  • I've been addicted to this yummy fruit since I was a little girl when my mom introduced them to me. But here they sell them seasonally. Does anyone know when it starts?

  • I picked these up years ago 5 for a dollar lol. I like trying new things. The taste was awesome but the seeds were annoying.

  • wow annoying.

  • hey guys i have a pricky pear in my yard and we got it from my friend and i want to know how to plant them if anyone got some information about it and stuff plz reply ty

  • here in texas we can just walk in our backyard to get a prickly pear

  • man those look really good! looks kinda like it would taste kiwiish.. definitely seems to have the same consistency! thanks for sharing

  • hey you need to peel it and eat the seeds

  • ah? so funy when somethng so common for some one is so extravagant for another

  • i eat it with the seeds. super delicious

  • Man, that was a big prickly pear and a funny video

  • Eww, ever heard of parasites??!! I got one from eating a pear from a corner stand!! DONT DO IT!!!!!

  • i don't blame granny. pointing and mumbling are helluh fun especially simultaneously

  • lol that would hurt haveing a cactus growing in your stomach

  • Really ._.

  • Excessive editing - holy crap!

  • almost all cactus make fruit!!

    tis no suprise XD

  • you don't have to eat the green ones because it's cause constipation, you have to eat only the reddish, orange, or the yellow ones.

    thanks for the ved ;)

  • i love it, i think its delicious.

  • It is really easy to eat, cut the ends off and make a slit down side. Then skin comes off easy. Awesome fruit.

  • Dang,

I grow and sell those fruits (organically certified of course), and the leaves too.

    This is a ringing endorsement!

    Thanks!

  • en peru eso es tuna es rico

y no se come asi primero se pela se saca la cascara y se come

    es delicioso

  • ahh...pues también hay tunas en peru, riquisimas que estan, eh?!!!

  • nigger

  • funny

  • by hahaha i meant she's awesome :I_I

  • omg tht old lady hahaha!!!! do u no her?

  • In México they make "queso de tuna" or prickly pear cheese. That's not how you're supposed to peel it. Cut both ends, then cut along, then peal the rest of the skin that's in the middle apart......and ENJOY. Don't eat too many cause your ass can clog by the seeds though..

  • Madd seed right

  • I picked up one of the cactus pears and now i have about 10 splinters in each hand and they seem to multiply and my friend randomly got a splinter. :(

  • Beautiful face but the ring in your lip is very distracting. I do like your vid though 4*s

  • i think it looks cool

  • God you are cute! The eyes, the mimics, wow, you're adorable!

  • Cactus jelly, so amazing. My mom used to make it.

  • cactus jelly?!?!? that sounds incredible!!

  • look at 0:47 hmm good!!!!

  • hahahaha. that was really funny!!!! you're so random. I <3 cacti. hehehe.

  • I've tried this fruit before.....personally it is nothing special....the taste isn't anything spectacular but it's not a bad fruit

  • Hey chick if ya like prick pears try a paw paw yummy fukn yum day good!

  • LOL, this is the first time i've ever seen a non-Hispanic eat a prickly pear!!

In mexico they are called "Tunas" that's the plural form, take the "s" off and you've got singular.

Its a lot easier to enjoy them if you cut off the tops and make a cut from top to bottom that's only as deep as the skin, then you just peel the skin off and you grab it and eat : )

Try not to chew the seeds, just kinda mash them up without actually biting them and then swallow.

I love prickly pears a.k.a Tunas XD

  • Thats how you eat them!?!? omgsh! I had no idea! lol

  • I guess its a Hispanic thing, lol. I'm thinking about putting up a vid just to show what i meant, haha

They sure are yummy though : )

  • seriously do it!!

  • @johnperez4628 I can eat a box of the things in a couple of days. I eat the seeds and the sweetpulp in the centre. Im white as sin, and in Canada no less. Mexicans have taste because theyre an awesome fruit.

  • @johnperez4628 In Arizona we skewer the tuna with a stick or a skewer and singe the skin quickly over a fire and then cut it open. This burns off the tiny burrs off of it and makes it as easy to handle as an apple. Afterwards, cut it open, peel the skin and enjoy. Very tasty fruit.

  • How does it feel to be so beautiful?

  • I use spoons to eat those too! Here in AZ, we not only have cactus fruit, but we have cactus FRIES, and cactus JELLIE! Yep! Cactus JELLIE! It's TOTALLY epic! And hilarious to think that someone would charge for that stuff... But hey, in AZ we trip over it.

I'll never forget the time I saw prickly pear leaves for sale in a Los Angeles grocery store for 3.29 a pound. I was like WHAAAAAT? My grandma would be RICH!(prickly pear FOREST in her front yard. FOREST.)

  • Ahhh!!! it was so delicious!! I wish I had them lying about in my yard!!... I think I only paid $1 for a four so not bad!

  • TO MUCH WORDS

  • I love it when they pierce their lips like that. It looks like the cover of Bass Fishing Magazine or something. It actually would be funnier if she put a fishing hook in her lip and had some fishing line hanging off of it.

  • bahaha!! soo truee! that would be hallarious! xD

  • "it was an accident" hahaha that was so hilarious!!

  • I love this video. You made me laugh really hard. This makes me want to try one,

  • What did the old lady say :P ?

  • She said "It'll be growing in your tummy!" It made me laugh bc she didn't know I was filming!

  • yahhy u used a spoon!!!1!!!10nE!!!!!

  • are you from the north? i can totally hear it in your voice. where from??!?! :)

  • haha, yes I grew up in Rochester NY

  • funniest at 1:44 through 1:51

  • your GRANDMOTHER is so hot!!!

  • its a cactus thats a fruit lol

  • Yeah, that was pretty funny!

"Whoops, got it on the computadora!"

  • This video was really really good!!! I hope you make more responses to our videos in the future :D (-John)

  • hahahaha, A little back alley fruit stand. I think I would be terrified by the sketchiness of a back alley fruit stand because the fuirt would then no longer be cactus fruit, but SOMETHING ELSE INTIRELY. O_O

  • hahaha, good response.

  • she's cute except that piercing is like -200 and I used to eat cactus fruit when i used to live in africa, man that stuff was good

  • YOU ARE HILARIOUS! Love the editing skillz, by the by.

  • oooh cool! there were so many seeds! i mean, it was good but the seeds made it hard to enjoy.

did you get any splinters in your hands?? i got most of mine out!

  • I agree!! the seeds were the most annoying part... too bad they can't invent a hybrid seedless cactus fruit, like seedless grapes...

I actually didn't get splinters (I'm sry you did tho!)... the people that set up the fruit stand grew the fruit themselves so they cleaned them off really good before selling them to me!

  • yes they are good.....

  • NICE!

Did the two different colors taste any different?

Kinda like how red apples taste different from green?

  • Actually they did! The red was sweeter but had WAY more seeds. Each kind was DELICIOUS though!

  • Hahaha awesome.

  • haha, that's funny, i think i'm going to go find a cactus fruit

  • DO IT!! they're soo delicious...seriously I'm addicted now!

  • haha, this was cute :]
