Some promising improvements over X-plane 10. The autogen scenery is amazing - but it needs to easy to turn off areas so that custom scenery can be added easily.

Currently, FSX allows a better simulation aircraft systems and engines. As a flight deck procedural trainer it's great. But FSX is soon history.

X-plane 10 looks very impressive, and has some very interesting features. I think it has great potential.

Its been sometime since i used a Computer Tower, I gave it to my Son, i have used my Laptop for four years now, hey guess what? The graphics and amount of realism is impressive, though X Plane 10 seems to lack content (buildings, real city landscapes, etc)... I'll probably wait until a few updates have been made to X Plane 10. Hopefully by April/May it'll be good to go since that's when the new Intel Ivy Bridge CPU and nVidia 600 series cards should be coming out and that's when I plan on making a new computer.

No buildings at airports. Cities are sparsely populated. Requires super fast cpu. Its an $80.00 beta. Buyer beware.

What happened to flying on Mars? I can't find it in X-Plane 10.

Also, are more airport (buildings) going to be added, because landing at a runway with no building is a little less fun.

From a blogpost I've seen, apparently not all US lakes/ponds have been entered in.

Maybe Austin should hire a small team to create custom locations like Lukla, Saint Martin, and maybe the South Pole like McMurdo. It would surely be more (serious) fun!

I'm a fan of x-plane but flying through clouds (1:53) is nothing like that. The visibility drops before he ever enters, the opposite happens as he exits. You'll notice as well the plane doesn't actually go through the clouds, it's either visible or not. In aircraft as small as Cessna 172s you can cloud puffs going across your wing. The improvements are great but the claims are inflated.

@cessna18284 With all the add ons, FSX does look better than X-plane 10. But when you have installed some add ons for X-plane 10, than X-plane 10 is better.

@cessna18284 Default XP10 totally beats Default FSX in so many aspects, but with addons, FSX can be made to look similar to this. I'm an FSX fan, but imho XP10 looks absolutely amazing!

This video should have been edited to remove the repetitive talk, and the dead space of when Austin is waiting for the sim to load. Also add some subtitles! It's nearly impossible to tell what the interviewer is asking since he doesn't have a mic on him.
