  • After 1991, acording to this vid, nothing big in American history happened until 2001 (hint hint, the internet, the greatest economy the world has ever seen, , Y2K, stock market crash, election of Bush, the recount, ect.)

  • why bush lot of cry whywhy

  • Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish

  • US HISTORY is nothing!!! only 300 yearsssss hahahahahh unlike we china!!! which has 5000 years of culture and history!!!! NO MATTER HOW GOOD AMERICA IS THERE IS NO WAY IT CAN REPLACE CHINA AND ITS HISTORY

  • @jackuy12345 It's not about America being good, it's about us defending democracy and freedom when other nations did not. It might be a radical idea in China, but freedom replaces years of historical Chinese tyranny and oppression.

  • What will it take to stop the Afghan war?

Cut off the funding, like Congress did for Vietnam in 1975.

Yes, Vietnam defeated the US,.. but the massive, collective, anti-war movement had mobilized millions to march

Some now say, only if anti-war candidates are able to get elected, will we stop the war machine by 2012.

JFK stopped the Vietnam war Oct 11, 63, with NSAM #263?

As a veteran of the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba, my life was saved by JFK.

    Youtube:: paul8kangas

  • @paul8kangas Vietnam didn't defeat the US, it may be a surprise but the USA won over half of the battles in Vietnam.

  • @Laproductionsvideos

True,We left it up to south korea.

  • @Laproductionsvideos Yeah, but the war was still lost; Vietnam is now one country.

  • Good a shitty slide show with no audio. Awesome!

  • um...it doesnt show how they aquired the land

  • They want world domination...if our system is so great why did we not think to put a 3-branch government in Iraq..instead of parliament like the Brits. It is not a better system of government..because parliament can be cancelled by the prime minister whereas 3 branch system holds equal power with definitive laws stating so to ensure the equality of power in government......

  • .but it only wonderful if we all work together and educate on racism, disease and everything else....but boomers dont want this..they want to hold on to power...and the Brits are to blame as well....

  • I think showing the diff faces of America is a better history then one that is dominated by pictures of unfiltered pride. America is wonderful because the makeup of the people..

  • America is very young country. It has got 300-400 years but now it's one of the biggest and strongest countires. I'm from Poland. In XVI century we are one of the strongest countries ia a world but it was long time ago...

  • I can't speak English very well but I think you can read this ;]]

  • who is singing?

  • Do anyone knows which songs their are played in this video ? :)

  • Sutherland Brothers and Quiver- Arms of Mary

Everly Brothers - Let it be me

    Nickelback- Far away

  • really nice video.........Great country. But I worried about England, Lot of fucking muslim people moving to England, England has to change their immigration rules. Otherwise God will save................

  • A great country!

  • the obssesion and envy that europeans had for ancient spanish was the main reason why europeans came and found out of the so called americas when europeans got to the americas they saw all the lands and wealth that indians and ancient spanish had and they started to die of envy so europeans truw the whole world to mexico and they toulk many lands thats how the u.s.a was form..

  • We are the oldest functional democratic republic, but there are reasons why the others hadn't lasted so long. The very emotion that was felt from this video is what is being threatened by our loss of soveriengty as a nation. This occurs due to globalization - that's a fact which is admitted by most colleges across the nation. Instead of strengthening ourselves, we involve the interests of other nations in our decision making. (UN, NATO) "Commerce w/ all nations, alliance w/ none" - T. Jefferson

  • i love america. we have our faults just like everybody else...and all nations make or have made mistakes...i'm proud to be american and will always stand by my country.

  • The best thing you can do to serve your country is become knowledgeable about history- that way, the next time your leaders try to lie you into a war, you will KNOW they are lying- and yuo will be able to do your patriotic duty- and SPEAK OUT!!!

    peace

  • The United States is not a country at all but, being federal, is a corporation.

  • that post is confusing- could you elaborate?

  • No, its not.

  • Federal, as in federation or league, refers to commercial entities and commercial contract.

The United States is the name of the commercial corporation hired by the States to perform 18 functions. The jurisdiction of the United States is 10 miles square (Art. 1, Sec. 8).

  • Poor USA, 300 years "culture" only. Looooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Not if you count native americans. They count as Americans and they have been around for thousands of years and their traditions and culture had beed blended into the American melting pot.

And besides, we have the oldest functional democratic-republic in the world. So in a way we are older than the rest of the world.

  • nah, i think china had the first democracy im pretty sure or meritocracy.idk

  • I should been more clear. The United States has the oldest democratic-republic (still in operation).

  • oh,ok that pretty much makes sense

  • our government is no longer a democratic republic. It shows tendencies relating closer to oligarchy than democracy.

read aristotle's 'politics'. It's all in there.

  • Why??? Let me guess, because of "corporations" right? Slow it down their Chomsky, are democratic republic is still fully functional (or at least as much as it was 200 years ago). Now if you argue that we never had a operative democratic republic to begin with than thats a whole other story.

  • well, certainly the consolidation of wealth has something to do with it. Aristotle addresses that- as does alexis de tocqueville. His book 'democracy in america' was published in 1835- he points to both strengths and weaknesses of our republic- our strengths were a HIGHLY diversified media system- and a politically engaged society- i think it's clear we lack those key elements of a healthy democracy.jefferson said-the purpose of representational govt is to curb the excesses of themoneyedinterest

  • So by the "monied interest" you mean wealthy individual citizens or corporations? Or both?

And how does a governmrnt curb the excess of the "monied interest" w/o serious infringing on the individual liberty so proudly touted by our founding fathers and described in our founding documnets?

Or was it like Jefferson predicted. That this government will cease to exist w/in 50 years or so of its inception?

  • You are asking important questions. Questions which must have plagued our founding fathers. It is extremely difficult to strike a balance between regulating businesss and infringing on liberty.

This is why while I have an easy time refutiating crony corporate capitalism- I do NOT know what to replace it with. I fear our society was only able to function so well in days gone y because of its agrarian nature- I fear we are lost and will never find our way- smoke'em if you got 'em

  • Aruba? What cultural history do you have, other than tourism? You're country(and I use that term loosely) just gained it's independence. The history you so called claim is the history of your occupiers.

  • USA and Isreal are the best! God has blessed America. Everyone around the world envy us. Our culture is young but we have rescued, given more money than any other country ever, period! They all want to move here!

  • haha I LOVE american patriots. Dream on. Both US and Israel are the target of terrorism, u torture people and per person America is one of the countries that gives the LEAST SWEDEN is the country that gives the most money per person. And we take care of MORE Iraqi refuges then the US and Canada combined. Check ur facts before you write next time. And by the way im going to America tomorrow! I completely disagree whit american foreign policy but I have nothing agenst Americans

  • It is a fact that Americans by far have given more money and helped more pp than anyone ever. We are the BEST along with Isreal...By the way we FREED THE IRAQI'S......My Sister lives in Sweden.....

  • I wish someone would tell the hundreds of thousands of dead and the millions of iraqi refugees that we saved them. I think they might disagree with that assessment.

  • people from the developing and impoverished parts of the world are flocking to ALLO industrialized countries- europe has as bad an immigration problem as we do- if not worse. If your argument is that we are better than darfur or zimbabwe- you win. If you want to argue insutrialized countries- the usa doesnt score very well.

  • This is a good video but I think there was way to much emphasis on the Iraq war. In a historical view point I think that the Iraq will simply be a foot note in the history books of the United States. Kind of like the War of 1812 or the Spanish American war.

  • i hope so

  • Point is that the Iraq war is fresh in our mind. But yes, in 100 year it's 'just' a foot note.

  • I'm not suggesting you shouldn't love your country; far from it, but love is not blind to faults. It embraces them and seeks to amend them. I have respect for your views. But you've chosen your views quite carefully so that you don't have to see anything unpleasant about the nation you are a part of. Striving to honestly see the actions of your people as they really are is the only way of achieving the Utopian ideal of nationhood that you clearly desire. Good luck, sir.

  • More extraordinary is the way in which you highlight the destruction and heart break resulting from of the events of 9/11 whilst omitting any images of the destruction done to Iraqi people as a result of US-led military (and especially bombing) campaigns carried out in Iraq. Genius.

  • An excellently sequenced collection of photos, and well sequenced music too - very slick. You manage to slick over quite a lot in fact. WW2 becomes a major chunk of your video, as do (inevitably) the post 9/11 military operations in Iraq, rather more than the more prolonged campaigns in Vietnam, which possibly don't show off the stars and stripes in such a star-spangled sheen.

  • "SAD", but great point. wish it weren't so. just look, for those deniers, at the globalization of America, servicemembers dying for the greedy corporate, globalist, etc.

  • I think this is very riduculous, your "american proud" make me sick hahahaha.

  • Remember the Serbs and the American were allies in both world wars!

Why is the USA supporting Nazi Croatia and the Albanian terrorists against the Serbs?

  • Luckily you glossed over that whole slavery thing, because if we forget it...then it never happened...right? (that's sarcasm for all you dumbasses out there) If you are going to talk about Amerika...don't forget her roots.

  • Dude, what do you suggest? When Africans warlords capture a town, they sell the citizen

to slavery traders. So the roots is that Africans murder each other out or sold them. So yeah, lets remember that kind of roots. (also sarcasm).

And watch the whole video, instead of being full of prejudices. Martin Luther King, remember.

  • Just because they (warlords) were sold slaves, didn't mean Amerika had to buy them. What if the union army sold the confederate soldiers into slavery after the civil war, would that make it right?

  • Look, I dont like the way of approach from your side. And thats a symptom I always see (well, lets say often). You have already an opinion before you watch the video. It's a tunnel view. And its always safe to play the victim.

  • shadup biiiiitch

  • did you try to avoid the civil rights movement pictures? and there was a picture of a few black people in the beginning in a real crummy house, im sure that was implying there existence in this country...

  • Your time in prison hasn't rubbed off yet so it seems.

  • americans are pussys

  • whatever

  • And Canadians have...maple syrup? Brave over the INTERNET aren't we?

  • i love usa!!!

  • america was built on blood and shame.

  • of imigrants remmeber

  • Name a country that wasn't built the same? There is no "peaceful" creation of a country, you moron. Stop being xenocentric and hypercritical.

  • fy fan va lamnt pallar inte ens se klart filmen. jävla amerikaner, bara ett pack med fattiga irländare och mexikanare,

  • Oh, btw we Americans could give less of a fuck about shit holes like you. Were better than you are...and I hope it kills you inside when I say that.

  • Were better than you are...

i can hear americans think from across the pond: "why do they hate us? it's because we're a free country, that's it. yeah..."

funny ass comment you made man, seriously.

  • Sorry your jealous of us and can't speak english, so don't try. Btw, a video like this has no room for political comments.

  • !liah geis

  • I agree with you about Bush

  • Turkey is full of chickens, get it? ;)

  • Learn English mine friend. I will pray for you. You have also the right to live in peace. Shalom.

  • Thank God Americans are far better than the uncivilized, dirty, and fithy Turks.......I just have to thank God that I was born in America and that i'm American....no one wants to be Turkish or be born in Turkey. That would be unfortunate.....

  • It's still a sick country.

  • And so is the Netherlands... ;P

  • You don't live here, your credibility is blown.

  • turkey sucks. everyone knows.

  • turks are pussies, they smell like ass, every european country you infest hates the very sight of you, if turkey disappeared tonight the world would celebrate tomorrow. maybe feel bad eventually when we get blitzed downtown and want to eat a kebab, but greek gyros taste better anyway.

  • cok gusel olmus seninkide

  • and who controle the businesses? the consumer. your logic may be partially true but in the end, the american owns america. not walmart

  • wow. that is so wrong im not sure where to begin.

So the consumers control the oil companies? the pharmaceutical industry? can you show me some evidence to back up this illogical claim.

dogs and cats living together- it'll be anarchy

  • You can love the idea of freedom and still disagree with how this country is run (run by the world banks and corporate empires living on destroying personal freedom while they execute their demise) There is a difference between AMERICA.. and Corporate controlled America.

  • Maybe you're right. But realize its a very hot issue on this moment (controlled America). It's nearly a hype to distrust the government and stuff.

Ok, some things aren't right, but I dont believe we got

to live in a land with evils who got the power.

And still the history is fascinating.
