the accord is 4spd autotragic. 2000 it's the sedan. i want a 6 spd and im gonna put a 3.2/3.5 engine in there to give it some spice. i might go turbo just to see the numbers for fun.

well.......we do get the wrx sti "special edition", which has the full "spec c's" suspension, no hid's, no auto-climate control, 4-speakers instead of 10 and no 6-disc changer, only 1. That makes up the special edition, according to the website. Its suppose to be $2000 dollars cheaper than the regular STI, pitting it direction directly with the evo x gsr. Better suspension should help the lateral g's and help give the STI little to no "numb steering". I'll take the STI special edition. =)
Stop arguing, the main reason is because the engine works with fuel found in Japan and Europe, not USA.
USA fuel standards except California are quite old.
For instance if you live in Idaho you may drive the newest model of Infinity but with engine from previous generation because your gasoline is something like a91 which is pretty old standard compared to a98 in Europe. While Nissan are big company and can afford line only for USA, Subaru obviously won't take the risk.
Subaru continues to gain traction across the USA, with Sales surges, its a great SUV replacement line, with Forrester, Outback and Impreza all selling strong in Subaru's #1 market, THE USA. Subaru is small but they are not hurting badly.

Not sure if the Spec C is exactly what we got over here, but Subaru just unveiled the STI Special Edition, which has that Spec C suspension, and the wheels. Not sure about the underbody panels, or the taller 5 and 6 gears, though.

6500rpm is not to save fuel dude. Not at all. It's been proven many times that the stock turbo on the sti does better from 4k to 6k and runs outta steam by 6500. Plus even if it is for fuel saving, trust me at full boost and throttle at 6400rpm, the car is drinkin the petrol lol
its all just that ralliart put on a bigger turbo, exhaust and intake system to get 400 hp from the fq 400. subaru just havnt decided to do the same but a few simple upgrades to it prolly cost less than from the factory

Not going to happen on an awd car like the evo or sti, the entire engine has to be packaged in front of the front axle. It's not so much a matter of static weight distribution as it is the polar moment of inertia. Do get rid of the understeer at the core (without sacrificing overall grip through bandaids like whacked out roll couple distribution) they would have to switch to either a FR platform or to keep awd: a transaxle with a jackshaft like the gtr.
you mean the next turn? yeah, he hit the next turn nicely... but he didn't have to totally screw up the other one in order to do so. tracks aren't made that way--each turn CAN be hit perfectly without having to sacrificing others.

What's promising is that since the current (regular) GRB JDM STi hatch posted faster Tsukuba lap times than the fastest of the older GDB STi's (Spec C RA-R) sedans, It should be a no-brainer that this new GRB Spec C would be even faster.

This version is very close to what was released in the UK known as the STI 330S. By Spring 09 the UK will get an even more powerful version called the 380S. What version the USDM gets is anyones' guess. But if Subaru is determined to maintain market share in the USDM then they really need to show it and finally bring to the US the pumped-up versions of the STI!
I don't think you can call this (if its the spec C) anything even close to the STI 330S. Thats essentially a regular UK STI with recaros, a reflash and an exhaust. The Spec C is a totally different thing. JDM EJ20, Aluminum bits, different turbo, suspension etc. But, yeah, Subaru needs to sell the pumped up STIs outside of Japan even if its in limited numbers.
This is a prelude to the Spec C most likely. The smoother underpinnings and rear diffuser on the car are said to complement the new gear ratios with a shorter 1-4 and taller 5-6 to help bump top speed to 165mph, and are currently not on the Takumi 20th anniversary version. Pictures and some sources also show the calipers to be slightly larger than the regular JDM STi.
yh, the 20th anniversary ed is pretty awesome tho, aparently it is what the sti shud of been in the first place, better handling etc, peter solberg tested it as did Chris Atkins and they said it is fantastic

i agree completely. I just bought the 2.5i premium (non-wrx) version of this off the lot the other day. It's not patriotic to buy American simply to buy american. If you buy only what you want then eventually other companies will catch on.

I hated the hatchback at first, but I love the damn thing now. I own an outback, its a damn sturdy subi, and i'm looking to get an STi in the future. I heard only 1,000 spec c's were made because the economy sucks. There goes america's chance to get a badass car... i'm sick of seeing all the morons in evos that think they can drive.

6500rpm is not to save fuel dude. Not at all. It's been proven many times that the stock turbo on the sti does better from 4k to 6k and runs outta steam by 6500. Plus even if it is for fuel saving, trust me at full boost and throttle at 6400rpm, the car is drinkin the petrol lol

its all just that ralliart put on a bigger turbo, exhaust and intake system to get 400 hp from the fq 400. subaru just havnt decided to do the same but a few simple upgrades to it prolly cost less than from the factory

Not going to happen on an awd car like the evo or sti, the entire engine has to be packaged in front of the front axle. It's not so much a matter of static weight distribution as it is the polar moment of inertia. Do get rid of the understeer at the core (without sacrificing overall grip through bandaids like whacked out roll couple distribution) they would have to switch to either a FR platform or to keep awd: a transaxle with a jackshaft like the gtr.

you mean the next turn? yeah, he hit the next turn nicely... but he didn't have to totally screw up the other one in order to do so. tracks aren't made that way--each turn CAN be hit perfectly without having to sacrificing others.
but, i will take back my comment about the driver being shitty. i won't base my opinion off one video.

Americans please note the use of "corners" in testing this race bred car. These "corners" add dimension to racing which the USA has previously believed to involve going 400m (thats metres ie a metric measurement) in a straight line.

For anyone who honestly thinks most Americans are red-necked low-brow circle track enthusiasts, you may want to look up SCCA, WERA, and a slew of other racing organizations which allow drivers and riders to turn their car or bike both directions. I'm looking forward to doing some driver training on Laguna with my 05 STI and maybe Superbike School on the 1098.

What's promising is that since the current (regular) GRB JDM STi hatch posted faster Tsukuba lap times than the fastest of the older GDB STi's (Spec C RA-R) sedans, It should be a no-brainer that this new GRB Spec C would be even faster.

This version is very close to what was released in the UK known as the STI 330S. By Spring 09 the UK will get an even more powerful version called the 380S. What version the USDM gets is anyones' guess. But if Subaru is determined to maintain market share in the USDM then they really need to show it and finally bring to the US the pumped-up versions of the STI!

I don't think you can call this (if its the spec C) anything even close to the STI 330S. Thats essentially a regular UK STI with recaros, a reflash and an exhaust. The Spec C is a totally different thing. JDM EJ20, Aluminum bits, different turbo, suspension etc. But, yeah, Subaru needs to sell the pumped up STIs outside of Japan even if its in limited numbers.

This is a prelude to the Spec C most likely. The smoother underpinnings and rear diffuser on the car are said to complement the new gear ratios with a shorter 1-4 and taller 5-6 to help bump top speed to 165mph, and are currently not on the Takumi 20th anniversary version. Pictures and some sources also show the calipers to be slightly larger than the regular JDM STi.
