We already have it in Mexico in the streets and it is beautiful indeed, but the fifth generation Jetta (Bora in Mexico) is better equiped and have better materials in the interiors. For instance, the fifth generation have independent rear suspension, while the new one comes with a beam axle. Also, the fifth generation have disc brakes in the four corners and the new one have drums in the rear wheels, at least the basic version. It still be a great car, but it feels a little bit cheap compared...

I like it! The only things i don't like are the climate controls, they are dials ugly ugly ugly, just change them to rotary knobs, and the 2.5 is nice but it isn't the best with gas and i personally think they should bring back the 1.8T( it would probably get the same hp and torque, but offer 30+ highway milage) , in the golf and jetta.... I LOVE this car besides those 2 things...

Quattro and 4motion are physically different systems- the jetta is transverse and uses a haldex setup (4motion if you will), the a4s are longitudinal and use quattro. The quattro cars are full time awd, the haldex cars have electronically controlled hydraulic setups to regulate rwd use, and can be fully fwd. Different systems.

I think that this car is car is amazing for the price(less than 20k) it really worth it.

It's a German car so it has great performance,great handling and a great design(the front is a little simple) and i just don't get why so many people is complaining that this model sucks and that they want the old mk4 back, obviously they talk about the mk4 1.8 turbo(because the 2.0 was really slow)well this model will have a 2.0 turbo with 200 horsepower ,a dsg transmission and you can have the gli version.

I think they have completely ruined the fun factor of the jetta. It now looks American and very plain and boring. I thought would never ever say this but the ford fusion sh*ts on this. Sorry VW you guys ate shi* on this one. I have an 08 Gli Lease, I was really looking forward to leasing another jetta but not anymore. Guess Ill be going to Audi for sure now, even though Audi always will be my favorite but it's just an expensive VW. But oh well.

@05Forenza The jetta is a jetta, the A4 is an A4 two different cars from two different brands. Ill take the Audi because it has quattro, is original, and not a car that wants to look like another car. The interiors are not exactly the same, they may be similar but not the same. I live in the midwest and snow is a big deal, jetta was terrible in snow, I would get stuck in the turning lane all the time. I liked the jetta before because it looked like its own car, very different than most cars.

@barrackyomamma the mkiv was the best designed jetta ever devised. not the best built, but best designed. for its time, it was a head turner. indigo dash lights... twist and set sunroof... a clear evolution from the mk3. light and fast (except the 2.slow). it looks awesome in silver and black. the mkV was vw's attempt at going after japanese car buyers. and the mk6 is there attempt at restoring their german roots. my guess is that the mk7 will see the jetta come home.

The rear half is similar to the existing jetta but with A4 lights. The front isn't much different from the new golf ... Which is an expected trend with VW. Very conservative but cool design.

That´s really frustrating. The idea was to have the concept coupe as an inspiration for the Jetta.What we actually see is that the rear looks like an A4, which is realy good. But the front is more like an European Polo, whereas the external mirrors and the dashboard seemed to have come from the Brazilian Voyage, which is a subcompact car. Why didn´t Volks used the same interior of the Jetta Sportswagen? It should have worked better.
