  • I saw UFO and Rainbow on June 5, 1982 at Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, WI from the second row, what an awesome show. Blackmore played guitar with numerous Heineken bottles. He then smashed them in the area between the seating area and the stage.

  • When I saw Rainbow in 82 in Russelsheim Germany, I loved thiss band , the energy and great musicianship, plus those eyes behind them. Made a great night.

  • ええ歌や

  • Joe Lynn Turner has to be the most underrated front man in the history of rock.

  • @dcf68 That would be Biff Byford from Saxon

  • @dcf68 I gave thumbs up for your comment, but it's funny how everyone says JLT is the most underrated frontman/vocalist. It's a contradiction that so many people say it. :-)

  • i got this dvd but it was a region 2 or whatever and i couldnt play it on my american dvd player. bull shit

  • This shit is awesome!

  • From what concert is this taken from?

  • @michmich1962

    Houston, Texas I think.

Saw this on VHS video many years ago and I'm sure it was recorded in Texas.

  • @punksachoo Thank you very much for the information : =)

  • the best guitarist of the world and the best epic singer of all time together...RAINBOW FOREVER!

  • I SAW Them in 82 KICKED ASS SHOW ..............

  • love it xx

  • I like pretty rainbow! iM STUPID!

  • I saw Rainbow do this # [Dallas] and the rest of the Between the Eyes lineup and they blew the house down.......

  • I thought Richie Backmore was one of the greatest guitar players in rock history. Thanks for correcting me.

  • >They were not that great. Neither was UFO.

That comment alone eliminated any legitimacy whatsoever you may have had in a discussion of music.

  • @doghousepiiman I dug this song twenty years ago And I am still playing bass...How about you?

    diger

  • @jdigerness

I got "Straight Between the Eyes" on vinyl when it first came out in '82, and this has always been my favorite song on it. I immediately started working on learning this on guitar. I'm still not as good as Ritchie, but I keep trying. :)

  • Awesome song!

  • Comment removed

  • It was!

  • Wasn't this the Straight Between the Eyes tour?

  • Yes it was,I saw in at New Haven Coliseum. Can't remember who toured with the,too long ago and too many joints.

  • It was Saxon that opened for them, at least in Norman, Oklahoma. But they rocked. JLT's voice kinda cracked towards the end of the show, but not real bad.

  • @drfreud65 whatever gave you that idea?

  • I was commenting on someone's wrong name of the tour.....I remember taping this off HBO.

  • Richie is in rare form on this one!!

    Thanks for posting.

  • This tour (or one real close to it) was available on VHS in the eighties. Can't fathom why nobody has posted Eyes of Fire!

(Don't ask me, I only got it on Audio!)

  • it is now out on dvd eyes of fore is not on it think your thinking of live at budokan tokyo

  • I must track down one Eric 'Gorgeous George' Evans whom doth possess the evidence. I am talking a release between 83 and 85.

  • fantastico

  • Dear stwla888,

Based upon your comment you have two problems: 1) Your thinking; and 2) you cannot possibly know "most" people.

  • I will say only one thing, two words: FUCK WHITESNAKE!

  • Blackmore has the POWER!!!!

  • I think this is the best song they ever did. I listen to this every time I need strength.

  • Bless you man. I feel entirely the same way. Power is a very uplifting song - my kids love it too for exactly the same reasons - great version.

  • I agree, drfreud65. This is one of their best songs ever. I LOVE Rainbow !!!

  • big thanks !!!

  • this is when mtv played real music

  • very true

  • You are totally right

  • Amen to that.

  • Thanx a lot for sharing. Huggies from Viv

  • This is the best version of this song that I've heard. Blackmore's lead really goes off with some sweet feedback. A little later in this show, he starting playing the guitar with a frisbee.

  • Was twelve years old when i went to this show with my sisters. Thanks for posting this brings back memories of how bad ass rock n roll was in San Antonio

  • Was actually at that concert my siters took me i was twelve years old. thanks for posting this brings back memories of when rock n roll was strong in San antonio

  • San Antonio use to be called the rock and metal capitol of the world. They tried to make it the tejano capitol of the world. Now they want to make it the country music capitol. I say fuck off! The people in SA will never give in to your fucking brainwashing. You can take your country music, tejano music and stick it up your ass. Long Live Rock!

  • Whats the name of this video/DVD ... it looks like a professional release

  • Rainbow - Live Between the Eyes Recorded in San Antonio, TX August 1982

  • I remember this was on a couple of saturdays on the MTV concert of the week I miss the days before if became a show about houses bling and spoiled 16 year olds

  • MTV was the SH** back in the day. When they actually showed videos and concerts. I watched MTV non-stop from 1981-1984. For me, '85 is when it started going downhill. Granted, I would watch the VMA's through the years...butnow those even suck. Especially this last one.

  • Love Dio, but Joe Lynn was better for R.B.'s RAINBOW.

  • The riff is really similar to Hammer To Fall by Queen!

  • I was 12 when I first saw this. Ah the memories...

  • Great tune. Too bad the audio's a bit out of synch.
