well I'll try but do I start with music notation? and finger excersizes. and what ever else?and spend money I do not have on books that will probably tell me nothing. Dude look I am just so tuned off at how difficult playing guitar is. I used to love it and play all day now I play for about 54 mins and put it down. I would love to just be able to pick it up and shred with sweep arpeggios and really cool shit but with no formal instruction. it is hard
If you go to my website you'll see that I have a book for sale...its all about the basics..check it out and see if it is something that you think you can use.
Learning to play guitar is something that is a lifelong pursuit. Some of the stuff that you want to do is stuff that I still struggle with and I have been playing/learning/teaching for 23 years. You really have to learn to enjoy the "journey" with music...its too easy to get frustrated and quit when things get tough or monotonous.
you know mark you are right. it is eas to give up man. I guess I'll hang in there. I already plan to et your book but first I have to pay off the greedie bill collecters or I'll have no electricity and you know what that means. NO COMPUTER. anyway. I will get the book and go from thee . you'll see maybe we can do that chat thing. do you know when that will be.. waite I'll see you mention it on your blogg.
I'm having trouble finding time in the evening to schedule a webchat this month. Every night until 9pm PST is booked solid with students right now. I am thinking that it will open up next month as the school year starts to end and people start going on vacations...
@IbanezRbest learn scales first... maj 7(ionian), minor 7 (dorian) then by thirds, then triads on those scales..the picking comes whit a lot of practicing . also i recomend changing to 0.12 or 0.11 strings ....try reading that lets you knowin perfectly your instrument.... and the most important thing ,you have to study 3or 2 hours minimum per day EVERY DAY
in one month you would see progres. is not just a game. is art to
You need to try and keep it fun....If you are getting burned out maybe take a break and come back to it.
Starting back on the basic is not a bad idea. Every once in a while I do it myself. I think that if you gain that solid base of "beginner skills" the rest will be easier for you.
I have to say man.. I have no clue what the hell I am doing.. I am thinking of giving up on the guitar. After 25 years of playing. I find my self loosing intrest all together. I am to old to make anything of it. it'll never pay the bills and to be honest the difficulty of trying to figure out where to start. I am thinking I may need to start from the begining. like a Noob. lear to read music and fingering you know beginer shit. I may just give up all together.
