West Germany for me. I really loved the banjo intro on this song. Sorry to see that they didn't do it live.

  • A greatly underrated band overshadowed by LynSkyn but I had more LPs of this band than I did of the former. Blackfoot really had a trio of great albums at this time and I'm glad the R Medlocke is still doin' the biz (even if it is with LS) but I'd love to see him with the other two surviving members of Blackfoot. However, I would not care to see him with the current form of THREE guitars. When BF left the 4-man set-up to include a keyboardist (for Siogo), that's when their days were numbered.

  • saw them in Edinburgh back in 1981...........fukn classic.

  • Its just great so be able to see live footage of the boys. I saw them play anytime they came to ohio in the 80's/ rickey toured hard solo after the broke up. still some great shows. what a talented singer songwriter and guitarist

  • I've been watching Blackfoot for an hour now. :)

  • Oh man this kicks so much ass but 2:00 just kills me, Rickey Medlocke would be the most awesome big brother...

  • @ptm5150 I had the pleasure of meeting Rickey Medlocke when they played Reno in 81 (Def Leppard was the opening band that night). He's a total class act, and is without a doubt, one of the nicest people I've ever met in the music business.

  • @GLDavee That is awesome!

  • SOUTHERN FRIED AC/DC..... FOKKEN LOVE IT!

  • i <3 southern rock

  • yeah I graduated THIS year.

  • i went to this tour and it ROCKED !!! one loud friggin show. rickey can sure work up the crowed, lets keep southern rock alive..

  • @timjessa1 I honestly don't think that will be needed, Southern fried rock is very hearty, and "hard to irraticate", kinda like the folks it comes from. in most of the country, it's not even on the "endangered list", and in some parts, it flourishes so well, It's almost INVASIVE! I got A patch of it growing next door In their teenage kids and it seems to be doing fine from what I can hear! So just keep your southerners "well watered" and everything will be fine!

  • it's good to know humans once knew how to jam properly

  • Jau baby jau

  • Southern Rock LIVE ON! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO ilovesouthernrock

  • so much ass kicking, so little time.

Well i'd rather be fishing, or at least just a wishin i was!

  • GREG T. WALKER....... NATIVE BROTHER! THESE ARE TRUE ROCK-N-ROLLERS!

  • This Rocks, and This Is The Only Way To Rock!!!

  • This is the best of southern rock!!

  • I WAS THERE and i will never forget this hot rock n roll night !!!!

  • kinda reminds u od sry

  • So fucking cool!!

  • Nasty nasty!!!!! I love them! Blackfoot always in my head! Jackson Spires always in my heart!!!! Rock on!

  • you can see that Medlocke did have 2 different guitars in Zurich, and did take his hat off for the second part.

  • im glad to see people still loving this band, i thought people forgot about them they are great.

  • This band didn't get the respect here at home that they did overseas....and that's a damned shame. To say that these gentlemen could rock with the best of them and then some is a gross understatement!

  • Smokin!

  • was at Knebworth UK 1985 and saw Ricky and the boys give what is still in my top 10 live shows ever, awesome!!!!

  • @slftb1 Me too, one top notch show and they gave quite a few bands a run for their money in those days

  • I was fortunate to help out at a show in Chicago. My freinds and I smoked some grass with Jam productions manager & Blackfoot rehearsed about 3 or 4 tunes right in front of us on the main floor before the doors opened. Ah, good times.

  • Was at the Newcastle Mayfair concert when we sang haway the lads which was put on the live album, think it was '83. Mental night and will live forever in this old rocker's memory.

  • Sorry mate, But the recording was at Hammersmith odeon and the Northern lads were behind me when they started to sing 'Oh were the lads Oh were the lads are we',ect,.On the live album cover look bottom left and i am 3rd from the right with long hair (which I still have). next to me(left) was my old lead guitarist stuart, then 3 along wearing the hat is my old singer Chris.

  • How very daaaare you imply the recording of ''HOWAY THE LADS'' (not ''oh were the lads'') was recorded in the soft shandy drinking south of England. It was the 82 UK tour and they did Newcastle before the Hammy so the lads behind ya were only doing what they did already. Check out Dave Lewis comment on back of album. I remember Medlocke saying ''I think we got a take on that one''. It sounds like we were doin the same shit at that time so respect for ya mate and keep rockin', rollin' & tumblin'.

  • Calling them a cover band is unfair to original members Greg T. Walker and Charlie Hargrett, and Bobby Barth who has been with them since the 80's. Yeah, I miss Jakson and I'm sure he'd still be with them. Too bad Rickey is off playing with that other "cover" band. Bottom line, Blackfoot is still a great band and is worth seeing live.

  • without Ricky in BLACKFOOT,there is no BLACKFOOT!!!!!the cover band using the name now should create another name for themselves!!!!!

  • molly hatchett same thing, not one original member left in the band

  • Dave Hlubeck

  • Love good ol' kick ass southern rock. So much better than that damn screaming metal of nowadays !!

  • @Ginzzo60 dont call everything you have listen out there by young kids today metal cuz i tell you most of it it's not real metal. american rock media have corrupted everything and now all kinds of shit are called whatever is trendy (nu metal ,screamo metal , gay metal ,whatever) . as for me there is only one kind of metal and it doesnt belong to this new generation. even blackfoot went heavy on their last album.

  • I was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida----The Home Of Southern Rock N Roll

  • man i must have seen these guys 6 times and they kicked ass i remember once when UFO cancelled last minute and Blackfoot played an extended set awesome

  • love their solos

  • Really hard, smokin' Southern Rock at its best!! There's nothing quite like it!! And these times, i fear, will never come back... :-((

  • @666MetalManiac73 yeah, and all us kids are left with the shit today =(

  • @666MetalManiac73

I feel that way too, but I'm from nw calif...they make me feel real local/loco...

  • We do a nice rendition of Train, Train you might like to check out at CalcaneousVideos. Blackfoot and Foghat are the two bands that got me to playing guitar in the first place.

  • please help - do you know some bands like Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet?

please no Skynyrd or 38 special. they are good, of course, but i'm searching for southern hard rock/metal

    thanx, man

  • Stanley Jay Tucker and Calcaneous might suit your fancy.

  • thanx! such a great music

  • Doc holiday with the album the last ride or the 1 er ND 2 em album of the Johnny van zant band for the old band of southern rock and

rebel pride or rebel train for the new bands

  • Dude, if you're looking for Southern Rock, you might want to check out Wet Willie, from the early 70s.

  • I saw them at monsters of rock, Donington England early 80's, I had never heard any of their music and thought they were Ace, now thanks to youtube, I remember how good they were and it would seem still are.

  • I don't mean to sound like a chick but just looking at these guys you know they are going to sound good! Bad ass riteous southern rock oh and mean ass guitar tone too!

  • Coolest lookin' band of all time !

  • This seems almost like it is much more recent than 1982, but hell these guys rock no matter when where etc

  • Thats great!I never before heard about this band, but this kick`n ass!

  • miss ya spires long live..blackfoot still and always kick ass

  • miss ya spires long live..blackfoot still and always kick ass

  • Cheers for posting this rare clip, where could i get hold of the full gig anyone? Blackfoot were awesome with Rickey.

  • Blackfoot kicks ass!!!!!!!!

  • No Doubt!!!

  • The best Southern Rock Band EVER.... I saw them on this tour at the Inedependence Hall in Baton Rouge La.....Billy Thorpe and The Johnny Van Zant Band opened up for them ....Still one of the best shows I ever saw....

  • Now you look at lets say Daughtry and you've got to laugh at how this band in the same style lays waste in comparison

  • yes baby, yes!

  • AWESOME! i love his hi roller he wears, the hat just like ronnie van zant wore in skynrd, both legends!

  • Must be one of my favorite Blackfoot tracks. I dig the intro by Shorty Medlocke too(unfortunately not shown in this clip).

  • so true but i guess its still good without it XD..... i think thats what made it interesting in my opinion. just that sudden change :]

  • Awesome, thanks for posting ilovesouthernrock.
