im guessing a steelhead trip..right. well, it would probably help if you used the right rod for the species youre targeting. even a smaller steelhead, in that water, will be a problem when using a standard size trout rod. if you have to use your hand to reinforce the backbone of the rod....you arent using the right rod. when i have to reel in and let people fight steelhead, using improper gear, and WAIT forever....i get a little iritated. good thing i dont smoke..or id be burning lines all over.
