Yea probably not worth a high speed chase for a stolen car, my talon was stolen 2 times and recovered both times, the fact is people steal these cars for a joyride, and when they are done they ditch... they arn't worth parting out because the labour involved plus the garage space needed, and they arn't worth much on the market either, unless they have crazy aftermarket parts then they would probably get away from the cops in the first couple turns anyway.

I had a 91 talon AWD. I beat 5.0s all the time. The Talon would also handle better than any "civilian" mustang. Cop Mustangs were a little different though.

@leitao1996 There's nothing "modified" about a P71 Interceptor, engine is standard ford stock. The Tranny is that same but the computer adjusts the shift ration to allow for all the equipment the car carries. Considering an equipped P71 weighs about 5700 lbs the performance is very impressive. drop the 1700 pound excess and that bitch is an animal.
Keeping up with a 5.0 mustang isn't anything to brag about anymore. I've 3.8 v6 camaro's hand 5.0's there ass and all they had was exhaust. The turbo on all dsm's from the factory was designed for efficiency not power. That's why everyone blows there tranny or the motor with these cars. I don't ever see the same one every summer. I'll stick to my ls1 =D

@leitao1996 There's nothing "modified" about a P71 Interceptor, engine is standard ford stock. The Tranny is that same but the computer adjusts the shift ration to allow for all the equipment the car carries. Considering an equipped P71 weighs about 5700 lbs the performance is very impressive. drop the 1700 pound excess and that bitch is an animal.

Keeping up with a 5.0 mustang isn't anything to brag about anymore. I've 3.8 v6 camaro's hand 5.0's there ass and all they had was exhaust. The turbo on all dsm's from the factory was designed for efficiency not power. That's why everyone blows there tranny or the motor with these cars. I don't ever see the same one every summer. I'll stick to my ls1 =D

I can't believe people are on here saying this is for DSM owners to enjoy. I'm an enthusiast myself, not for DSM but for other cars and I would be ashamed if I saw somebody driving the same car as me running from the police. This is nothing to be proud of.

@StrongInChrist The Talon was pretty new at this time... the 1G Talon was made 1989-1994 and this video looks to have been recorded in the early 1990s, so the Talon was about 3 or 4 years old - at most. It might have been newer.

John Bunnell (the narrator) is such an annoying douchebag. His tone of voice and inflection is exactly the same in every single sentence of every single video, and he's constantly spouting idiotic lines and things that are obviously unknowable and/or simply blatantly wrong as if they're etched-in-granite facts. Punching him in the face for eternity would be my idea of heaven. It's a shame too, since it's otherwise a great show.

@nyko944 lol, that's true. I guess what's annoying is that I don't think he's doing it intentionally. He really seems to think the intensity and hype are always appropriate. But you're right, either way it probably helps the show more than hurts it overall.
(I still wouldn't mind punching him the face for at least 100,000 years or so, though)

Yes the talon and its sisters were made in America, Illinois to b exact, But its hard to determine what is its home country. The eagle and laser were both under American names while the eclipse was under Mitsubishi which of course is japan. I would say there both , just a mix of the two. You cant say there American cause there assembled here, cause if a dodge was assembled in japan would it b a ricer, what about all those VW that were assembled in Mexico were they considered Mexican?
