verylastafrican is right...you DO look like wolverine. If you went to a bar here, you would probably get all the fish pie you could handle because of that.
Your hair reminds me of wolverine...not in a bad way. And also, if the slang differs in the UK from place to place, imagine the regional differences in the US. Pretty substantial
I'm from Slough and I've not heard a couple of those. You forgot a couple: "that matey went nutty, started sparkin baaare mans". Perhaps 'raggo' as well haha
Well. This was a very interesting video. I enjoyed how you gave simple things since some people can be pretty stupid so I enjoyed this video and wanted to let you know that. I found that listening to this video over and over and closing your eyes you begin to adapt to the accent. I have been trying to speak in a british accent for an acting role and I've watched almost every video but I found this was the most helpful out of them all. I appreciate you uploading this video. Thank you. :)
what the fck! thts so not true! we dnt use those words! how wud u know u fckin american fatty?!? u avent been to england - get over urself u bloody americans
Hey, mate. I`m 41 yr`s from South London and don`t use many of these word`s!.
"Clucking" is when you need a hit of a drug (puff, etc). "Seen" is Jamaican for "I understand". "Brassick" is said "Bras". "Lad" and "Son" is an insult to an older guy-it`s like "Hey, child". "Safe" mean`s "Ok". "Ag" mean`s "trouble".
It`s an age thing!- Lol!.
Good vid`s though- our American friend`s will think we speak gibberish!.
@jjmm112 Ha. That's very believable. I have very many British friends and I've noticed that it varies in age. On the other hand I have many American friends, too and most of them agree that brits' sound like their speaking gibberish. But I have to disagree. I absolutely love this accent and I do enjoy watching these videos and reading comments sent by brits. Ha. Sorry for the long comment, I tend to send a lot of these,
I`m 42 and this guy is chatting shit (he know`s the score- that is why he has`nt replied). Language is relative to your age and location-= i.e- if we met you would`nt understand a word (as I would`nt if you spoke to me in "local" speak).
I`m not a "brit"- I`m London (English) born an bred!- the genuine article!!- LOL!!!!. :D
@jjmm112 Ha yes. Yes, I am. Oh I see. Well that's very interesting thank you for sharing that. I might not understand but I do conclude that from my point in view English accents are the coolest accent ever. Ha.
The same thing with the language difference is here in the USA, north and south cannot understand eachother lol. Well usually South can understand the North, but the North cant understand us down here lol. When I went up north, I had to repeat myself OVER and OVER again.
i was born in canada, but i wish i wasen't, i wish i was born in the uk, its just a fealing i get wen i here the accent i feal like its my people. lol if that seems wierd
Thanks for your videos!!! This sounds crazy - but, being that I am an American and your accent is thick to me - it would be great if you could actually spell out some of the words you are talking about (maybe in the info section to the right of the video?). I caught most of it, but there were a few that I am not sure if I understood. Your videos are the best and very helpful! Thank you!
'I'm clucking for a bom kip' hahaha. I'm English and if someone said that to me I'd give 'em a clip around the ear!!! But the rest is right...I'm a Londoner so well done my son for helping the ppl!!! lol
Uhmm.. well im moving to Colchester soon, and I was wonduring if they talk british there, if they do talk like you do, I would not last an hour at all, got any tips on what I could do? :)
This reminds me a lot of Hawaiian Pidgin English. The words are different, but they have the same kind of abbreviated sentiment, or something like that. Ex: talk story (means sitting around bullshitting, drinking beer); da' kine (comes from "the kind", and can mean just about anything at all. I've even heard this word used up to five times in one sentence.)
Interesting that, seeing as how the UK has a population of 61m of which there are 812,200 in my county. So surely the fact that on another 'slang' video there is the same slang that just adds creedance to what I say? I don't accuse you of copying your words from all the other English speaking citizens of the world.
