  • This karateka is one of the best fighters ever. He is correct in form when these videos were made.

    Osu!

  • Ofcourse this comment was ment for another vid about the pinan sono ni, in wich there were no strings made before the jodan uke's @ the end. Sorry ;)

    Osu

  • They change the details so much...

  • his kicks are too high and he dosnt bounce the block off of his ribcage.

  • it's a kata from shotokan (heian sandan )

  • @medlaa Heian sandan (pinan sono san in okinawan) isn´t a kata property of Shotokan, Heian/Pinan katas are in a lot of styles of Karate.

  • @medlaa just watch....

  • wait is it a kata from kyokushinkai...?? it's exactly the same as heian sandan from shotokan....

  • Absolute respect and good feelings for Kyokushin, but from my eyes, the movements seems 'ortopedic', unnatual if I compare them with kata Pinan Nidan from Shito-Ryu style which I practice. What do you think?

  • DonJandro,U might be right but it becomes natural with time. The difference in Kyokushin is that every move has to be strong incorporating movement of HIPS.Many styles have nice ,fast moves but there is no power behind it.You hit a guy and...nothing happened!Hip movement control is the key - power comes from there.

  • but, Shito ryu style which I practice works hip at every movement, It's essential since the begining and don't include this kind of unnatural positions. The reason must be different.

  • DonJandro,Mas Oyama, who created Kyokushin was black belt in shotokan, judo, kung fu,taekwon-do.He knew what he was doing - that was his approach. If one is able to execute those kata properly one will have a really good , strong and efficient fighting style.

  • as I said, absolute respect for Kyokushin,Oyama Sensei and his students. I just wanted to know the reason of that discrepancy between our styles.

  • whoa in my class we do those with less counts. Like the punches and kicks are one count

  • super very helfull kyokushin for ever

  • Thanx for this! Very useful for reminding out of training sessions.

  • that kinda looks like piog # 2
