iRacing, You guys rock! This looked a LOT more true to life than any other virtual Brands Hatch I've ever seen. But still won't buy iRacing. Sorry! Just too expensive for the little time I have to race =S
I would buy iRacing right now if I could pay only for time spent on servers instead of a fixed monthly fee. I do love a good race sim, but I have a life too ;-) and I don't want to pay a monthly fee if I only race like 4 or 6 nights a month. I'm sure you understand my point =) please reply!
Track looks good, just a shame i don't really like iracing. Tried Iracing for a while but was not convinced as to the accuracy level of the physics. Every race I had the fastest on track would be sliding the car around like he was on a rally stage....do that in real life and your at the back. The cars also seemed to lose the back end too easily for my liking. Being smooth in real life pays off but on iracing you need to break the basics of driving quickly in real life to get near the top
@crosswah being smooth pays off more in some cars than in others-the rookie cars, the legends and solstice series, are very loose because in real life they are very loose. go to a real race in those series, you'll find they race much the same way. also, re: losing the back end easily...if racing was easy, i'd be in daytona this week
Finally, an accurate version of Brands! The Skippy F2000 is 2 seconds a lap slower round the Indy circuit than my Historic FF2000, but it could probably help me improve the lines.
I think the exit of Graham Hill Bend needs to be made off limits to cars (i.e. punishable by penalty), because it certainly ain't part of the track.
It's actually concrete out there with grass growing through it. The FFords I've seen race there are running all the way out on that, kicking up dirt from running past the concrete even...
That's true, but it's still not part of the track surface, it's part of the run off area, else everyone would use it. I'm pretty sure the Clerk Of the Course would black flag you for using it too many times during the race.
um i think clouds always change in real life.... so how are they suppose to have the sky accurate? its more about the track and the car and not the sky. ;)
This video is not using real world sounds. You can search for the real video here on youtube. I also highly doubt the Iracing video is somehow switching gears at exactly the right time every time.
Yes it is. Sorry! But it is. The description says both, it's using both.
No it isn't shifting at the same time every time. I can hear that, but then I created the video and have listened to both sound tracks quite a bit, but why not?
Fair enough, but the Iracing sound is much louder. You cant really hear the real sound. Then again i could be deaf. But I watched the other video and the sound is nothing like this one. Everything else is fantastic like always.
Look at some of the other side by sides. We simulate the same drivetrain. It's most noticable in the Spec Racer Ford (laguna seca side by side) where you can see the real-world driver shifting and hear the sim-driver doing the same - at the same time.
Finally a track that I've driven in real life comes to iRacing! Looks like they have done a great job. If you watch closely, the driver makes exactly the same steering correction entering Clearways, showing how accurate the bumps are modelled.

That is so unrealistic. Like it would ever be sunny at Brands Hatch. Video is probably a fake too.

It was a blissfully sunny day on Sept 25th, 2005 when I was last there. :)

because in entry level cars that is the fastest way to go around the track, but not in something like a radical sr8

I've stood on the exit of the turn and seen them do it every lap. :)

Love iracing cant stand its terrible sound as this video proves yet again.

This video has real-world sound tracks from the real-world video.

So this proves that the sounds of iRacing seem to be very realistic^^

Using the indy circuit huh, cant wait to go round sheene on the GP circuit almost flat in the indycar at the weekend.

wow, iracing is pretty realistic, cant help but notice the only error, the red and white 'recticel' barriers at paddock are only used for bikes...
The detailing of the exact positions of signs, armco overlaps and marshal posts is excellent.
