  • The reason why people don't notice? It's like the experiment where they asked people to count how many passes were made in a basketball game, and then, part way through, have someone in a gorilla suit run through. You know what happened when they asked the audience about the gorrilla? They hadn't even noticed. One thing had their attention so well, they weren't paying attention to anything else. Since this is a pretty actiony scene, it can be understood how no one noticed, not even the editors.

  • That is a seriously bad mistake. I guess the fight was so exciting that even the crew forgot to work.

  • DAMN !!! THAT REALLY IS THE BIGGEST GOOF EVEN I DIDNT NOTICE

  • Thank God everyone has a cell phone now. Prisoners don't have to carry around a 4 thousand dollar Panavision camera anymore to film fights!

  • Comment removed

  • Clearly not movie goof, just a guy filming a death match to sell on the black market

  • BOB FROM LA BAMBA

  • Haha was too concerntrated on the two guys. Must be why everyone else missed it too

  • WTF thats obvious as hell how come I didnt see that

  • lmao!! i thought you were going to point out that the knife is close then far then close then far again! XDD i totally did not see the camera guy at all! XDD

  • that is truly bizarre

  • Funny thing is I didn't even notice that the first time around...

  • How the hell did I not see that

  • Never caught that good, probably because I was paying attention to the fight.

  • @ardillarojo Same here, it was apparently just a bunch of legs xD

  • HOW THE FUCK DIDNT I SEE THAT

  • Mistake or not how the fuck did i not see that guy with the big fucking camera... Honestly i cant stop laughing...

  • LOL!

    I didn't see that!

  • lol

  • 10 people are the cameraman.

  • @138chuvok That doesn't make sense.

  • @MrBtingle Yes it does.

  • Wow, look how big was the celular phones to tape the fights in that year :-D

  • The things that editors don't catch...

  • Anyone else hate Sean Penn. He overacted in 'Mystic River' when he finds out his daughter is dead.

Plus, he's a dick for befriending Hugo Chavez, who would destroy the US if he had the opportunity.

  • @algol291 maybe you should look up economic hitman, Salvador Allende, and things like that.

  • OMG!

  • Goddamn, been watching this for YEARS and I never caught that lol, I suck

  • lol i thought that was a tampon at first xD

  • haha cant argue with that

  • I can't believe someone watched this movie to even spot the goof.

  • lmaooo, didnt even notice till the end!!!!

  • haha

  • well maybe the cameraman is a cmovie character and hes filming the fight

  • hahaha. you have very sharp eyes.

  • where was the goof?

  • @Bigtender Only the entire camera crew visible during the fight....

  • that was amazing

  • There is no way that was actually in the movie. It has to be from the deleted scenes or something.

  • @TheMaskedInsomniac yes it was I watched the movie yesterday and noticed it and thats why I'm on you tube seeing what other movies this happened in

  • Garmy Garmy Garmy!!!

  • It's not that editors don't catch the mistakes. It's often too expensive to re-cut and they want the footage in the film, so they bet on most viewers not noticing. Here, where the focus is on the action, they know very few will catch the error. Particularly true for films made before everyone had access to editing clips and uploading to a Website for everyone to see...

  • @mcstraviganza oops, I meant "too expensive to re-shoot..."

  • @mcstraviganza I seen a lot of movies with huge mistakes in them. Like Aliens and The Thing. I think most movies have mistakes in them but most people arent looking for that sort of thing when they watch a movie!

But Im always hoping to see the ghost boy from Three men and a baby somewhere else!

  • looool

  • haha wow. I didn't see it the first time. I like how the woman next to him is trying to hide him but failing. XD

  • GARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I missed it. But thank you for highlighting.

  • I saw it right away

  • It couldn't just have been a guy from the Prison Filmmaking Club?

  • @KennBurch

    oh you.

  • i noiticed it the first time but never knew the plot of the movie. i thought it was some sick "prison fight' publication in the film haha.

  • I missed it..I love that fight scene too !

  • fake

  • What, don't they let convicts pursue hobbies in the course of their rehabilitation? ; )

  • now that quality

  • ummmm....derp

  • hahahahaa

  • i have seen that movie man times and missed it every time. I guess you are focused on the ice pick more.

  • a documentary ..maybe..hehe

  • Virtually all movies have some mistakes like this (thoughy rarely this outrageous). I watched The Dark Knight so many times (it was all I had when I moved and had no TV/internet for a few months) that I stopped concentrating on the story and dialogue and then one time when I watched it, all of the sudden I started to see every little mistake like reflections of cameras and continuity goofs like things not in the right place from shot to shot.

  • i thought that was a corndog on the ground

  • Noway. But I was totally focused on the action between the two instead of the crowd.

  • Wow.... this video is right. This has to be the worst movie mistake I have ever seen. Or, well... it could share the number 1 spot with when they play a clip backwards in the movie Anaconda to show them leaving with the boat, where you can obviously see the waterfall goes upwards.

  • Check out the awful Indiana Jones 4. The scene in the restaurant in the first act. The ketchup and mustard bottles on the table. Now, I never notice these mistakes, I think it's the first one I ever caught in my whole life, but it's so obvious even I couldn't miss it.

  • @wuezili That movie isn't awful. It's better than 2 and 3. :P

  • @kurvos Sorry. I meant to adults.

  • @wuezili It doesn't matter if you're adult or not - we are all entitled to have our own opinions. You don't need to act like an immature prick trying to poke at us more openminded than you.

  • @kurvos Your bad taste doesn't support the generally positive view of maintaining an open mind. Have you considered that my opinion has nothing to do with close-mindedness? No? That's close-minded. Have you considered that open-mindedness, being that it, by definition, must exclude the close-minded point of view is, paradoxically, close-minded? No? I'd assume you're smart enough to see what I'm saying, but that would be close-minded. I'll be open-minded about the possibility you're stupid.

  • Man i never noticed either, craziest goof ever.

  • lol. i wish some1 would do that to sean penn in real life

  • Haha, I was so focused on the fight, I didn't see the camera guy either until he was marked. But one would think that someone would have seen that during post-production.

  • i noticed the first time at first i thought he had a lot of seaters on his shu;lder then i looked agian haha

  • its like this big revalation and i was like "OHHHHHHHH OHHH!!"

  • Fail. I didn't notice it until the highlight. They're supposed to watch for stuff like that. I mean that one is so obvious...But hidden at the same time.

  • @Obsiviction Fail. You didn't notice it until the highlight. You're a fail.

  • @johnnyrocketisgod You're a typical, unoriginal, teen with nothing better to do with your life. You probably listen to very mainstream music. I'm not going to return to read the potentially 1,000 replies you'll post. Enjoy talking to yourself, because we all know you're going to reply.

  • come on you people, it could just be a prisoner with a camera.... righhhhhtttt....

  • hahaha awsome man..... :D

  • That also happened in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"!

  • @Snapboy7764 Where? I have the movie, but haven't noticed a cameraman... especially not one this obvious.

  • @kurvos When Draco and Harry were dueling and were supposed to be using disarming spells only. When Harry knocks Draco to Snape's feet, there is a camera man in the crowd to the left i beleive.

  • @Snapboy7764 Oh, that one... that doesn't count to me as the same, like you claim. In Harry Potter, he is hidden in the crowd - right out in the left corner. You can barely see him even if you know he's there. But here, it's so extremely obvious where he is once you know.

  • @kurvos I see what you mean.

  • Anybody else think of the "Moonwalking Bear?"

  • JUST LIKE IN ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIES FILMED FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO'S SEEN THE TEN COMMAMENTS WHEN MOSES IS PARTING THE RED SEAS ONE OF THE GLADIATORS IS WAREING A WATCH.

  • GOD! how did the "pros" in editing not catch that?!

  • @DavidDietzII They probably did, but probably wanted/needed to use the shot for continuity/pacing/aesthetic reasons. A lot of mistakes in movies have to be left in because they can't be edited around.

  • Pretty nice catch but it seems to be hard to spot and the guy is there for like 2 seconds LOL ROFL OMFG!!! :D

  • it's just because they didn't have cameras in their phones

  • lmao i really didnt notice that.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHa i feel so stupid

  • obviously the guy wanted to upload the fight on youtube

  • funny how it was so obvious but no one noticed... probably how it got past editing, no one there noticed either... still crazy thought that they were not more careful.

  • maybe just a reporter was there with a camera men and that camera men was just filming all the action

  • @ludvig09 ..... in a prison? And you suggest he wouldn't do anything? And that he would be so close to the guys fighting til death? He is closer than anyone else in the audience.

  • ....... NOT A CORN DOG .......

C'mon people, do you really think that they would fight over a corn dog... And anyway, IF you think it's a corn dog, how do you explain how the one guy stabs the other guy with it??

It's called a shank... Basically, it's a sharpened piece of metal with a wooden handle...

The mistake is the cameraman clearly sitting in the background..

  • @AnnoyedWalrus01 : Time to get your joke detector calibrated.

  • plus theres two grown men fighting over a corn-dog. thats just plain silly.

  • What ? its just a standard prison camera crew. ALL prisons have them

  • omg how did the filmmakers not notice lol

  • wao

  • wow, I didn't notice at al until it was pointed out!

  • lol

  • wow, that's a mistake that Ed Wood would make.

  • I never saw the movie, but are you sure the story didn't call for a cameraman with camera? If not - I agree, this is really bad.

  • @NebetSeta Yep, no cameraman. This was a definite flub.

  • omg that was soooo obvious

  • .. epic fail...

  • watch?v=Mgf3xEOYCts 0:51 same thing

  • hahahahahahahahaqhaqhahahahahahaha

  • still not as bad as jurrasic park in my opinion, where a cliff suddenly appears from nowhere.

  • @BobDawg173 That one is worse, in my opinion, as well. The T-Rex comes out of the JUNGLE on the GROUND, out of the fence, but when the characters go over it, it's a sudden drop-off? WTF?

  • Mr. Rosenthal talks about the editing mistake, in the movie's commentary.

P.s. It would be really funny, if before there were all the stupid camera phones, if all the idiots that now record real fight with their phones, actually recorded real fights with actual movie cameras back then...

Editing mistake or not, this movie is one of the best movies ever made.

  • anyone saying it was recorded intentionally - watch the movie, its set in a prison. Not too many cameras in there.

Still this is a great movie.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • ahh primitive movies, you gotta love them, especially the apes that directed movies.

  • son caradura porque si o si alguno se habra dado cuenta del error pero por caraduras no quisieron volver a hacer la scena XDXDXD

  • haha i didn't even notice it!

  • ok, i can understand getting the camera guy's foot or like part of the camera in the shot, BUT HE WHOLE FRIGGING CAMERA GUY WITH THE CAMERA?!?! that's just redic.

  • haha, and i doubt that it was intentional, because the cameraman has a guy assisting him so he is knocked down by the crowd or bumps into anything

  • Is this really a movie mistake? It could just be some dude in the movie recording the fight, maybe for a news channel or something. if it was based in the medieval times or something that would be a different story

  • ITS NOT AS BAD AS THE SCABS ON PENNS FACE. THEY COMPLETELY FLOAT AROUND HIS FACE!!! in the scenes following the car accident

  • :OOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol

  • oh no 4th wall broke :(

  • Ha I didnt even notice

  • Maybe they intentionally showed that the fight is being filmed in the movie, what's the big deal ?

  • i didnt notice at first so i guess people only pay attention to the fight

  • This reminds me of OZ on HBO

  • Hey, it was the 80s. the editor was probably nose deep in cocaine.

  • It's a pretty bad mistake, but it seems like a lot of people didn't see it until it was highlighted!

    I know I missed it!

  • hahaha I have this movie and seen this movie several times and never saw that..

  • I see 2 guys fighting, many cheering one guys is filming. So where's the goof? Back then that was a normal size home videocamera.

  • @nadoeloiskat in 1970s video cameras were quite small, look up some footage of JFK where you can see cameras filming, home cameras were never the size that the one in the video is

  • @2010blackhawkdown You're Da Goof! =))

  • @nadoeloiskat LMAO

  • I thought the knife was a corndog (facepalm)

Remind me to dye my hair so no one knows im a blonde

  • where is the mess up?

  • @stillrob420 you can see the camera man really clearly, its even highlighted in this vid

  • @2010blackhawkdown lol, sarcasm

  • @2010blackhawkdown and if that's the cameraman where did the angle we're viewing come from?

  • @mrsparkle001 you do no they dont shoot a movie with only one camera right? :|

  • @sammygirl143 True. Having never seen this movie though I just assumed the cameraman was part of the scene, a bystander filming the fight. It's just too obvious a goof for me to think otherwise :)

  • @mrsparkle001 there is more than one camera man in films, its easier to get different angles with different camera men than it is to have one man run around

  • @2010blackhawkdown It's such an obvious goof that was easier for me to believe he's supposed to be in the shot as someone filming the fight. When I watch the scene again though I can see the angles he shot.

It's not like other movie goofs where a crewman accidentally winds up in the shot in the background; in this one he's right there. How did the director not catch that?

  • Dude, what are u talking about, thats just the janitor. clearly the janitor and nothing else.

  • I was staring at the blood that was disappearing and reappearing between shots

  • No way

  • Oh, I see it now. 0:17

  • "Did you see the moon-walking bear?"

Didn't see the camera guy the first time around.

  • or maybeee they are brodcasting the fight! haha i got no clue never seen this movie

  • Holy shit

  • Oops! Yeah, its a mistake, there would be no reason why a guy with a professional grade camera would have been there. I guess it goes to show how much focus was on the fight, I didn't see it the first time through.

  • @xxLimbo85xx It's not part of the movie. It wouldn't make any sense in the plot.

Really one of the worst goofs!

  • lol

  • omg how did they not edit that out

  • Ha!! seen that movie a bunch of time... never caught that. Hilarious

  • i love seeing that stuff.....anything that makes the movie imperfect, only makes it better. makes me want to watch some troma.

  • epic battle !

  • yeah that's a big no no there

  • oh that a really bad one now i feel like im watching a wrestling match lol

  • I saw the cameraman, but i thought that was part of the movie =P

  • I thought the mistake was when he tries to reach for the stabbing thingy his hand totally falls over it and then the next scene shows he cant reach it, but then i saw the camera man.

  • FAIL SO FUCKING OWNED

  • I didn't see it D:

  • hahahahahaha

  • Really? I mean... just REALLY?! You guys know it's called... EDITING?! Right? If your going to make a mistake at LEAST Try to edit it out. Who made this movie anyway?

  • Yeah but like they said, **nobody** caught this in post production, or at the screenings??

  • Maybe it was no mistake. Perhaps there really was a convict among the others who's a film enthusiast and just likes too capture anything interesting :-) hehe.

  • hahahaha

  • Witness the power of the Suspense of Disbelief.

  • wow its like proof that magic exist and we are just blind to it

    ]

  • Wow, totally didn't notice it first time around. I'm guessing the editor was under a tight schedule and it just blended into the crowd when he looked at it.
