I am still having trouble keeping the hoop on my thigh above my knee. I hoop to the left and feel super awkward trying to keep my right leg straight for some reason. The hoop wobbles a lot and smacks my knees.
amandy032: If you hoop in the left direction, it is your left knee that stays straight and your right leg will bop~ remember to turn in the direction of the hoop, in your case to the left~
So just switch it up, your right leg should be bopping away and your left leg stays stable, while horse-trotting to your left :)
Post 2: Slow down with this one and listen to your body, find the rhythm and be patient. try to keep the hoop well above your knee on the fleshy part right above it. Another suggestion if it keeps going faster is try a bigger, heavier hoop, it'll make you slow down and catch the rhythm easier. good luck and let me know how it goes! If you can, please post your efforts so I can more accurately give you advice :D Happy Hooping!
Post 1: YAAY!! keep going guys! Jennyebrooke and Dopestar42: I would recommend doing a bit of a horsetrot, turning in the same direction as the hoop and controlling the pace of the hoop with your trot. Turning in a circle will give you a direction and trotting, left right left right left right you will fall into a rhythm with the hoop and will be able to control the hoop better.

@kaytibunny
thanks for the advice! the trotting helps a lot actually. still not bopping smoothly, it always falls. i'll keep trying.

@kaytibunny
hey I finally got it this morning yay!
I found that I had to keep my upper torso very straight or even tilted slightly over the pusher leg to keep my balance,
Now: any tips for slowing it down a tad once it is going around the knees?

I can get it going on my knees but I can't keep it up without it going faster and faster until I eventually give up cause I can't slow it down. =[
