  • Doesn’t every child have the right to have somebody who loves them?

It’s love that makes a family, but it’s marriage that protects it.

    YouTube Title

Ask a Gay Family Ep. 1 Is Daniel Disabled

  • Thank you, Ms Argus. That was beautiful and very moving. I wish I had the courage to come out to my own family. If only they were as supportive as you are.

  • MsEndure2end is a spam user just so everyone is aware.

  • @soyntgo4it

    Peace.

  • I wish this was my grandma she is amazing!! <3 Nothing is wrong with gay marriage we have a right to love who we want and if they want to get married who the fuck cares??? Gay marriage should be allowed in all 50 states! I dont understand why it isnt

  • This is REALLY GAY

Shariah Law is coming! Can't stop it!

  • No matter age, race or gender. Love is love. And I love this lady even though I don´t know her.

  • @DaveEvert

No matter age, race, or gender, marriage is ordained of God only between a man and a woman. It's the foundation of our society.

  • <3

  • That was beautiful and courageous. I say sobbing tearfully. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

  • Bless you, lady.

  • That was beautiful :'D

  • You are beautiful!! God bless you and your family!

  • Thank you sooo much!! I wish my parents were as accepting as u r!!

  • Applause!!! I could just hug you!

  • Our Government shouldn't even be involved with the marriage issue at all its ridiculous how much they like to control they way we want to live, isn't this the land of the FREE? We should be able to live the lives we want to within reason of course. So what if a man loves a man or a woman loves a woman they want to express their love further and get married why stop it? Its crazy. Even the Churches need stop the bigotry times have changed.

  • @soyntgo4it

It's not a trend in fashion. It's God's law which is unchanging. He is a God of morality.

  • @soyntgo4it

Nothing is more important than the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Comment removed

  • @MsEndure2end Unchanging, right. Which is why you still stone women for expressing their opinion in the public square.

  • @iruparatso

I'm sorry. I thought you understood that God is unchanging, but it is people who change. Public stoning was of course a vicious human invention. God is merciful, yet He expects us to live as close to Christlike as we can.

I'm thankful to have the gospel as a guide.

  • Lady, YOU ROCK!

  • love her haha <3

  • You go Grandma.

  • Why are people still clinging to this permanent marriage man woman house garage dog lifestyle? No one has money or jobs, there are more divorces than not, and no one is happy right now with how things are going. Why can't people look at there hang ups and judgements and just say "fuck it I could die tomorrow let me love and have fun!"

  • @Dharmabum9287

"Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die" was thought of long before you. It's a foolish and short-sided way to think. Think it through and have hope that our good works will honor Christ and will effect us in the hereafter.

  • I love you!

  • This is a woman, a mother, a grandmother, who took the time to think things over. She's a wonderful example of what the word 'family' truly means. BRAVO!!!!!

  • @raytodd8155

This woman compromised her principles because she loved her family.

  • @MsEndure2end ...to say that this woman, a woman that you don't even know, compromised her principles, is arrogant at best.

  • @raytodd8155

I don't think it's arrogant. After watching the video I observed that she had placed her family above her principles. Understandable, but not very brave.

  • @MsEndure2end ...you're insistent that she compromised her principles based on what you see only....but you don't know. It's an assumption of yours. She mentioned that it took her a good while to accept the news. Perhaps God spoke to her.

I suspect that this moment was a special one for the grandmother or else she wouldn't have done the vid. and you attempt to turn it into something else and call her out.....arrogant?? judgmental??

  • @raytodd8155

She compromised her principles, or lowered her standards if you prefer, as shown by her own words. She was brought up traditionally and was stunned, confused, angry and wondered what she had done wrong (1:38). That was her fork in the road in which she chose to be outraged against tradition because her children veered from it, and she is going down with them.

It takes no courage to compromise ones core values.

  • @MsEndure2end This clip was shown at my university and received a standing ovation that would not end. This woman speaks of love and truth. She is a true hero!

  • @slimfast67

A university education is extremely valuable when coupled with morality and faith.

  • @MsEndure2end What you view as morality and "faith", seem to be a very subjective matter. I live an a liberal, secular society in Europe, and your issues and views on the world would be percieved as extreme, bizare, and outdated. We've had civil marriage for LGBT people for years now, but not religious marriage which is on it's way any day now. But even in this discussion, moral and "faith" are not included in the discussion. It's more of a practicle matter.

  • @slimfast67

I'm sorry you feel that God's ways are weak and outdated. Far from it, I believe that God's ways are for everyone, but only for everyone that reaches out and accepts the gift.

  • @MsEndure2end Don't be sorry for me. I was raised to bellieve in Allah. Don't ever think that your religious views could be considered universal truth. Your beliefs are private, and should not be used to discriminate or stigmatize other minority groups in any country. As I said before, this woman is a true hero

  • @slimfast67

I meant that I'm sorry about your feelings toward God. I believe you have a right to choose whatever belief or faith that your heart desires. That does not change the fact that God is universal. God is for everyone. You may choose to believe in Him or not. I believe in Him with all my heart, and it follows that this Iowa grandmother is misguided. A true hero to me would stick to principles no matter what.

  • @MsEndure2end I am sorry, that you arren't able to accept the fact that the beliefs of some people shouldn't compromise the rights of another group of people. i bet this Iowa grandmother believes in God too, and I'm pretty sure she is sticking to her principles. God bless her!

  • @slimfast67

We will have to agree to disagree. You talk about compromise, but to compromise your principles is to surrender your integrity.

That's what makes a hero. The strength of character to abide by your principles even when it's unpopular or in the face of ridicule.

No doubt God loves this Iowa grandmother, and her wayward children as well. Yet I think God is clear that He will bless us if we repent of our sins.

Peace to you even if we can't agree.

  • @MsEndure2end Learning and growing is not compromise. She had a belief set that was based in ancient beliefs. She opened her heart and grew. It does take courage to stand up to the beliefs of your forefathers. It takes courage to open your mind when everyone around you will condemn you for it. It takes courage to face the thought of eternal damnation based on old beliefs and embrace love over condemnation. Yes she compromised her old beliefs, but in that compromise she grew

  • @laidbackbeau

Learning and growing is wise if it's in God. To veer from our Heavenly Father is not brave, but weak adherence to worldly beliefs and peer pressure, which is more like shrinking. True courage is adherence to God's commandments, loving as God would love without being ashamed of God's ways.

  • @slimfast67

For a reasonable clip about purity and chastity, see Virtuous Young Women, Mormon Messages. I love it!

  • Wow! We need more people like her!!! Speak up!!!!!!

  • GILF

  • I loved this. I don't know why, but things like this always seem so much more effective when an older man or woman says them.

  • I LOVE THIS LADY!

  • GO GRANDMA. 80 Year Old Grandmother Supports Gay Marriage Whooo Hooo

  • what a wonderful lady!

  • You have a Beautiful soul. Thank you so much for this!

  • Yes, MsEndure, it's too bad that you are led astray by fairy tale, belong to a false religion, and are bigoted against gays. Really, it's too bad... and sad.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Remember the parable of the man who closed his ears fearing he might understand with his heart and be converted? He didn't "fall for," the gospel. He chose instead to fall into forbidden paths, being ashamed of the scorn of his peers.

  • @MsEndure2end

Irrevelant. In this case I'm closing my ears to your false cult. Thanks anyhow.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

It is weak to criticize another's belief, instead, you should have the courage to state your belief.

  • @MsEndure2end

Weak? Hardly. One must always call out evil when one sees it... and you're in a cult.

    Evil!

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

God loves the sinner, but hates the sin.

We can change if we have the desire to do what's right.

  • @MsEndure2end

It's so funny how you think that you know the will of a god! Poor deluded soul. You're lost in mythology without a shred of truth.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Knowing the will of God is possible if you read. Prayer helps, too.

  • @MsEndure2end

    Part 2...

and as usual, you got basic science wrong. Sexual orientation is not a behavior to control. It's hard-wired into all of us... no matter what your false prophets say.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

God created us male and female, and homosexuality is learned. We can and must control our behavior, if we want to do what is right.

  • @MsEndure2end

No, you're lying again. You really shouldn't lie. Homosexuality is not learned. There's no evidence whatsoever that backs up your silly claim.

False mythology like yours has no place in science. As I've said before, it's so funny how you think you know a god's will... delusional.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Homosexuality is a learned behavior, a choice to do the wrong thing. God gave us the Bible so that we could know His will if we read.

  • @MsEndure2end

A learned behavior, huh? What mainstream, peer-reviewed studies can you cite to back up this silly claim?

Cuz if you have none, you need to STFU, as the kids say. It's the same as you lying.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

We come to this world created by Heavenly Father as male and female. We have the sacred privilege of creating life, and when we misuse that sacred power, it's a sin. Justifying the wrong behavior doesn't change that it's a selfish, shortsighted way to live.

  • @MsEndure2end

    More false doctrine from you!

How about those studies that back up your silly claim? Got any?

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Studies include the Bible and the Book of Mormon! Always remember and never forget about the law of chastity.

  • @MsEndure2end

But those are false books, and not scientific evidence. You've failed again, Ms. Endure.

By the way, how is your Evergreen group? And how's your therapy at LDS Family Services going? Managed to "pray away the gay", yet?

  • @MsEndure2end ....please enlighten me as to how you come to that conclusion. Dis you LEARN your lifestyle?

  • @raytodd8155

My conclusion that men and women are created that way, and homosexuality is learned, comes from my faith and knowledge in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Do you believe in God?

  • @MsEndure2end ....so there was a time in your life, where you came to a fork in the road, when you had to CHOOSE...because that's exactly what you're eluding to.

For what it's worth, I do believe in God but not so much in a book which many believers use to simply cast judgement on everyone else but themselves. A book penned by mortals and revised by other mortals to suit their needs.

  • @raytodd8155

Glad you believe in God. I believe in prophets, too, who are authorized to speak for God. Casting judgment is wrong, but keeping high moral standards can sometimes be misconstrued.

We were born either male or female, and it's veering off the path whether it is premarital sex, adultery, polygamy, or homosexuality. Marriage is a sacred union only between a man and a woman.

  • @MsEndure2end ...a sacred union that ends in divorce approx 55% of the time. Add to that the marriages that exist for financial reasons and for the children's sake. Yet it's homosexuals who are besmirched for attempting to infringe on it's sacredness.

It's very popular to rail against homosexuals as opposed to the the adulterer's simply because of the numbers. Hetero adulterer's chastising homosexuals presents a refuge for themselves.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Choice is not just a concept of freedom. Choice is choosing either God, or the adversary. I choose God.

  • @MsEndure2end

No, you have chosen a false cult, and you're completely lost.

  • Too bad.

  • im proud of you! speaking as a member of the human race

  • inspiring, beautiful, touching, i cried....thanks !!!!!!!!! ur Grandma rocks........she did good.

  • SHE IS AWESOME. I DON'T KNOW HER BUT I ALREADY LOVE HER.

  • I love you Grandma. I love you.

  • :)

  • Beautiful.

  • @KindaGayBlog im glad you commented on this so i could see it too. your faithful sub & YT friend (ok im a lil drunk so...) Tim

  • Civil gay marriage doesn't impact the way that ANYONE practices their religion. Therefore, religion has NO right to restrict the rights of gays/LGBTQ's.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

As a believer in what is right and good and wholesome, I have a right to stand up against immorality, and vote if I have to, in order to keep immoral practices from being sanctioned by law.

  • @MsEndure2end

Again, avoiding the question, which is..... how does civil gay marriage impacts the way that you practice your religion???

You're still too cowardly to answer....

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Here we go again. Please see previous comments.

I never tire, though, of confessing my love of Christ, my faith in Heavenly Father, and do strive daily to become a better citizen.

  • @MsEndure2end

Yes, here we go again with YOU avoiding the question.

Your previous comments did not answer the question asked. You're either a fool, or you're being an ass... which is it?

  • @MsEndure2end I'm glad that you strive daily to become a better citizen. I'm hoping that within your daily routine of becoming a better citizen, you accept people who cannot control their sexual orientation and have nothing to do with you practicing your own religion, or do anything related to what you do in your personal life.

  • @Seraliena

Sure we are effected. We are all in this human condition together, and we can help each other. I have no doubt that our behaviors can be controlled.

  • You go grandma! :D

  • What a brave woman. It takes a lot for older generations to keep their minds open because of the values they were instilled with as children and the way they were brought up.

  • thumbs up if chris crocker brought you here..

  • Well done. This is just what it's required. Thank you.

  • I like this video X3

  • @MsEndure2end why does marriage have to be between a man and woman? Are we living in the same time era as when Jesus was alive? Are we the same people who were alive back then? Are you the object of possession for a man now like you would have been back then? NO. This is the 21st Century, stop living in the past, or would you liked to be stoned to death because you're a woman who speaks her mind, which back then was not allowed? (This is not a threat or anything, just a few factoid questions.)

  • @tomimatty2 Marriage is ordained to be between a man and a woman by our Heavenly Father with respect to the law of chastity. Clearly any sex outside of marriage is a sin, whether it's homosexual, adulterous, or premarital.

God is unchanging. Sure our society changes, but God is stable.

  • There is no institution in all of Western Civilization that has tortured, bullied, lied to, molested, murdered, or impoverished more people than the Catholic Church. And the Vatican continues the constant stream of hate unabated. I would think people would be ashamed to admit in public that they are a Catholic. This lady is an admirable exception.

  • so much win....in so many ways...

  • you are so awesome!!!!!!!

  • you are awesome =)

  • Thank you for being such a cool grandmother!

  • This video is incredible! You are an example to everyone who watches this.

  • Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

  • you do that thang girl. good speech, real talk.

  • Hmmm what in the world could you have done wrong?? OH YEAH! GREAT SCOTT WOMAN YOU DIDN'T TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THE TRUTH ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY! YOU HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO BE ANGRY! The devil has clouded your judgement!

  • Thank you, Ms. Argus! You are a fine, loving parent who's been through a great journey of acceptance. It's not an easy journey for traditionally-raised people to take.

Let's hope that, in the near future, "tradition" includes accepting beautiful lgbtq persons for who we are.

  • This moved me to tears. I came out to my grandmother around 2 years ago and at first she is extremely disapproving of it. In fact she was really homophobic. But she slowly learned that nothing really changed and I'm still her grand daughter. She supports me now and is even approving of the idea that I get married with a girl some day. Being honest with her made me realize that we're still a family and this made us closer together. I hope people could see that this is nothing but love. Not a sin

  • I wish my Nana were as accepting, she is just like the grandmother in "Prayers for Bobby" she told me that is I was gay "I would shoot you and believe me I don't mind going to jail for attempted murder or even murder if it puts another 'fag' in the ground!" and when I heard that, I knew I would possibly never be able to come out to her and be truly happy. I just hope that her ideas have changed for the better...

  • Ur just precious...Im from Parkersburg, West Virginia...Ur Mom was from Parkersburg, Iowa...Who would have ever thought that she would have U and U would have a Gay son then post this and touch a Gay man with Ur words across the United States...The Internet is sooo amazing and so are U

  • parenting: you're doing it right.

  • It is so kind of this woman to love her son, but her emotional attachments don't change God's law of chastity. I have no problem with the homosexual as an individual, but the immoral behavior of sex outside of marriage is wrong. I'm glad she loves her family, but should not be condoning sin.

  • @MsEndure2end What's wrong with you?? Sin?? Really? Not everyone is a Christian. Therefore, your or any other Christian's religious views should not dictate the way this woman's son lives his life. As a Christian myself, I will pray that you someday find the strength to let go of your prejudices and realize that you as a person shold not be privileged to marry just because you are straight. EVERYONE, gay or straight, should have the right to be with the person they love.

  • @DanceStaff07 Sure, love is eternal and Christlike. Just only call if marriage if it's between a man and a woman.

  • Let's remember that Jesus had two dads, and He would be the first one to officiate at a gay wedding! The Lord loves the gays. Why argue with Him?

  • @GodCreatesGays2

That is oversimplifying the sacredness of Christ's life. As we celebrated His virgin birth at Christmas we were reminded that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, not by Joseph.

The Lord loves gays, adulterers, molesters, thieves, even murderers! That doesn't mean he approves of their behavior.

  • @MsEndure2end, of course, Jesus, like most of us, is rational enough to understand the difference between two consenting adults loving each other, and the acts of rape and murder.

    Just sayin'.

  • @GodCreatesGays2

Jesus, as I do, obeys God, who did not say that consenting adults could do whatever they felt like. God said it must be between a man and a woman, and I agree and obey.

  • @MsEndure2end Cool, just stay out of other peoples' business and let them fucking marry. Not Everyone is a Christian.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

Not everyone is a Christian, but Christ loves everyone just the same. Regardless of peoples' beliefs, let them mind their own business as long as we keep marriage only between a man and a woman.

  • @MsEndure2end Who is it hurting?

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

Sin never was happiness. Meaning, we hurt ourselves when we sin. It's important, I think, to keep our morals and standards high and in line with God's will.

  • @MsEndure2end So, stopping them from marrying will make them straight? LOL, it's people like you that caused the Dark Ages.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

Protecting marriage will protect marriage. If anyone chooses immorality, they should not be rewarded for it.

Homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality, as is adultery, and premarital sex, sins that can be repented of.

  • @MsEndure2end So, just because you "know" YOUR god is real, by default everyone has to be forced to follow its inane doctrines? Do you have any argument outside of religion, against gay marriage? Because I'm not buying your "God" bullshit. Excuse my language, but if there is no other argument besides religion, the default should be allow gay marriage.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

    Marriage is a religious issue.

  • @MsEndure2end Only because you make it.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

Respect for marriage, which was ordained of God from the beginning, is at the heart of the issue. Marriage stabilizes families so that children can be raised with male and female parents, as created by God. Marriage must be defined this way, otherwise we wrongly open the door to polygamy, polyandry, incest, and child marriage.

  • @MsEndure2end Oh the old gateway argument. Really? So, gay marriage is that ridiculous that it will cause that? To me, as long as they are consenting adults it is fine by me. And quit proclaiming your faith as fact. Because it has been well established I am not accepting religious arguments. And quite frankly neither should the U.S.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

That is a good way to refer to it: The "gateway argument," which is valid. That's why Proposition 8 was appropriately called "protect marriage."

I also like the adage: "Marriage is all about procreation and not recreation." Marriage was ordained for men and women to have families. If others choose not to follow God's plan, whether they're heterosexual or homosexual, showing love towards one another is possible without calling it marriage.

  • @MsEndure2end Wow, just wow. In one ear and out the other.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

She's not very smart, is she? As a former mormon, I can tell she's swallowed the whole brainwashing, hook... line... and sinker.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

I believe there is a right and a wrong. Doing my best to stay on the right path.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

I admire people who have the strength of character to stand up for what they believe in, and I respect opposing opinions. However, there's no need to compromise ones principles just to satisfy the world.

The world would say let consenting adults do whatever, be fair, be open-minded. God would say that we are created male and female and be blessed with families.

  • @MsEndure2end So what about people who are sterile, what about adoption? Gay people CAN have parents, so what if it isn't through the popular method. Also, I'm not doing this just to satisfy others, I'm doing this because deep down I firmly believe marriage is about LOVE! And I'm not going into an argument over who's definition is better because it doesn't matter to me. I only see it as fair for them to marry, because it's a damn shame not to be to satisfy one religion's belief.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

Parenting is not just the "popular method." It's the right one when it's only between a man and a woman, the only way to procreate.

  • @MsEndure2end *coughsurrogatecough*

  • @MsEndure2end Question: Can you give me a reasonable argument against gay marriage, that isn't religious? Just a yes or no.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

Ask her how gay marriage impacts the way she practices her religion.... I'll bet she's unable to answer.

  • @MsEndure2end Honestly it's Christians like you who don't even respect marriage at all! Why don't you go protest Atheist Marriage, or basically every other religion's marriage. You denying two people in love to marry is the biggest offense against marriage. I just love how strangers can deny people to marry, it's sick.

  • @1AndrewTheWolf

The Dark Ages were a bleak time. It's the enlightenment of the gospel of Jesus Christ that keeps us out of the dark.

  • @MsEndure2end

No, Ms Endure. Atheism predates the time of the Constitution by many centuries. The 5th-century BCE Greek philosopher Diagoras is known as the "first atheist". And the founding fathers, most of who were Deists, certainly knew about and discussed atheism.

Morals are determined by reasoning, rational discussion and philosophy, not some person's idea of what a god wants.

"Marriage is a lawfully protected religious instition"... false. It's a civil institution.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

God has dealt with rebellion since Adam and Eve, and He continues to this day, as we see from comments here. Yet He remains loving and kind, blessing us when we choose to obey His commandments. A good example is to obey and respect the law of chastity.

  • @MsEndure2end

Wrong again, as usual. "God has dealt with rebellion...." You see, that's your problem. You keep on referring to your beliefs as facts. Don't you understand the difference?

The only thing that matters is that which all parties can agree on. Since we don't accept your religious beliefs, civil marriage for all couples, hetero or gay, is the only fair thing.

Don't attempt to shroud your bigotry in religion.... we're not falling for it.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

When you cry "we" are not "falling for it", what are you referring to? Your attitude is questionable. Who is "we?" I'm not selling a bill of goods here, but respectfully offering my opinion.

It is not about "fairness" or individual rights. Marriage is about children, and stabilizing society, and the blessing of God's plan, which is basic to our creation as man and woman.

  • @MsEndure2end

You are selling a bill of goods, & it's rotten. It IS about fairness, & civil rights.

Marriage is not only about children... that's a recent invention. Since you claim to know your scriptures so well, you know that marriage in the bible was a property transfer (daughter) from one man to another. Nothing about children or stabilizing society. So as usual, you're wrong again.

Tell us all, how does civil marriage for gays impact the way you practice your religion?

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Marriage between a man and a woman is fundamental to the scriptures.

"Wherefore, it is lawful that he should have one wife, and they twain shall be one flesh, and all this that the earth might answer the end of its creation."

"For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh."

Gay marriage would sadly serve to destroy the sacredness of marriage, being in opposition to God's plan.

  • @MsEndure2end

You didn't answer the question! How does gay civil marriage affect the way you practice your religion?

I don't care about your religious mythologies, so stop quoting that crap. What real, everyday impact on you practicing your religion would gay marriage impose?

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

Gay marriage is wrong because it's contrary to God's plan.

  • @MsEndure2end

Wrong again. The question is, how does it impact the way you practice your religion?

If you're unable to answer, then just admit it.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

In quoting the scriptures to you, it becomes obvious that marriage is about families, and always has been.

  • @MsEndure2end

In quoting the "scriptures", you're not getting anywhere with me, because they're not the word of any god.

  • @TheKinderhookPlates

The scriptures are the word of God, the place where the idea of marriage was started.

The center of our religion is the family. God's plan of happiness includes families and must include the law of chastity.

  • @MsEndure2end

No, your scriptures are not the word of a god. And marriage existed long before the bible, so you failed on that one.

How does gay marriage impact the way that you practice your religion? Or are you going to be a coward and duck the question?
