  • Solidarity with the citizens ... Real Canadian Superstore is a Canadian store. Owned completely by Canadians. Headquartered in Canada. And staffed by Canadians. Flags get damaged and they get replaced. It happens.

  • ur a big fat gay asshole

  • Oh no, the flag is ripped!!!! What will we do?!! Maybe it's all that wind. Relax, the flag is a SYMBOL just like the word "CANADIAN" in Real Canadian Super Store is a symbol. It doesn't mean crap.

  • I definately have to laugh at this due to the fact that I work there. The flag situation isn't really the stores fault. As people have mentioned flags don't last forever and well i can tell you there is alot of extra stuff in the store but extra flags aren't in there so we have to order a new one and get it shipped to us. Not our fault! Half a flag is better than no flag. No offense but I'm positive there are bigger concerns out there other than a ripped flag just saying.

  • torn , rugget , raggy, tried ,tested and true. canadian even our flag takes lickin and keeps on tickin.

  • Half-mast = half-flag. It's perfectly logical.

  • as long as it's showing the maple leaf i don't care

  • just voicing his opinion, about how superstore management can be, complacent, which they are. When pointing out that a car is parked in a traffic Island, or the shopping carts is put in an shopping cart lane too far out that it became a traffic barrier in the tight enough parking lot, pan handlers pan handling for money hassling the customer, it was brought to their attention, you get a shrug of shoulder and a sorry, we will deal with it, just later while they pester other customers.

  • @fuckednuts it's because the store itself cannot do anything about it. I work in a superstore. this is all regional head office stuff to deal with. they do what they can and apologize to you and be nice. in the end its up to head office to do what they want.

all I know is that when our flags ripped awhile back, we got new ones. so its not all superstore/loblaw/westfair foods regional districts that are as yours is.

  • Useless

  • your and idiot the flags probably got ripped up in that days crazy wind. fail.

  • Rant about a real problem dude. Torn up flags are only as symbolic as you make them.

  • I know this video is old but i just wanted to say i share the same feeling. I hate seeing our flag torn up

  • Out of all the problems in the world, SUPESTORE's torn flags...

That's the least of their worries buddy. They have customers and so much more to be worrying about.

  • : D I live in Prince Albert. I even work in the Superstore here Right in the Bakery .

  • they get them repaired when they are ripped like that, give them a chance.

  • is this the superstore at st james winnipeg

  • Does anyone else hear how windy it is? Maybe the wind tore the flag and it wasn't superstores anti-flag workers. I'm sure that as soon as you tell them and the wind dies down they'll fix it right up.

  • are you serious?

  • HOoker cashiers that are goophee

  • do u live in edmonton

  • You took the time to make this video but you didn't take the time to talk to the store manager and ask WHY they aren't being replaced.

Perhaps it could be that they are about $1000 per flag and they have to come in on special order? We will never know, but maybe ASK to find out. It sure doesn't look good on behalf of superstore though, but the only person that is crying is you.

  • is this the south common store in edmonton?

  • listen to the wind. Most likely this is Calgary. We get massive winds and the flags take over a month to order. And we would get more shit for not flying them.

  • The buses are ETS. Its Edmonton.

  • Don't bitch bout it. Its probably just a mistake.

  • you got the time buddy to bitch and moan about it, get up there and fucking change it.

    dumbass

  • hey man i work at the Real Canadian Superstore (not the one in the video) it not our fault we cant change a flag as quick as we can cuz we got a lot of other things to worry about at work other than a flag thats ripped. yes canada kicks ass and all but when it comes down to a flag well u may as well make a video about every other flag thats ripped in all of canada and call them un-canadian as well! like come on thats sad that u made a blog about a ripped flag.

  • true north you are a true idiot

  • he's just jealous it's not his store.

  • You will fucking live !! deal with it you fat ass hole and get a life, and stop complaining about every fucking little thing ! there is alot bigger problems in this country then a riped flag !! Fuck

  • hmmm, you have taken the time to complain about my complaint on a video from over a year ago. don't you think there are bigger problems in this country than a youtube video?

and please if you are going to use profanity, try to mix it up a bit, fuck is nice but 3 times is too much.

  • @TrueNorth15 its just a flag. Who cares

  • Your patriotism is admirable, but filming torn flags in the middle of a wind storm is hardly a scandal! Do you think flags last forever? They're exposed to the elements 24x7, and deteriorate over time. It's pretty obvious that the end panels of both flags detached due to the wind. Now...if you'd been a responsible 'journalist', you could have filmed it again over the next few weeks to see how long it took to replace the flag....then you'd have something. Now stop wasting our time.

  • you wasted my time by posting this comment, so now we're even

  • @TrueNorth15 Actually, they gave you constructive criticism. You shot it down and did not provide any rebuttal or argument whatsoever.

  • You are a retard, how long do you think it takes for a flag to rip? You are taping in heavy winds a flag can rip in 1 day do you know how long it takes to order a new flag or to replace one? Do you have any kind of life what so ever that you would tape this?

  • Not surprised being it the Canadian $hittystore.

  • Your right about tht man it's an insult to the country.

  • Whoa talk about the super store not having any class for remembering the fallen heroes.

  • Superstore is slumming it, as usual.

  • how long were the flags in that condition? was the tear caused by the wind that day?

  • Thats nothing! You should see the flag at the 5th Wheel Truck Stop in Dorchester Ontario. You cant even tell it used to be a flag. Brutal

  • thats just wrong mike81

  • What a scandal! Sarcasm, by the way.

  • that's a load of crap because the superstores in edmonton calgary grande prairie i have been in have perfectly flying flags.

another idiotic excuse to spew crap on youtube

  • if it is a load of crap then explain the ripped flags in the video gary.

  • oh my god! thats looks terrible. i also have noticed flags that are torn up and look terrible. they should be changed but people dont notice them.

  • haha this is hilarious. i work at the superstore in yorkton saskatchewan and our canadian flag was ripped in the exact same way for a few weeks but they ended up fixing it

  • It's probably the wind.

  • Galen Westin is far too busy selling shopping bags to worry about the flags! Yes, it really looks pathetic but not surprising. BTW, CONSERVATIVES SUCK. Great video.

  • is this store calgary or edmonton?

  • edmonton

  • ahah whaaat?! is that south common?!

    but yea i hear you..

    damn president choice nazi's

  • i pray oh Lord our God, please help me to depart from my country to Canada to work there in Real Canadian Superstore. see my video edited by serching BELBER.

  • I've seen this far too many times.

  • Man...they might as well just not fly the flag.

  • Agreed entirely!

Nice to see you out and about despite that weather. All bundled up like the True Canadanian Man you are :D

You belong out hunting, its Awesome!

  • You know, IF it's Superstore.... I bet they have a Canadian flag on the shelves that they could pull right off, and hoist up there. Yeah, it's a shame that no one addressed it. Did you go in and tell them to change it? Just curious.

  • no not since I realized they went to the effort to put them at half staff this week, if they didn't notice that then they are blind

  • I've told store owners about the condition of there flags before and gotten looked at funny, or told to get lost, if I don't have business to do with them...

  • I dunno for me I would do away with flags all together. Flags have a long history of misleading the people. Any tyrant can take control of the state and wave the flag of patriotism to get the people to commit to violence in its defense. People should instead should be taught what a nation's bedrock principles and philosphies are and to those principles should they swear their patriotism not to a flag.

  • I understand where you're coming from, I think though that there is still room for flags without getting abused

  • amen

  • I thought that's how the Alberta flag always looked, except with more cows on it

  • if I wasn't so busy eating an entire cow raw I'd come over there :P

  • are you tired of me making fun of your backwoods nowhereprovince yet?

  • No where province? Tristan, it is The Wealthiest Province in Canada! Debt free, in the profits! That is NOT no where!

  • It's extreme lack of Toronto makes it so

  • toronto? who needs toronto?

  • um, B.C. has about the same cash but without all the pollution. Not to mention it IS the bible belt of Canada

  • could be worse our economy is soaring, and we haven't had to worry about a corrupt provincial government nearly bankrupting the province. besides we keep most of our fundies to the south

  • Your fundies are basically everywhere BUT Edmonton.

Corrupt governments don't always bring outright bankruptcy. Klein wasn't exactly clean himself.

  • like the BC NDP were any better how many scandals was it?

we have the strongest economy in the country partly because of tough decisions that were made by his government.

also try again on the distribution of the fundies, you will primarily find them in the small farming communities in the south

  • Never denied that the NDP was wrong at all, but I think they have learned.

You have a good economy because of your oil. Government doesn't have as much effect on economy as it likes to think.

Small communities in the north have nuts too. It seems that, in North America, only large cities have any moderate religious people, liberals, or atheists.

  • then you should get to know people from the smaller communities, I've met more than a few liberals and moderates from small towns, there's even an few atheists out there in those communities

  • I'm speaking in general. There are exceptions. However, Northern Alberta (minus Edmonton) is not one of those exceptions. Why else would they vote for the Conservatives?

  • probably the same reasons that most of BC voted conservative federally and elected a right of center party provincially

  • BC voted less than half Conservative, actually. And they voted in the Liberals because they wanted any alternative to the NDP. The Liberals were the only party that could beat them.

  • there are more conservatives than any other federal party in BC and you need to examine why the NDP needed to be beaten

  • between liberals and NDP, there are more federal non-conservatives than others. And they're losing ground here, thank no-god.

I know why the NDP needed beating then. But they've improved, provincially.

  • well of course the NDP improved, they have been denied the power that they abused horribly and so can't misbehave as badly.

there are more conservative seats than the other 2, the NDP are a joke and the Liberals managed to scandalize themselves out of the majority

  • They should get new flags or just not fly them. Sad.

  • Agreed. How much does a flag cost? 20-50 bucks? Are they so cheap that they can't buy more flags?

  • those are probably a bit more, I was quite a ways away when I took this, these are extremely large flags I'd guess 5-6 times as large as a regular size

  • Oh, wow that is massive.

  • tornado comin

  • hehehe
