Awesome but because the monitor's are very wide and not high, it makes the overall picture seem a little unrealistic, as if your barely opening your eyes
@sprayframe - partially true, it depends on the application. In the case of a racing game or any other simulation setup, the side monitors provides and engages peripheral vision but also they provide additional data/content to the user - i.e. a missile coming from the left that you wouldn't be able to see in a single monitor setup during a flight simulation...
I would be really interested to know why 6500 each versus say 1200 each? Is it pure profit or is manufacturing costs really that high. And if so, why is that the case? I can get a LCD 60" TV for $1500
@OstendoTech I asked about the manufacturing costs for this reason: why make it a niche product? 32:10 is true field of vision therefor you could be the first producers in the next market. But the price (quite literally half the price of a brand new Hyundai) will limit your sales. Hell I would probably buy one at 1500dollars because I'm one of those who current sports 3 monitors and this could be my center monitor. FYI I'm a software architect, my current salary is ~150k and I can't afford this
@Rasperin - low manufacturing results in high manufacturing costs. we wished and hoped to make the product more affordable to a larger audience but this is how it stands at the moment.
@OstendoTech Well, a shame :(! I look forward to those with deeper pockets than my own purchasing your monitors in bulk so that your prices drop. I wish nothing but the absolute best for you guys and I look forward to those prices dropping when you have more buyers. Again, good luck, and to those out there that can afford, you should buy it just so I can be jealous of you!
Still... Asking 6500 for this setup is a bit much. I think I'll stick with my 900 dollar setup with 3 screens. Oh wait... $6500 each. Might be good for someone who's got too much money to spend, but for everyday consumers you wouldn't see a profit.
Now if you tell me that this is less than 120hz refresh rate I will just drop on the floor dead from laughter. $6500 for no 3D.... Must be a European thing lol
@Czyerx - each CRVD provides a 48-inch radius of curvature, so with 7 CRVDs you could create a circle and stil have room to get inside the circle as well:-) Of course finding the right content may be a bit of a challenge though...
@streetpunk83 - each one is 43 inch diagonal, if you want a 70 inch, we can sell you 6 or 9 of them and have them stacked on top of each other. Or we can build you a custom one. So this is possible today if someone has the money but for it to be a standard product that cost 1000 bucks, that will be a while...
@streetpunk83 - a single CRVD has a 2880x900 resolution but if you stack/tile them, obviously you can get to higher resolutions depending on the capabilities of your computer & graphics card. For more info on the specs, check out crvd.com
In these demonstrations do you modify the FOV of the games you're demonstrating? Also, I understand this is DLP technology, is there a reason for the 60 hz refresh rate? DLP is prime technology for use with stereoscopic 3D, with DLP televisions and projectors exceeding the recommended refresh rates for a long time now. Related, what's with the seems? Are you recombining the efforts of 4 projectors on one display.
@ronindebeatrice - In none of the videos we have posted including Dirt2 shown here, BioShock, Crysis, WoW and others, we have not modified the FOV. However, we have used in some occasions with some of the older games especially, a tool called "widescreen fixer" to adjust the FOV beyond what the game was capable of.
It is important to note that one of the key characteristics of the CRVD is its ability to "pre-compensate" the image for the 48" radius of curvature so that there are no artifacts.
@ronindebeatrice - CRVD runs at 60 Hz and although you are correct that DLP is capable of handling 120 Hz, this would require a significant redesign of the CRVD, which we don't have any immediate plans for at this time.
Re: seams - CRVD is a single user display with an ideal viewing position ~24-36" from the center of the screen at eye level. When CRVD is viewed from outside of the ideal viewing position, "perceptual seams" between four microprojectors that make up the image may become visible.
Imagine, like way in the future from now when this sorta technology is cheap.. you could set up a room with a dome of these kinds of monitors and be see EVERYTHING from EVERY ANGLE. When driving there'd be no need for a button to look back, you actually just turn your head around. I envy the gamers of the future >_>
I hate how the image always seems bent on these monitors. If they could fix that I would actually want a setup like this. Then again, that could be fixed with software.
Odd feedback for this video yet again.

@Rasperin - because it is a niche product that is being manufactured in very low volumes, hence the high price tag.
