That can happen, my mother and sister had one like that in front of their car and it was luminescent green, this was in the 60's. They said it was cigar shaped. If these things slow down to land, they look like a disc and I had a friend that flew a helicopter right over one huge saucer by accident, so he freaked and lost his job and had an accident, making me think he got set up cause he wasn't supposed to have changed his flight path and see it.
