  • @esjakeis86 actually they were nukes by china most likely due to the fact that the U.S was at war with china before the bombs fell in the game but it actually never says who bombed who

  • @915199612 It was vault tec who started the nuclear attack they did it to for fill there own prophecy of nuclear war

  • Hah, the way the word "Fallout" appears at the beginning looks like the game title sequences. I bet this video is where the developers got that from.

  • @jango2090 It's a popular video game series. More popular with Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. They're games that take place 200 years after America was nuked by Japan. Technology advanced, but 1950's culture did not. Amazing game!!

  • @esjakeis86 Not Japan but CHina. And America nuked the other half of the Globe by the way^^

  • what is fallout is it a game a tv show someone explane

  • That stuff would barely work if fallout happened. That's kind of creepy

  • Ябвдул!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • The music is from the 1968 movie night of the living dead!

  • Explains the title of the game and the little drawing on ur pitboy

  • good boys and girls always take their rad-x

  • @Pacifito0o0o yea

  • I thought this was Fallout New Vegas! What the HELL!

  • @pacifisto0o0o

You DO know that "Fallout" isn't just a video game, right?

  • @Verbeke7 what!?!?

  • start saving all you bottle caps people!!!! fallout coming to your town soon!

  • And here I thought this was one of those commericials for the fallout games. It's amazing how little they have to go beyond the real deal to make the fallout game's vintage style.

  • nukes are a lot cleaner nowadays, if the blast doesn't get you then you only have to stay out of the way of the fallout for a few days before it gets to a level where you can go outside for a limited time and get well away from any radiation, chernobyl wasn't the same as a warhead,it was a highly radioactive structure filled with concrete and water so when it exploded it was more like a mine blast than a detonated nuke which vapourises a lot of the particles upon explosion.

  • @markzilla6969 I wouldn't say the nukes are cleaner, but they are typically smaller.

  • game is better thumbs if u wanted to see the game

  • So it isn't from the game? Well that was a waste of time...

  • How come that person opened the door when "fallout" was happening. And it alsi could of been a terrorist. -.-

By the by, I thought it was for the game...

  • And also, watch for deathclaws.

  • XD this vid is soo old back in 1950s they did not know that radiation could penetrate hundreds of miles under ground let alone a school building :P plus they knew lil about the after effects that could last almost thousands of years

  • Ха ха )) Даже сейчас вам только на это и надеятся ^^

  • im registerd with valtech :-)

  • lol the miltary nowhas a drug named ex-rad.... ironic. also the research on the drug took place in bethesda, maryland LOL

  • @349duffman That is so funny. XD I'm guessing the Company that made the Fallout Games used these names on purpose. XP

  • Since when do people get sandbags?

  • @unknowncommenter98 they had them in 1950, cant you read the date

  • Comment removed

  • i love how they get the whole thing wrong when it comes to radiation

  • so go to your local vault today and register!

  • @bigfallout3fan101 Yes, it's amazing any surface dwellers survived at all w/ "quality" educational films like these. XP

  • He is sitting in the sacrivise chair from fallout new vagas

  • *little jimmy runs out* snow in summer ya *mom* no jimmy its not s... *jimmy falls down* *mom crys*

  • haaa hawaii wasnt a state

  • thumbs up if you thought this was for the fallout game

  • God bless america

  • @smiledammit24 I hadn't heard that one before. Still 30,000 people + in the city, all sick, injured, dead, or homeless. If a nuclear meltdown or detonation wereto occur, radioactive particles would spread for several hundred square miles, anyone in that area would be screwd.

  • @oracle897 some of the radiation got to sweden

  • Sorry, proper spelling is Chernobyl, if you want to look it up. Sad thing is this could happen at any nuclear facility, irradiating things for miles.

  • @oracle897 Well what happened at Chernobyl was "planned" more or less. The Russian scientists intentionally turned off safety equipment to show people how good the safety measures were. Ugh, what a country.

  • @smiledammit24 i do not think planned no1 is stupid to do something like that

  • @stevethelazy666 All very fun stuff, there's not much one can do in case of a nearby detonation, short of running ahead of time, and we should all be just as aware of nukes today, or we will regret it. Would totally suck to have one go off. Just think of Cheyrnoble.

  • dude, on 5:10 the uniforms look like vault uniforms

  • I wonder why they stopped informing people about these things? I mean, most people dont know nor care anymore. This should still be aired, the threat of a nuclear attack is equally as high as It was then, once the atom was harnessed as a weapon the threat level will never change.

  • mmm... am not a scientist but the best way to protect from fallout injures is just NOT THROW THE DAMM BOMB!!!

  • @BLANCARF that and rad-x.

  • @DekuNut123 and stay away from the ardor, no matter how you need your power armor

  • Don't you love those old idiots! They don't mention death as a side effect of radiation, how nice.

  • @oracle897 Morality levels and not wanting the country to destabalize and all that.

  • "If you are exposed to this radiation, you will be hurt!"

    Just say it...

"If you are exposed to this radiation, you will become a flesh eating zombie, and your parents will have to kill you!:)"

  • 1:47 Very well shaped head.

  • War... war never changes. Fallout games are the best in the world.

  • @holy cow u mark a quest to be ur main 1 and it will show up on ur right bottom cornor as a filled tick mark

  • I hate fallout 3 and new vegas . Because you dont know where to go you have to figure it out and if you watch walkthrough its not fun anymore.

  • What you can do? > listen to Johnny Guitar and Love me as though there were no tomorrow

  • I dig the really creepy music . The only thing in my apartment building that will survive are my little pet ROCH'S

  • I dig the really creepy music .

  • I like fallout 3's cartoons better :0

  • is that like the pip boy kid from fallout 3

  • North Korea and China Coming soon.

  • The only thing you should to do: DUCK AND COVER!!! as South Park said

  • @edybeast woah how old are you

  • God this PSA is alot creepier than the other cold war fallout PSA's like the were screwed creepy

  • @Arashieatssweets You should see the "Protect and Survive" ones from overseas.

  • @zombieboi77 The war in the game took place in 2077 but fallout 3 takes place in 2277 and Fallout New Vegas is 2281.Its also an alternate universe to ours with a different timeline that diverges from ours in 1945.

  • LOL I was thinking this was going to be another video on the fallout games. Man I love F3 and NV.

  • Hey anyone one played fallout:new vegas yet?? ;)

  • hehe narrator sounds like Wiliam Shatner

  • @buokopter rofl he dose

  • I hear fallout is great on a steak with a side of French fries.

  • cold war...

  • Who nuked Megaton?

  • @metroid885 meeeee

  • i cant wait for another week for new vegas!!!!

  • Lol

  • If you are exposed to fallout long enough, you will be .. hurt!

  • First step... get to a Vault. Second, have a kid. Venture out of the vault into the wasteland so that your kid can follow you and start kicking ass, while you take pride in hearing all kinds of praise for him by that guy on the radio and act like you're actually doing something by traversing through all the most monster laden places. Then of course you'll get killed, but your son will probably avenge you (unless he's a dick... then he'll just kill all the ghouls and let the computer survive).

  • It must have sucked living in the 1950's. All that 'your gonna die in mushroom cloud' stuff. Also the retro tables suck.

  • Ummm... according to the map at 5:12, they think that the only Canadian city that's gonna get hit is bloody Winnipeg?! That'll piss Toronto off! Hey, T.O.'s a world-class nuclear target!

  • Gotta love classics

  • I love the old library50s music they used on the opening soundtrack. This piece was also used in the opening of 1959's SPACEMASTER X-7, as well as ending of the classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.

  • @4everfrankenstein It was also on Ren and Stimpy.

  • @dorminay Oh, that's right! I remember being tickled by that. Y'know, the composer's of these old "library" pieces never got screen credit. But, one evening I was at the Egyptian theater for a screening of Larry Blaimaire'sI 50s Sci-Fi spoof, THE LOST SKELETON of CADAVERA. While the director introduced the film, he actually made a point of mentioning the names of these unsung composers whose work was so prolifically exploited more than a quarter of a century ago. I thought it was a nice touch.

  • I just like listening to this guy's voice. Why can't people sound like this anymore? So soothing.~ =u=

  • 1. Stay the hell inside

    2. Don' waste your good china on radioactive dirt

    3. What if I don't have a damn radio?

    4. Their faces aren't protected!

    5. Where the hell is their furniture?!

    6. I don't have sandbags

    7. I don't have that many books!

    8. Instead of books just use your many outdated ipods or laptops.

  • jeriko

  • This video was played on my local cable channel... Late at night. I had a DVR so I caught the whole thing, converted it, and uploaded it! ENJOY!

  • @noelwclarke Why would the local channel be playing this? Ironically I hope lol

  • @noelwclarke what channel was it on

  • @noelwclarke yeah on the old tv show and such on the old channel tv show or something like that, i belive

  • Yeah unless you were part of the Enclave, you would not survive.

  • the fact that this video has inspired comments about a VIDEO GAME is a real indictment against anyone aged 13-29. seriously, people, this is part of REAL history - you know, in the REAL world? get off the playstation.

  • @NathanLPaylor: Oh, not necessarily. In fact, Fallout 3 did a good job lampooning the primitive '50s propaganda.

  • @NathanLPaylor

    yeah.-.-

  • I think Fallout 2 is the best game ever, but stop saying dumb things with Vault-Tec and stuff

  • i reckon the uk should have a valt tech company or at least america have one and the uk can use some of its facilities or get some of them to build us a few vaults

  • Who would have time to sandbag their house???

  • When the bombs fall, I will be glad that I live in a sub-urb that is perfectly safe...

that and that we have a Wal-mart right across the street.

Wal-mart - Best fallout shelter EVA!

  • Lead-coated concrete walls, thats what my shelter will have if there is ever a nuclear threat ... hell I'll try to set it up bellow the surface of the ground, as far as I can go I guess lol

  • Fucking ghouls.

  • fallout new vegas is gonna rock!!

  • man who will be outside thier house an hour of a nuke explosion

  • I like the creepy music, it's really fitting.

  • 1:23 "What is this fallout anyhow?" -- It's the best game ever made !!

  • I like the spooky music at the beginning.

  • The cold war was nothing but a joke

  • ha its so great to see a real one of these. and yes the fallout games kick ass.

  • lol the music in the begginining is used in night of the living dead which was made in 1967

  • lol,americans are so fool

  • Fallout the game is one thing, the one of the movie was a real menace in the 50's, there was no PipBoy 3000 or Brotherhood of Steel, just people afraid of being wipe out the earth.

Sure it was a great fundament to make all Fallout game sequels but doesn't mean this must be taken as a joke.

(And sorry for my bad grammar)

  • PIP BOY ME TOO!

  • And it's not off the damn game retards stop talking about pip-boys , holy shit yur annoying

  • @CheesyBigMac1 you should try the game bro, seriously. it's one of the best ever made. :)

  • I mean NUKES

  • Fallout would be fuckin scary as hell!

  • @CheesyBigMac1

If youmean the possible birth of Super Mutants, Deathclaws, And zombified Ghouls lacking the reason of us humans and an evil goverment who lied to us and tries to mass genocide us wastelanders of survival? Then yeah it is scary :( So remember to grab the nearest pip boy :), 10 mm pistol, a Baseball bat, and military armor possible :(

And Don't forget the bobbleheads :D

  • is that from the game

  • No this is real.

  • I think Fallout is a pretty cool guy. eh is radioactive and doesn't afraid of anything

  • Son...

    I am radioact.

  • ALL YOUR FALLOUTS ARE BELONG TO US

  • Only in the Twilight Zone.

  • Man I swear this makes me feel depressed but it's really making me stronger inside

  • Fail... "hey everyone, I just heard a nuclear explosion, let me get a white plate and leave it outside to see if its fallout. That way when we all die from radiation poising we will all know that it was actually fallout. " you think as soon as people heard the explosion they would evacuate.

  • i love these cartoony nuclear war vids

  • 1:53.

gosh, youd think you would say "IF an explosion occurs"

    pessimists!!!!!!

  • HA! This is awesome, that little character does tons of Pipboy's (AKA Vaultboy's) expressions and poses!

  • :D.

  • @MrNickWright

maybe its pipboy that is imitating these things?

  • Man, this makes me love the Fallout games even more!

    This stuff is awesome.

  • @0Francine0 isint this a ligit comerical

  • @0Francine0 tell that to the local people affected by Chernobyl

  • my mom's family built a shelter durring the cold war :P

  • I caught that also lol

  • am i the only one that noticed the music in the beginning is from night of the living dead?

  • The "Fallout" title effect inspired the same title effect for the Fallout game series.

  • DUCK & COVER!

  • my grandpa told me that back in his day if this happend in school you where told to hide under your desk or push agist wals WTF he allso said that this was just give some comfurt but you will never live LOL

  • Yeah, the "Duck and Cover" PSA's from the 50's used to tell kids to duck under a desk or crouch against a wall. The desk would be vaporised and the wall would be blasted down, possibly before you even have a chance to get into position.

  • The old D&C films weren't meant to be of any use to those right in the heat/radiation zones but, to be of use to those that were a ways away from them. Those lucky enough to be a couple of miles from smaller bombs, (or further from larger ones), could be reasonably expected to benefit from these techniques. They are designed to give you a level of safety from falling objects caused by wind blast, not from radiation, heat, or other, more local, effects of a blast.

  • Yeah, true. I never really considered the "falling objects" factor.

All the same, like you said, it doesn't protect you from radiation or heat.

I always considered D&C to be more of a consolation thing, to try and convince people that there WAS something they could do in case of attack. I'm not saying the techniques are futile, but I doubt that they're quite as effective as D&C claims.

  • Exactly, they are "better than nothing" techniques but, the added benefit is that if folks feel like there is something they can do, they aren't as likely to panic. I live less than 5 miles from a likely target so , for me, most of this would be useless but, I have family that live way out in the country and some of these things MIGHT be enough to help keep them alive, had a full nuke war ever happened. I still dont' want to put it to the test though! LOL!

  • south park did a whole epipsode taking the piss out of this it was great

  • which episode of south park?

  • i cant reamber exactly but it was the epipsode wit h the volcanio

  • Are you talking about that episode with scuzzleButt?

  • yeh i think so im not sure

  • your talking about the duck and cover vid not this one

  • your grandpa is a true wise man boyo...

  • DUST!

    . . .

    3:54 :O

  • man they should make more videos like this in the Fallout games. Most of them were ads.

  • God i love these 50's fallout shows. it shows just how f***ing dumb ppl really can be!

What can you do if fallout happens??

    Nothing!!

    Your already screwed lmao

  • I really think we should have a Vault shelters just incase this does happen!

  • wouldn't that be fucking awesome

I just hope Vault-Tec doesn't use us as experiments

  • If it does, then ill just pick one of the moral choices and get rid of the Overseer, then go into the wasteland to look for my father?

  • i only played fallout 3....so what was 1 and 2 about?

  • the same thing, just west coast instead and it wasn't also an fps perspective

  • pretty much the same thing fallout 1 you go out of vault 13 to find a water chip for the vault and at the end you live at a village and in fallout 2 you are the grandson of guy you play as in fallout 1 (the vault dweller) and you have to find this kit to save the village

  • as far as i know, they were about the same kinda thing, but with a different layout. they were top-down view RPG's, rather than the 1st/3rd person view, with shooter elements in fallout 3.

i never played them, but apparently they took place quite a while before fallout 3, and some of the random bits of info you come across in F3 refer to things that happened in the first 2 games.

there was one i came across, where it was talking about someone about 70 yrs before interacting with a vault dweller.

  • reminds me of vault tec from fall out 3

  • Its just false hope for the populace. Theres no stoping the 2nd stange of radiation. We would all be screwed.

  • See how at the end (on 6:42), they say to use books!

Books are the last thing you put up to pick up radiation, or to get burnt!

And look how they place them in the picture, like there suppose to be burnt right away! What will the survivors have to read? Just leave the books to burn, right, just sit and listen as our radio broadcast brainwash you! ITS LIKE FAHRENHEIT 451!

  • lol i thought this was supposed to be part of the game fallout but nope. The more you know the more chance you get from getting your ass mutated...

  • Why did it end? this is dier to my health and obviosly not outdated at all!

  • civil defense is the predecessor of Homeland security
