2) They used parts of a the Panzergrenadier Lied which is a different version if the origial Fallschirmjäger by the name "Grün ist unser Fallschirm"

What you don´t grasp is that D Day didn´t turn the war...It merely advanced the ongoing process.
After Stalingrad, the Wehrmacht was in fullon retreat in russia, the German Luftwaffe has been slaughtered by the RAF and their radar warning systems, and the brits and some frenchies beat germany in north africa and where marching towards Italy.
The US greatly supported them, mostly with transportation capacitys and resources, BUT america didn´t WIN it all by itself.
