@articzap full bolt on cobalt NA vs a stock civic si, i can believe it. depending on drivers. bolt ons would bring it pretty close to the same whp as a civic si.
if i were you tho, id trade that thing in for a kia koup. i know its a kia, but i heard these things make good power from bolt ons. one guy made 15whp just from a cai. plus the car looks better and the interior is better. id get one if i wasnt getting a ss/tc
@DOHCCordia i wouldnt call the extra torque an advantage. a civic si has 139 lbs of torque at the crank, and itl spank an ss/na pretty badly. thats a huge torque deficit. i always go off of whp.
@Dart00Z A lot of the 2.4s are autos which tend to run mid to high 15's However stock the 2.4 5spds have run 14.8s which is right with an SI and the SI does better due to a closer ratio trans that keeps it in its powerband as well. But 5spd SS/NA vs 6 spd SI its a drivers race. Though as the speeds go past the traps speeds of the vehicles the si will begin to pull away due gearing and high rpm power.
@DOHCCordia no not at all. lol. the le5 is in no way comparable to a k20. they are making more whp than a le5 does at the crank stock. ive been on css.net for over a year now. lol. plus when i used to own an si ive put a hurting on a few 2.4 cobalts, even one that was tuned. anyways, a civic si is more comparable to a ss/sc than a ss/na.
@matthewcrabbe then you either raced the 2.2 LT with the sport bodykit or an auto and caught it off gaurd. Plain and simple. The SS/NA's are capable of high 14's pretty much stock. Which is SI what SI's can run as well.
@DOHCCordia Definitely not auto and definitely not the 2.2. Definitely what I said it was. The 0-60 is 7.1, and the 1/4 for one stock is 15.6. Source-wikipedia. Which is a tad faster than the forte, so at that point it's a drivers race.
@matthewcrabbe yeah after listening it definitely is a 5spd. But that doesnt rule it out being an LT sport (09-10 models) And 15.6 is pretty conservative I was beating 15.5 cars by about 1.5 car lengths at 100 and im auto not a 5spd. All I had at that point was an intake. Fortes look nice but 2.4 5spd to 2.4 5spd they will should lose everytime. Not sure if its in the fortes tuning or what but the fortes just dont pull as hard. (test drove one)
@DOHCCordia Definitely not trying to argue with you, but we know it's not an LT, as the brother is friends with the driver. And the forte 2.4 is actualy a 6spd.
@matthewcrabbe What im saying is there was a package for LT's that makes them look like the 2.4SS/Sport . But thats cool if you know the person. Just stating otheriwse that it could of been.
hahahah cobalts suck ass!!!!!a SRT 4???wow you musta thought you had a tough ride..you just got spanked!!!HAHA rematch???even if the srt 4 started in second gear hed tap you
both of you are fucking idiots. the cobalt is n/a and the srt is f/i. and they the same engine size so what do you expect to happen? this cobalt could beat a civic si anyday though and thats a little more far comparrison
go bill!

dude get a cobalt ss turbo then race him. be a diff story then!
transamguy78 1 year ago
i doubt the cobalt would beat a stock civic si.
and a funny fact, a stock cobalt ss n/a would probably lose to a stock kia forte koup. lol.

This Cobalt NA stock beat an 07 SI that was stock. It was a close race though.

@Dart00Z They do. My brother owns a Forte SX 6spd and raced an SS/NA a few times and the cobalt lost every time.
