Just recently I decided to use the "lifetime Replacement" Warranty to replace a slipping ratchet. I failed to read the part that says after you go to the trouble to box it up and pay to ship it to them, they want you to pay $15.00 to send a replacement back to you. What the hell kind of warranty is that? A set costing this much should have a better warranty policy. And for a broken socket.....$10.00 to replace it. That is not a warranty....that is buying a new socket.

Used mine for `23+ years box long gone, got them when they first appeared.Only lost the 19mm when using a scaffold pole and strong arm.New one got the cortina suspension apart. These are great tools and have lasted well
@guitartec I got mine on clearance for $50 or $60 = a better deal than I ever would have thought. The socket wrench seems good, although I usually use a who-knows-how-many-decades-old inherited Craftsman one that is apparently indestructible. But I have beaten the crap out of the Metrinch wrenches and sockets, using hammers and prybars on them to get something loose, and they keep going. Great stuff.
@WesSeid Yeah, I do too... I have a real sexy looking Craftsman ergo ratchet wrench I got for a birthday gift countless eons ago. It fits in the Metrinch box quite nicely.
I got my set years ago at True Value hardware, I also got a socket set branded Master Mechanic that were very much like the snap on ratchets and sockets.
My Metrinch set has held up all this time with almost daily use at work.
@HackerGuitarist I love it. Some of the chrome plating is peeling off a few pieces. I think they will probably cover them under warranty, I just have to call.
@hadin101 ur rite, they are better! LOVE THEM! Great tools. Ive had mine since 1987 and I still have them. I bought the Master set. Back then it cost me 390.00 but I got over 100 pcs.
Considering they work on walls instead of corners it's a wonder why others aren't being made that way. They do need to get a better box for these though
I think Craftsman had a set of wrenches that were similar some time ago but I guess they never took off. Yes, the case is horrible. Everything get mixed around with the slightest jar.
i've had my set for about 10 years, and i've literally worn it out. some of the sockets don't grab anymore. but i've taken off MANY rounded off bolts with them, i broke several ratchets. the one thing that sucks is their box, the hinge and latches break.
i'm looking for another 48pc set, all they have now is the 62pc.
I retire my Craftsman tools after I got this tools and never look back. Strong as hell, I used and abused them, even used it as an impact and it held. The only infomarcial stuff that is good. NO JOKE
This toolset is worth its weight in gold. I've replaced over 100 traditional sockets (my father's set and mine). I LOVE this thing and would be lost without it. I'm seriously thinking of buying a few extra sets for my boys when they get older. I use my Metrinch set every week. Luckily, I still have every piece.
...
Thanks for sharing the video. Hopefully other people will consider buying them.
I agree best toolset I've ever owned...and trust me I've em all, including snapon and craftsman. Bought em at off the infomercial as well and had em for 5 years.
I have that same socket set cheers :)

I have this exact set too. I got it dirt cheap (like $38.) when Sears was blowing them out about 15 years ago.
What a GREAT set. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

@guitartec Man, wish I would have gotten mine that cheap
