This scene has always irked me, in fact I actually skipped a lot of episodes up until this point because of Pickett's treatment of Sawyer. I find it unrealistic as Sawyer has nothing really to do with his wife's death and Pickett's character is just annoying and has no redeemable quality other than to drive the story forward. I remember cheering as Juliet killed him.
i loved the scene until jack ruined it. i mean, yeah, sawyer got to live, and he's pretty much the only reason i'm watching the show, but that was a sawyer-kate scene. such an intense moment betweeen them.... and then there comes jack, being the oh-so-noble hero, rescuing them and blah blah....
I still bawl my eyes out watching this. The way Kate's voice is like strained and then when Sawyer tells her to close her eyes... It literally kills me. Just the way that their connection is and how they'll do anything to protect each other. Even though Sawyer's about to be shot he's still telling her to close her eyes to /protect/ her from seeing what she doesn't need to. It's remarkable.
Kate really cares about swayer. you can feel how despite she is to save his life, saying she will do anything even if that means losing hers. you can feel the emotions. they are great actors.
Island was real life in the end the church event was purgatory, What gets me is everyone thinks Jack get Kate in the church the meaning of the church is everyone got back together that was lost on the Island with people that survived. Jack like everyone else was going to leave the church alone when ready even his father told him that Kate wouldn't be going with him.
Sorry Jkaters but Jack ended up dead on the Island he saved everyone else and help Sawyer and Kate get off the Island. K&S forever
ok nothing to do with Sawyer as a character....its the writers that didnt have the guts to properly shock/stun/amaze viewers. The only way they ever mananged it was by confusing us with mysteries that in the end meant nothing. Sawyer had a great journey, but he was nothing more than a pawn to Jack's story
@dpboyle20 it was too early in the series to kill off an important character like sawyer. they still had 3 more seasons left. the show would of been awful without sawyer for the final 3 seasons
To some of the retards that think the Island was always purgatory, just look at how real and elemental this scene is. Fuck you people who actually think the whole show is purgatory.
I actually think that this is one of the saddest scenes in LOST, even though Sawyer and Kate both live. It's really good acting from both of them and Pickett, and hearing Kate scream and beg for Sawyer's life in despair like that and Sawyer's voice breaking when he tells her to close her eyes, it was just so sad. Great ending though.

I don't even get Pickett... Sawyer didn't do ANYTHING to Colleen. I was Sun who killed her.

Such an emotional scene.. especially when Sawyer asks Kate to close her eyes....
But I loved how Sawyer got pickett with that button 3 times before the electric shock came... that part cracks me up...

Probably one of your search terms was wrong. This is definitely one of the most critically acclaimed scenes of season 3 and a fan favourite.
