I was a kid in the 70's became an adult in the 80's now that I'm middle age in the 2000- teens I want to be that young adventurous adult again. In a sense this brings back my youth, and I'm very grateful, however I still miss the 80's.
I want to kiss you Kuni92 because this is fucking GOLD !!!
you yourself probably dont even know the VALUE of this history!! This is like finding a rare jewel or turning up a secret of life...........I mean it is hard to convey just HOW GOOD your posting is!! thanksssssssssssssssAbunnnnnnnch!!!!!
Green in your love on bright days You grew sunblind You thought me unkind To remind you How winter kills Lost in daydreams You drove too fast and got nowhere You rode on half fare When you got too scared How winter kills Tear at me searching for weaker seams P
True, Moyet wrote it, but as she has admitted since Vince did all the arrangements. So in effect all Yazoo songs written by Alison are really Moyet/Clarke songs. Vince has just always been generous.
How about the way she changed the melodies on the Clarke compositions. Does it work that way around too? Compare Yazoo's 'Don't Go' to Depeche's 'Just Can't Get Enough'. Winter Kills she wrote the song and played the piano herself. Sweeping assumptions.
Arrangements don't count when it comes to songwriting credits. Of course, Clarke did the arrangements...he's the guy who sequences/plays the instruments!
actually it was Moyet that played the keyboards and arranged Winter Kills on the record and whose playing was used for the recent live concerts on this track.
True, true...I stated that Vince Clarke helping on the arrangements of song does not take sole songwriting credit away from Moyet. I agree...it seems logical that Moyet both wrote AND arranged Winter Kills since see is the sole performer. Perhaps Clarke or Radcliffe (the producer) made some arrangements suggestions...who knows? In any case, my point is that regardless of the arrangement, Moyet DOES deserve sole songwriting credit even though she may have had arrangement suggestions.
