I loled at Donald's double take at the pair of mallards. Although I have a hard time believing that you can spend 13 months on a boat that's smaller than a cruise liner and still not realize that your best friend/lover is on board with you.

And yes, the ark was smaller than a cruise liner. Wider, maybe, but definitely smaller. By quite a bit. The Titanic was about two or three times bigger than the ark.

@tinynicktune There's nothing in the Bible that said the animals couldn't mate while they were on the ark. Chances are that not many did, partially because of the stress, and partially because Noah probably brought young animals, weaned of their mothers, but still too young to breed. Only the rodents and the rabbits would have matured enough to multiply in that time period.

this is in accord to the bible where Noah laid nude and was seen by Ham and he then cursed Ham and all his descendants to be slaves i.e. "the curse of Ham", americans actually used this story to enslave black africans. The truth is unfortunately not as beautiful as this duck tale story.

Noah did curse Shem, and I wouldn't be surprised if some people used this curse as justification for keeping black slaves, as Ham is indeed the ancestor of most Africans. But the curse was more specifically for Canaan, the ancestor of the people that Shem's descendants Israel conquered when God gave them the Promised Land.
