To those that may have seen this game live, What did the ref do at the end of this video? Throw half the bench out? I didn't see this game live, but all I saw was the coach yelling, then the ref going to bench, pointing to the group then pointing "out".
its a bad foul yes, but thats a yellow card. its his debut so hes always going to be hot headed and the referee needs to teach him the boundaries of tackling in a professional match.
I souldn't tell, was that a straight red or a second yellow? Yes, I know it is a moot point. But if it was a second yellow, the call was justified. If it was a straight red, it was not.
DIOS
Ref thinking: Well. He's 17 years old. It's his first professional match ever. He's not last man, but I want to get a close up of myself shown in the news. Should I show him my red card? Hell yeah!
@bistoclonduff Most big teams around the globe wear the new jersey for the last few matches of the season, just not this year since it's the World Cup and the leagues are scheduled to finish earlier than usual.
it was a hard foul, but player wasn hurt and it was not in shoot-position..thats not a red card...poor player in his first game...he must feel so bad then
jajajajajajaja que ridiculo en su debut y le sacan la roja jajajajajaja malvado imbecil mira de bolas que el proximo puyol el bicho es igual de sucio que puyol mete patadas a los demas!!! jajajajajaja que imbecil

this referee is rubinos perez, he's from madrid and "anti-barcelonista".rubinos perez showed red car for this young barça player who made debut in this match. Marc muniesa only could stay 7 minutes in the match.
It's only a red if you take out the last attacker CLEARLY HEADING FOR THE GOAL...and that Osasuna player was obviously not heading for the goal, yellow at max
Rubinos Perez hates barça. Just search in Youtube "Rubinos Perez odia al barça" and you are going to see this is not a casuality, he's always manipulating our matches...
@Unitedpuma5 Seems very harsh with a red card here.. Only reason for a red is if the ref thinks the other player has a open chance on goal if he hadn't tackle him, but its so far up the pitch and to the side, that i think the ref got this call all wrong!
I'd like to have as much imagination as some of you have... Muniesa last man ???? Toure almost at same height but in the center of the pitch... the ball was not even cutting inside but taking an outside direction... no way this is a last man play, not in spain, nor in England, nowhere
last defender, he arrived late and hard, i mean Xavi is a very good player but does he knows something about football? i hate when they start to scream to the referee when theres no reason ! :s
I believe it is a red card. He was the last defender and he didn't touch the ball. Red card should be red card no matter who you are; Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi or Muniesa. So I think it's fare. Yes, it's his first game, and this way he will learn.
if your a barca supporter you should realise that he'll be a better player after this red card, if he was let off he wouldn have learned anything, if he does go on to become a great player he'll surely remember this as one of the most important games of his career
i don't see the point, I completely disagree... if he finds himself in a similar situation in the future, he has to do EXACTLY THE SAME, cut the play and get the yellow card preventing a posible goal situation... he has to play and take decisions considering a fair refeering
hows that the most deserved when he was miles away from the box, and wasnt even last man! look where Yaya is, and behind him is Gudjonhsen...if it would have been deserved then the deciplinary commitee would have supended him and they didnt...they decided to take it away
Si no habia pa tanto0, con una amarilla sobraba, pero bueno, gracias a eso se a echo muy conocido0!, me encanta cuando0 mi BoJaNiiTto0, le dice a el arbitro0 qe qe a echo!, So SweeT!!
this is not the point. Who care's his 17 or 30?? Refering has to be the same for all players ... the point is that you see plenty of similar situations in spanish league and only considered red card when last man and the opponent facing the goally... which is not the case no-way. NO red card because not last man situation, and not red card because clean faul not knee-height but floor
A good red 'feels' the game and understands that a young tyke like Muniesa, on his debut, probably full of adrenaline, can make a mistake. Everything shows the guy was not aiming for the player, but simply made a mistake.
So yeah, it actually does matter if one's 17 and on his debut or 30.
Muniesa is only 16, if the ref had a little heart, he would have given him a yellow! He's just a kid! I have a feeling, Muniesa will turn out to be the next Puyol in couple years time!
FAKE barca never gets reds!

Why not red card
1st it was not a real chance for a goal
2nd the rule with last man is red is stuipid
3rd He didn't touch the ball - right but we play football not volleyball!
footballfrog 2 years ago
1st true
2nd the rule might be stupid, but rules are rules
3rd the thing is that you can be as tough as you want to as long as you touch the ball first. If you don't, it's free kick.
Fernandinho46 2 years ago
Yes It's a free kick but red is very very hard.
