@danielfata7 i think the badass thing is that Dean Fertita did the guitar. I never knew anything about him before but after TDW i know he's as much of a badass as Jack.
If you owned your own jet you wouldn't be here talking shit. Nonetheless, I'm glad you don't. It's envious vile like yours, and mindless class-warfare zombies like you that constantly give FREEDOM and FREE MARKET economics, a bad name. If you don't like it, don't buy it, and save up for your own jet.
What?! can't afford it?! Then make/do something that people value!
Theres so much cool music out there, man am i happy that i was born at the time that I was, in the wake of the phsycadellic rocking 60's grew up in the funky and Punke'ed 70's, experienced the the New wave and Art Rock periode of the 80's, the Noise Rock era and Grunge wave of the 90's, the sobering Rock of the 00's and now it's the start of a new decade full of good music already from the start. Man - I feel lucky!!
Intro reminds me vaguely of The Doors playing Been Down So Long live in Detroit. Guitar comes in like a red devil and shocks every howling blues bone in your body. The electric church is still alive.
theres only a few bands where you can actually hear and feel the emotion and energy coming from them, most music now adays is way to processed. The dead weather, the wight stripes, queens of the stone age, cage the elephant, rage against the machine are all this way. we need more bands like that though. p.s. thumbs up for jack's drumming
I actually thought rock music was dying... but it isn't. It's just changing shape just like it should. Just listen to The Black Keys, Raconteurs, White Stripes, QOTSA, The Dead Weather etc. It's still going pretty damn strong.
Just fantastic. Glad to know that bands such as The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, and this exist... Thank you Rock and Roll. Thank you so much.
Just fantastic. Glad to know that bands such as The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Black Keys, and this exist... Thank you Rock and Roll. Thank you so much.
So are Jack and Jack going to do any more Raconteurs stuff or have they just moved on? I know that it's unlikely that there will be any more White Stripes stuff to come as the last I'd heard, Meg was having "issues" with anxiety while performing. I like Brendan Benson though, and think the Raconteurs could continue to be successful.
I'm not saying playing other performers music is wrong...and they did it well...but claiming it as their original work is fraud, and plagiarism. I'm not saying they weren't good musicians, they clearly had an outstanding command of their instruments, and like I mentioned, they did have some good originals, but they simply were not as prolific as the beatles, nor did they produce at the same level of genius. Not even close. Also, you are a fucking idiot and use a lot of fallacies. Good day.
@JayArpeggios Dude, you don't judge a song by it's complexity, okay man, some of the best stuff has been super complex and sup simple, jack white is the master of both, listen to the white stripes, some of the most simplest stuff EVER, yet the key is, to making it sound good. Sure i could go and make a simple blues riff like the black keys (who are awesome) but if there's no attitude to it, then it's pointless. Name another band that sounds like this?
The White Stripes, The Black Keys, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather.. Hmm.. 21st Century hasn't been so bad after all! And much more to come I hope.. :)
@jjr1295 thankyou...I am so tired of these people who say good music died in the 60's. Obviously I love the music from those days but there is still plenty of incredible music around today. To them I say, quit being lazy and look a little but....you will find it.
The first time I heard this I'd just put Horehound on my iPod and left it on shuffle. I thought it was an old PJ Harvey song that I'd forgotten about...Alison Mosshart, on this track, could be PJ of 15 years ago.
And that's a good thing.
The standout track of the album. Love her work in The Kills too.
fuck earth culture man. .. WTF! ITs bands like The Dead Weather, The white Stripes And The Raconteurs that have restored what music is to everyone that listens to them.
