Diabetes one is caused of by destruction of beta cell in liver which is the fabric of insulin. Then, diabetes two is caused of by resistance of insulin receptors in perifer. That's why, the treatment both of this type is different. Tipe 1, no insulin means needed insulin injection. Type 2, there are insulin but it's receptors is impaired, so, we need to treat the patient with diet, excercise (jogging, running, and swimming- specific to diabetes), and some medical treatment (longterm therapy).
@donpepperoni Well in simple terms and what the doctors told me is that is one of the differences between type one and type two diabetes, so in the majority of cases injections are not needed and type two diabetes is mostly controlled by diet and some medications. It is mostly preventable but in the worse cases, they may need injections.
Please if you can get a one touch basic. it uses photometric testing and is the most accurate. They are no longer available but you can get them on e-bay. I was taken by ambulance because I had passed out from low blood sugar 32 but the ultra meter said 300 . I wear a medical alter bracelet to only test with serum blood no ultra meters!
If you have blood disorders ALL ultra meters will read false high! This is as per makers of one touch .
@StoryboardOptics People with type 1 diabetes, there pancreas does not produce any insulin, whereas people with type 2 diabetes, there pancreas produces less insulin or not enough so therefore they would not need insulin injections as much. I've been a type 1 diabetic for 12 years now, injecting 4 times daily. I am currently trying to get an insulin pump, but because the Irish health system is, lets say not so good, its taking longer than it should! Take care :)
@xlisdoonxchickx Actually in Type 2 Diabetes, the receptor proteins on the cells no longer respond to Insulin, so any injections of Insulin would have no effect whatsoever.
Why do type 2 diabetes patients not recieve insulin injections ?Is it a case of second class system with preference to type I .Why is there a distinction between racial types in systemizing treatments is there really a diff between white diabetes and black diabetes ?
@StoryboardOptics type 2 DM patients initially do not need insulin injections since their pancreas is still able to produce some endogenous insulin, so all they need are medications that work by either enhancing insulin production or facilitating glucose entry into the cell. However, these patients will eventually develop resistance to drugs and will no longer respond to medications (usually happens after several years) so then they will have to receive insulin injections.
