  • If you upload that patch like you showed, don't you overwrite than some other presets/sounds which i don't wanna lose? Because i don't want that...

  • Hello Sir,

It looks like you don't mind answering questions, I wonder if you're knowledgeable in the ways of MIDI clocks?

I'm very close to buying a Gaia but I've read nothing but bad things about how the Gaia's arpeggiator doesn't receive MIDI clock inputs so well. That's the main thing I want it for, you can't even set the BPM manually coz there's no screen!

If, as a Gaia owner, you are able to comment on how well the Gaia synchronizes with other tempo-sources, I'd be grateful.

    Cheers

  • @weaponEX Thanks for the question. I'm sorry but I have no idea. I rarely use my keyboards connected to anything else. I hope someone else may be able to help.

  • @johnsoncp13 Actually Sir, I've already figured out the midi clock issues. Thanks for your reply

  • @weaponEX Excellent. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Please help me, Is there any way of putting a "Grand Piano" sound on the roland gaia?

  • @bloodycape13 I don't think the Gaia has the right kind of sounds to reproduce a piano and it doesn't play samples. Shame. I would like a piano sound myself.

  • VERY Helpful Video THANX brother

  • Excellent Post. im getting mine in the mail this wekend from Nova Music,

Cant wait to try it out.

i was debating between this and the ultra nova. i love those Sweeping Evolving Arp sounds. i havent heard a lot like that on the Gai. The Utra Nova has a lot of those type sounds. Is the Gai capable of producing those type of sounds?

  • @rhampton1914 I cannot say for sure. I have done very little editing of my sounds. All the patches I use are bought and installed. I do have some frustration trying to create my own patches as everything is based on editing something that you already have rather than choosing and mixing sounds that you like.

  • Did you know that you don't have to overwrite your own patches?

Just put the memory stick, with the new patches in the back of Gaia and then press USB memory.

When the led lights up, just select any patch direct from memory stick.

  • @peakfiddler Yes, excellent. So that gives you a total of 32 read only patches and 64 user writable.

  • @johnsoncp13 Ooops. I mean 64 read only and 128 user writable.

  • What do you think abou this set? Lots of ambients alright. It could replace some of the less used patches...then there's the blofeld.

  • @NickDrake101 On the whole I'm very pleased but the difference between some of the 32 ambients is quite subtle. Depending on your taste of music, you couldn't survive on these alone.

I sold my Blofeld but love my Access Virus.

  • @johnsoncp13 Yeah I respect that...the TI is the best...I know all about it. I do like the blofeld though, the Easter soundset has much better patches the the original. Well, I already downloaded this. Nice to try a little TD...mix the Gaia up with the TI that would be interesting!

  • @NickDrake101 The thing I find most frustrating about the Gaia is that you cannot select a 'sound' and edit that. You have to start with an existing patch. So if I want a Bell, Wind Chime and Warm Pad I'm stuck. The Blofeld and all the other synths have no problem with this very basic task. Or am I missing something?

  • @johnsoncp13 That is true they are not readily available as they should be. The gm bank is also another matter. Having said that, if there were singular sounds incorporated into a Gaia production, you could midi in a chime sound and play the Gaia along with that.

  • @NickDrake101 I thought the sound editor (extra cost option) might allow you to do this but the reviews I've read seem to imply that it will not.

  • @johnsoncp13 I Know, Roland could have addressed this problem, and did not. They could have put the sidelined gm chip issue to rest...
