great video but why you be dissing the dairy? Im still on the fence about most dairy but butter is a staple for me. I never have any problems with it and it is a great way to get lots of fat in me. As long as its raw though. All non raw dairy is a recipe for disaster. I think all cooked things are but especially dairy.
Awesome video - made me LOL multiple times. Every time I walk around the supermarket I see people making the same choices as the guy, and looking about the same. Most of it 'low fat' too. Way to go society. Anyways... wish I could hammer the Paleo idea into people's skulls, or magically get them to feel what it's like to be fully Paleo for a few months. They will never go back. But most people just want to fight the concept out of an egos formed around their own knowledge of nutrition.
@not801010 Of course though, I really think diet comes down to preference with humans as we can eat a wide variety of things. What you feel good on you feel good on.
@not801010 I don't have anything against paleo diet but just wanted to point out that not all kids love meat. My 4 year old chooses not to eat it and also dairy as he can't wrap his head around drinking cow milk..as he has only known milk coming from me and it doesnt make sense to drink something from a cow. I also know plenty of kids who do not wish to eat meat again once they know exactly what meat is.
@RichieFruitbat Unfortunately, almost none of the foods you have specified would have been available in paleolithic times. They are man-modified fruits that don't exist in 'nature'. Raw vegan paleo would have looked more like small, hard, bitter, seeded apple-type fruits, very bitter wild greens, fibrous tubers and a couple of varieties of small, densely seeded berries. Would have been really tough going!!
@Lakkhesis1976 Viva 2012! I tried to go truly Paleo once, but I couldn't find any wooly rhino steaks in the local supermarket, they were totally out of mastodon and giant deer too. Maybe if we were both living in stone age times we'd both be chowing on a megaloceros steak, but here we are in the 21st century. I guess we both have to move with the times eh?
@RichieFruitbat Oh you poor deluded man. Our DNA has not changed in the last 10,000 years since agriculture. Therefore.. oh screw it, there's no saving fruitcakes like youself. Go eat your 'with the times' TOFU, SOY PROTEIN, MYLKS, HYBRIDYSED SUGARLACED FRUITS, FAKE MEATS, PHYTOPLANKTON AND MAGIC MUSHROOMS while we eat a nutritious diet of delicious foods that don't require 8 hours of preparation and dehydration to eat and actually build our body. You will die slowly - HAVE FUN.
@not801010 My food takes approx 2 mins to prepare! Quite often it's literally grab and eat with no prep time whatsoever. Show me an organism on the planet today that isn't a modern hybrid on some level. It's one of the side effects of evolution. Technically we are all dying slowly (yes even you), but don't worry about me I'm having fun. It's only food for fecks sake. Happy New Year btw!
@not801010 You do understand that 80-10-10 folks eat none of that stuff but fruit and veggies, do you?
Besides, you don't even have to be raw to eat "real" plant foods. Many non-raw vegans center their diets around potatoes and other yams (which would have been around in paleolithic times), squashes, nuts, seeds, fruit, vegetables.
8 hours of preparation and dehydration? For what? Fruit and vegetables? Huh??? What the heck are you talking about???? Which food needs cooking? Meat does.
You're completely misinformed about this. Google "Wild and Ancient Fruit: Is it Really Small, Bitter, and Low in Sugar?" you will find a meat eating site, one highly respected by many paleo types by the way, and it will teach you that ancient fruit was indeed sweet, large and high in calories.
Therefore, the type of food we 80-10-10 folks eat today WAS available during the paleolithic. Stop claiming otherwise.
@mandalacolorato So, for 80/10/10ers, when Denise Minger effectively and thoroughly debunks the China Study, she's an uneducated moron who has no idea what she's doing and her blog is claimed to be totally lacking in credibility, but if she says fruit was sweet in the paleolithic era she suddenly gains credible leadership? I would be willing to bet money that the 'paleolithic' fruit she featured in her article have a completely different macro and micronutrient arrangement to bananas and dates.
@Lakkhesis1976 First, I never said that Denise Minger is an uneducated moron. I actually think that she is smart.
Second, make up your mind, either Denise Minger is competent and then you must admit that ancient fruit was high in sugar much like bananas and apples, or she is incompetent and then you must admit that the China Study is valid.
@mandalacolorato My mind was made up months ago: Minger knows what she's on about. Just make sure YOU don't 'cherry pick' her information.
Her take on fruit in interesting to say the least and well worth thinking further about. But again, I'm willing to bet that the fruits featured in her post have completely different nutrient profiles to modern bananas, dates, etc... irrespective of sugar content alone. She certainly doesn't imply that these fruits were used as staples.
@Lakkhesis1976 Denise Minger only showed fallacies in one particular study, she didn't prove that meat is safe.
Why should domesticated fruit be any more different from wild fruit than modern farm animals and mercury-laden fish are from their ancient counterparts?
And why shouldn't man, who has a sweet tooth and lived at the tropic, have used fruit as his staple or at least one of his staples? Was Mark Sisson there to say "don't eat fruit even if it's there and you like it?"
@Lakkhesis1976 Besides, if bananas are so completely different from wild fruit, how comes that gorillas, who normally eat wild fruit, can also thrive on bananas?
Besides, Denise Minger does use fruit as HER staple. While she does eat a little bit of meat, most of her food is fruit. So I believe that in her work on ancient fruit she was actually implying that fruit was being used as a staple.
@mandalacolorato You're arguing for arguments sake now, seriously.
Yes, domesticated animals are just as different to their wild counterparts as modern fruits are to theirs. Which is one reason why I, and many other health oriented omnivores, favour wild meats in my diet.
Please show me where gorillas actually 'thrive' on domestic bananas...
Mingers choice to include animal products in small amounts is critical to her nutritional status.
@Lakkhesis1976 You're right, I do tend to get carried away by the arguing. Indeed Denise Minger (who doesn't call herself paleo) isn't one of those "typical" carbophobic paleos I was talking about, and i wish more paleo folks took her examples. If you feel you absolutely need meat, fine (some people might need animal products due to flaws in their body chemistry), however, why not just give it a try and eat like Minger for six months and see if it make you feel better or worse?
This is retarded, go vegan. Look at all the fat paleo movers and shakers. If you think that the problem with the meat is that it is corn fed, or the problem with the milk is that it is not organic and pasteurised then you have rocks in your head. Milk is pus and blood filled secretions designed for baby cows ! It is as logical to drink the milk of a rat as the milk of a cow. If you think eating meat is natural go and chow down on the next bit of raw road kill you see.
Unnatural huh? I wonder why they called humans 10,000 years ago Hunters and Gatherers, and not just gatherers.
It's because we eat meat. Duh. And pay closer attention to the video... nobody here is for the consumption of milk. Looks like you're the one with rocks in your head.
@karinachabela Put a hamster and an apple in a babies crib. The baby will eat the apple and play with the hamster. Watch the film earthlings and get back in touch with your heart. Learn some compassion. Just because some hungry starving humans ate animals and each other does not mean we are designed to do this. Why not eat a negro ? I have heard black people are a good source of omega 3. And don't worry they do not feel pain when they die. Black people were meant for us to eat.
@justintonation29 Are you vegans still using the baby in the crib metaphor? It's old, and ridiculous. My 18 month old always chooses meat first when given the choice, and I give her the nice grass-fed organic fatty cuts. She is in amazing health and well ahead in all milestones. Show me a vegan baby that the same can be said!
Does she eat raw meat ? Does she salivate when her pet rabbit walks past ? You cannot refute the baby in the crib metaphor as you call it so you call it "old, and ridiculous". Next time try using some evidence.
@justintonation29 Not raw, just medium rare. And she did bite the nose off a goat at the petting zoo if that counts. Evidence? The vitality I can see. Now, please show me a single vegan child with vitality. No? I didn't think so.
@not801010 Ever wondered why you need to cook the meat ? Name another carnivore or omnivore that has to cook and disguise their meat before consumption. Humans do not find raw meat appetizing. Only freaks like Daniel Vitalis force themselves to eat raw bison so that they can get kickbacks from bison farms. Seriously people you guys are so disconnected from your hearts that you consider animals food. Do you want to eat your pets ? What is the difference?
@justintonation29 Meat has nutrients that plants do not. B12, RETINOL, D, K2, Cholesterol, DHA, EPA and more. These are vital nutrients. Please come back with an intelligent response when you can tell me how to get these from plants. GOOD LUCK, VEGAN.
@not801010 Come on, a troll by the name of not801010? lol. Who wants to waste their time giving an intelligent response to a troll? If you are ever up for an intelligent debate, there are plenty of people you can hit up. Durianrider is a good start. And it ain't in the youtube comments sections. That's for trolls to write good things about people's bad habits, where an intelligent response will not properly fit within the comment character limit.
@asnoethias In other words YOU CANNOT ANSWER THE NUTRITION QUESTION. Durianriders 'debates' are a joke. His 'arguments' are childish responses like "Mark Sisson is Fat" or "Sally Fallon is a Fat Cow". He has no biochem knowledge, no formal training and he cannot make a valid scientific argument. DR Is actually the Troll - That's the only reason people know of him. If you think I am a troll, go look at my videos, it has me in it - tell me if I don't look healthier than DR and I am older than him!
@asnoethias Durianrider a source for intelligent debate??? Are you kidding me??? Harley lies about his debate attempts. As soon as Nikolay nailed him earlier this year, he started making regular posts about how people like Vitalis/Wolfe 'refuse' debates with him, but it's bullshit. He never asks to begin with OR, in the case of Brian Clement, the debate gets organised and Harley goes out of his WAY to sabotage it by changing times, switching moderators, causing trouble. I know this for a fact.
Our bodies make retinol from beta-carotene found in plant food, K2 from K1 found in plant food, DHA and EPA from ALA found in plant food, D we get it from sunlight, B12 from bacterial activity in our exophagus, and our bodies make cholesterol as well.
Remember never to use that argument again, it's just plain wrong and misinformed.
@mandalacolorato Don't you tell me what to do. Those conversions are the bodies backup plan for when it does not recieve the nutrients in an absorbable form. Or are you saying nature is dumb? DHA from ALA is a joke. Also the conversion rate is poor eg 1 to 8 for A to Retinol. And your B12 argument? It's worse than Bro Science. How about you go study biochem and come back to me sweetheart. What the hell are you watching this video for when you obviously think that meat is evil.
DHA from ALA a joke? I can show you blood tests from raw vegan which show perfect amounts of DHA.
Retinol, it's really easy to get 8 times the amount of vitamin A that you need if you eat plants, on the other hand if you eat animal retinol you risk getting too much.
B12, even the Weston Price foundation who are as meat-friendly as it gets admits that in a non-sterilized world it would be possible to get the B12 you need without meat.
@not801010 Really, poor conversion rates aren't an issue because the plant forms of the vitamins are more abundant than the animal version. Without trying I get 20 milligrams betacarotene daily, that's 25+ times the daily requirement for retinol. And I get 1000 micrograms K1, with 1/10 conversion rate I still hit the 100 micrograms K2 recommended by Weston Price. As for B12, read my reply to paleoprimal which proves that our paleo ancestors never needed meat for B12.
@not801010 Oh and I get all of that nutrition from whole plant foods, not supplements - all I need from my normal daily foods without even trying (I calculated 2 kg bananas 2kg oranges 200 g spinach 200 g lettuce). And I never risk getting too much. You paleo folks on the other hands, risk getting a harmful eccess since your excess vitamins stay in your body and mine don't.
Finally, look for "Results of my Omega-3 Blood test just came back" on 30bananasaday and download the pdf there. Here's proof that you can get DHA on a raw vegan diet.
At this point I completely destroyed your arguments and I trust you will admit you're dead wrong.
@mandalacolorato You only destroyed your own credibility (or lack thereof) That's not 'proof' only proof on your incompetency. The body STORES DHA in body fat, that's why vegans don't die right away, instead the body slowly uses it's own stores (and hence maintains Omage 3 in the blood). This is not a building or sustaining state. Gotta put in what you pull out buddy. Ok, simple question for simple minds... If you can magically make B12 why are vegans deficient?
@not801010 Also on your Omega 3 'argument', It's like not drinking water for 2 days... I bet you still have water in your body, but does that mean you are getting enough water? No. The point is the body stores things to survive temporarily when its not consumed, just like you are 'surviving' now without meat. It will not last, you will emaciate. That's why virtually no long-term vegans are around (20+ years), especially males. The ones that are, look, excuse my language, like SHIT.
@not801010 Of course there are healthy male long term vegans, John McDougall comes to my mind, and Donald Watson who lived to 95.
It's up to you to prove that we can't efficiently convert Omega 3.
80-10-10'ers compared to general population get huge amounts of vitamin C which encourage the conversion, and their absorption of ALA will be greater as they get it from fruit and greens not flax oil which is often poorly digested, also omega-6 stops conversion and we get much less of it.
@not801010 Vegans get B12 deficient, so? B12 deficiency is common among meat eaters. It's caused by MALABSORPTION. It was first studied among meat eaters. Many meat eaters get B12 shots. See the book "Could it be B12" on the epidemics of undiagnosed B12 deficiency in the general non-vegan population.
@not801010 Also let me repeat: Weston Price Foundation (no vegans) recognizes that in a pre-industrial, non-sterilized society such as India food is full B12 rich insect feces which is how they explain why Indians don't die of low B12. The implication of this is that in a paleolithic world you could get B12 without meat.
So it's only fair that some people with poorer B12 absorption get supplements since modernity should fix what modernity itself caused with its hygienic practices.
Prove that you can't get those nutrient without animal foods.
Except for B12, there's no reason to think we can't.
The only one where there might be doubts is B12. Now, not only we have B12 producing bacteria between our lips and our stomach, but Weston Price Foundation says: "in India (...) the food is not sterile and there are huge amounts of insect parts and insect feces--very rich in B12--in the food" so you don't need meat if you live in a preindustrial world.
@newtofruit They are still being breast fed, otherwise they would be dead or close to it. How about this example - watch?v=34IL_KeOgCI Look at those dark circles and dopey eyes - It's child abuse!
@not801010 Absolutely. Had Christmas lunch with a bunch of babies yesterday, 2 of them weened and on solids. Both were offered a whole variety of foods and both knocked back salad, fruit, cooked vegetables, potatoes and chose fatty pieces of pork, ham and turkey first. The preference was obvious.
@Lakkhesis1976 'justintonation29' is so brainwashed it's unbeliveable. Kids love meat, it's fact. Sure they like fruit and all the other good stuff too, but that's the great thing about being paleo - you get to have the healthy nutritional variety, and aren't stuck in a restriction diet that controls your life. My vegan friend couldn't even conceive, that's saying something!
@not801010 Veganism, and 80/10/10 in particular, breed disordered thinking about food because the focus is on restriction and sticking to a rigid 'program'. All this goes out the window when you take on a more paleo/primal approach. Yes, grains and starches are shunned but when you have so much variety they're no brainers to avoid. You're right- the vegan mindset could generally not conceive of such an unrestricted menu: the restriction identity is lost, so who are they anymore???
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Lakkhesis1976 However, the typical Paleo restrict their food choices severely, because they've been taught to minimize fruit.
Fruit is not as calorie dense as meat so one meal of fruit needs to be at least two pounds, if you eat only two apples a day and are scared to eat more, then you aren't really eating any fruit.
And when your evolution-given sweet tooth tells you that you need something sweet, you think it's wrong to listen. Talk about unnatural restrictions!
There are some radical high-carnivore/full carnivore types who live on bacon and steak (usually also fanatical Crossfitters), but my impression of the standard primal/paleo eater is that there is a BIG emphasis on plant based foods, including fruit. The ONLY foods restricted in paleo/primal diets are processed/junk foods, grains and, in many cases, dairy. I believe it is thee who is misinformed.
If there are people out there who eat unrestricted carbs and call themselves "paleo" then I'm not talking about them.
However, I keep hearing warnings from Mark Sisson to restrict fruit. And also to restrict overall carb intake. And he says that you should go into ketosis which is supposed to be a good thing. Which you can only achieve by restricting fruit and carbs. When I browse paleo sites, I often read warnings like "don't eat fruit gluttonously".
@mandalacolorato Sissons carbohydrate 'restriction' is really not that severe. It's very realistic. But no, you can't gorge on fruit and stay within the limits he recommends, but why would you want to GORGE on anything? How is eating anything GLUTTONOUSLY a healthy choice?
Sissons recommended diet is NOT very low carb (VLC), but quite a sensible, moderate carbohydrate recommendation that would not get you into ketosis.
@Lakkhesis1976 Because "gluttonous" is a relative term. It really means that you listen to your own instincts instead of suppressing them. However, I do admit that I didn't read his book (did you read Doug Graham's?). He and his followers do give the impression that you should get into ketosis and/or severely restrict carbs. So please tell me, how many carbs does he recommend exactly? I suspect that by his standards, nearly all hunter gatherers today eat "gluttonously".
@mandalacolorato Sorry, but the average days diet yoyu listed - 2kg oranges, 2kg bananas, 200g spinach and 200g lettuce is volume gluttony.
Yes, I've read Graham's book. It is one of the most ludicrously under researched and counter-intuitive concepts I've ever seen in the nutrition world and that's saying something since I spent 4 years studying nutrition from 1999-2003 and have worked in the field ever since.
@Lakkhesis1976 Such a diet is not "gluttonous" because it comes natural. That volume is mostly water and we need to get in our body multiple liters daily anyways, eating 3 kgs of fruit is no more gluttonous than eating 500 g of dry food and drinking 2500 milliliters water. Fruit also moves through your stomach quickly unlike fatty/protein foods which sit there for a long time, so it's easy to get large amount without it being forced or impractical.
@mandalacolorato All this post illustrates is that you have lost all sense of intuitive eating: for a 'normal' digestive system, it is actually a very uncomfortable endeavour to eat 3kg of fruit, or 500g dry food with 2.5L water.
Relatively small amount of protein, fat and unipe fruit cause satiation even if your calorie requirements haven't been satisfied and even if your stomach isn't full.
Ripe fruit doesn't cause satiation unless either your calorie requirements are satisfied or your stomach is full.
Eating to satiation is gluttony? No, it's natural.
If you were eating 'economically', where the nutrient density:volume ratio was more efficient, you wouldn't be eating the equivalent volume to 30 bananas a day.
@Lakkhesis1976 You mean the nutrient CONTENT:volume ratio. Why exactly are we supposed to maximize the nutrient content:volume ratio??? There's no advantage whatsoever to a greater ratio.
You know what is that is both important and natural to maximize? The nutrient content:SATIATION ratio. Since ripe fruit and greens are less satiating their nutrient content:satiation ratio is supreme.
@mandalacolorato Sorry... So you're saying that it's better to have to eat a great deal more in volume to reach nutrient satiation than to eat less in volume to reach nutrient satiation?
If that's the case, we're on different planets and might as well stop here.
@Lakkhesis1976 We're just speaking different languages. By "satation" I don't mean simply getting the nutrients we need. I understand that your mode of thinking ephasizes the role of nutrient content in giving a sense of satiation. But you must understand that the sense of satiation (that is the sense that you have eaten enough) comes from many factors. For instance a very ripe and a semi-ripe banana have the same nutrients, but the semi-ripe banana gives more satiation.
@Lakkhesis1976 Here's another example. Try drinking a nutrient-deficient junk oil. It's very satiating but poor in micronutrients. Now do you understand that satiation is a different thing from nutrient content?
So in order to get the most nutrition you need to find food that is highly nutritious but NOT satiating. So you can eat more of it and get the most nutrition aka vitamins, minerals, and even calories (it's important to get enough calories).
@Lakkhesis1976 Satiation, not volume, is the factor that limits how much food you can get, so in order to get the most nutrients, you're supposed to maximize the nutrient:satiation ratio, not the nutrient:volume ratio.
@Lakkhesis1976 The comment "You speak as if there were a downside to eating a large volume of food. But there isn't any." has been misunderstood because I wrote it before having seen your comment that bigns with "sorry..." It was a reply to a different post not that one.
@Lakkhesis1976 Eating that volume of food is hardly bizarre since historical societies found it achievable, bananas are more calorie dense than the potatoes many European societies thrived on. You probably associate fruit with the feel of satiety that comes from eating the unripe fruit you normally find on the shelf, however most high-fruit eaters eat much riper fruit and believe me very ripe fruit is much less satiating and it just comes instinctive to eat larger amount.
@mandalacolorato The 'impression' you get re: Sisson recommending ketosis has nothing to do with him. It's a false representation given by raw vegan 'critics', particularly high carb low fat, such as Durian Rider. Again, read the freaking book if you're so interested in attempting to debunk him.
He recommends a 'zone' of 100-150g NET carbs for maintaining weight and 50-100g for weight loss. NET CARBS. Not difficult to maintain eating wholefoods, including fruit.
To me such a low amount of carbs is severely restricted, can be maintained only by eating unripe fruit which causes unnatural satiety, by forcing down gluttonously enormous amounts of fat, and by giving up running and similar types of activity.
Thanks for those numbers, I had seen those in paleo circles but hadn't realized they came from Sisson, yes I'll have to read the book.
One should listen to all views, not to "debunk" them but to learn the most.
@mandalacolorato Please READ Sisson's material before you critique him. He's really pretty relaxed and advocates high quality, fresh, whole foods from great sources with lots of variety, along with a healthy lifestyle.

@Lakkhesis1976 More generally, the Paleo mind is rigidly restricted because they ignore that pre-agricultural carb sources abounded, not only fruit but also tubers, roots, squashes. Look at modern hunter gatherers, they typically eat half their calories from such carbs. So much for the paleo diet being a faithful reproduction of hunter gatherer diets!
The only reason Paleos don't eat those carbs is because they rigidly restrict their food choices and the amounts of carbs.
@mandalacolorato But the ACTUAL paleo/primal material so often critiqued by 80/10/10ers advocates a wide variety of fresh, plant based foods as well as animal foods. You're mixing up extremist personal takes on the diet with what the material actually encourages.
I find it very funny to hear an 80/10/10er speak about 'rigidly restricting food choices'...
@Lakkhesis1976 I'm using that particular phrase because it's the one you used yourself to describe 80-10-10. My point is that every diet has its own rigid restriction, so 80-10-10 is no worse in that regard from the paleo diet. Personally, I don't avoid meat because of a rigid ideological mindet but because I learned through experience that it doesn't do me any good.
@not801010 My son prefers fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds over meat anyday of the week! if children were not force fed meat from such a young age they wouldnt eat it!
@newtofruit Then you are an irresponsible parent if you deny your son meat. My little one clearly wanted meat from my plate before I even offered it. Vegan parents believe what they want to believe, so they selectively choose the fact that kids also like fruit.
Meat has nutrients that plants do not. B12, RETINOL, D, K2, Cholesterol, DHA, EPA and more. These are vital nutrients. Please come back with an intelligent response when you can tell me how to get these from plants. Good Luck!
@not801010 Im sure your child wanted the nice clean seasoned meat you had off your plate..why don't you take your child to hunting or better yet a farm where they've recently slaughtered a cow and put that next to some fruit see what he/she chooses
@newtofruit She saw fresh steaks with dripping blood at the butcher and said "yum yum" Seriously. And when she sees live fish she says the same. It seems that even a toddler is smarter then vegans when it come to nutrition. I'm done with this pointless argument. You have obviously made up your mind due to moral reasons only. Please, go raise your son on a vegan diet, and when he gets rickets, dental issues, intelligence delays, then please don't tell anyone you didn't know. Best of luck to you.
@not801010 LOL Rickets is caused by a lack of minerals, found in abundance in ALL greens and fruits. And a lack of Vitamin D. So actually, an 80/10/10 vegan diet is the perfect diet to NOT get rickets. But thanks for your half-assed contribution.
@newtofruit Unless properly prepared (i.e.. carpaccio, steak tartare, etc...), meat is not generally eaten raw. Assuming that all foods we're 'supposed' to eat must be appetising in their raw, crude state is a flawed argument. A bloody, raw steak on a plate isn't appetising, but certainly is if seasoned and sautéed to perfection. Similarly, a bunch of raw kale hardly gets the tastebuds jumping, but steamed and seasoned with lemon and olive oil or butter and it'll get you salivating.
@Lakkhesis1976 Unseasoned raw greens are very tasty if they come from a mineral-rich soil, unfortunately most mass-produced veggies taste like cardboard, but you can't blame mother nature for that.
@newtofruit I want you to know I did the 80/10/10 diet for many months and only bad things came from it. I am writing here because people are now raising their kids as vegans for the first time and I actually care about this. Rickets is a good example, underdeveloped teeth, developmental delays and many other problems come from vegan kids. Once a milestone is not met, there can be permanent damage. How would you feel if your child had damage from this? Would you change your ways?
@not801010 Don't hate the diet for yourself doing it wrong! I don't know you but I don't believe you followed the diet dilligintely, My son got all of his teeth early, walked early, started talking and knew his abc's all at an early age. If you care so much then you would know that Type 1 diabetes has been linked to children drinking cows milk at such an early age. My sons Doctor told me not to feed my son dairy at all. MANY problems come from meat eating children. If my son had
@not801010 problems of course I would supplement his diet but he doesnt and I still would not feed him meat or dairy the consequences are to grave, even if eating meat was healthy the impact it has on the enviroment, the way the animals are treated are enough to be vegan!

@not801010 I tried low-carb and horrible things came from it. I lost all my muscles and was about to die. And I was eating as much as I could from healthy foods (don't know if it was technically paleo because I hadn't heard about paleo at the time, but it was close). I'm being honest. People who have excess weight to shred and low calorie consumption might survive on those diets but for those like me who tend to be underweight and need calories, it's deadly. I'm thriving on 80-10-10.

@not801010 As for your experience on 80-10-10, most newbies fail for one of those two reasons:
1- were you counting calories making sure you were getting enough? it's easy to undereat accidentally when you're new to fruit, then you won't be getting enough protein or other nutrients.
2- was your fruit ripe? All the fruit you see at the store is always unripe on the self, so you need to learn how to ripen it at home. 80-10-10'ers have different standard for ripeness.
@Lakkhesis1976 You think I've been a raw fooder all my life? No I don't think so. Meat was shoved down my throat for as long as I can remember and I remember being in first grade telling people at lunch that meat was disgusting and telling my parents the very same thing but meat was shoved down my throat, I ate it or I was punished. It wasn't until a year ago when I became a raw fooder and common sense before that told me my son was way to young to eat meat or drink from a cow.
@newtofruit With all due respect, it sounds like your newly embraced dietary stance has both largely influenced your memories of childhood and your decision making for your son.
@Lakkhesis1976 No you are completely wrong there, I have a great memory! Most my friends remember me telling them that meat is digusting and we shouldnt be eating meat, my brothers remember me being grounded if I didnt eat the meal that was set in front of me. I know how my son reacts to meat and how he reacts to plant foods.
@Lakkhesis1976 My son ate like me until my husband came home and started forcing meat down his throat. now my husband is gone again and my son chooses fruits and veggies over meat. So it has nothing to do with me being a raw fooder but everything to do with what my son prefers. and my son prefers a green juice over a glass of cows milk
@newtofruit Again- all due respect, but I find that hard to believe. Are you offering him whole, raw, organic, grassfed milk? Is the 'green juice' heavy on the apple and nice and sweet?
@Lakkhesis1976 No the green juice is not heavily sweet I put a bunch of kale one apple celery one carrot..thats the main one we use. No I've never fed him grass fed milk, I won't lie to you about these things, I have absolutely nothing to gain from it
@newtofruit OK. It doesn't surprise me that he would be averse to commercial dairy. Children are similar to animals in this way. Their lack of 'psychology' about foods makes their nutritional instincts much more accurate. My cat won't drink commercial milk, barely even sniffs at it, but put a saucer of raw, whole, grassfed milk in front of her and it's gone in a minute.
@justintonation29 I'm sure that's the case, but put a chicken drumstick, a soft-boiled egg or a pat of butter into that crib with the apple and which will it eat? It's a no brainer.
I love all these paleo people thinking they are hunters as they pick up slabs of meat from their supermarket and order supplements from Sisson, Wolf et al. I would for once just love to see a paleo person go and kill an animal. And justify that they need to do this for their health. lol.
@justintonation29 Here's a revelation for you: I don't supplement. In fact, most paleo/primal inclined eaters I know don't supplement. The folks that buy the products are usually SAD eaters who are 'fad dieting' on Sisson's program, and Wolfs major client base are raw vegans. The 'kill the animal' argument is also meaningless for a number of reasons.
@justintonation29 Heart disease? HAHAHA I just got blood tests back after being paleo for a long time, and perfect as usual. A few bonuses is I don't need to Inject B12, I actually have muscle mass, and my diet is enjoyable, and it does not control me like it does you being vegan. And I get to eat steak! You get to eat tofu and lettuce and bananas and poo all day like a monkey.
@justintonation29 You'll feel truly liberated if you expand your nutritional and ethical knowledge about food beyond the demented limitations of Durian Rider.
@Lakkhesis1976 You'll feel truly liberated if you expand your nutritional knowledge beyond the demented limitations of Mark Sisson and start eating the carbs he forbids. Such as, you know, multiple pounds of fruit. Or maybe yams and roots. Which present day hunter gatherers do eat in massive amounts.
The commercial focuses on negative things too much. I think this commercial should be focused more on the positives that a Paleo/Primal lifestyle has to offer.
you dont need milk or eggsheles to get some calcium, if it is alive its fucking loaded with calcium. if you eat food from a cardboard box, you need milk. LMAO
I posted a response earlier today but it was only from my phone so maybe something broke!
Thanks so much for this fantastic video - it sums things up so well and I think delivers a powerful method very concisely and effectively!
I am not a huge meat eater due to ethics, but I thoroughly agree with the paleo approach with regards to the harmful effects of a huge number of neolithic foods.
So well done and thank you, I'll be showing a lot of people this in future I think!!
You get enough calcium from vegetables (like broccoli) than you need. Calcium pushers in the dairy industry lead us to believe we need more than we do.
Please have faith! We are a privately owned Corporation, no government involvement, and if you're not 100% on board with the ideals of this company, you can't get in! We are governed by paleo people, and paleo people alone! As a side note, I've been fighting corruption my whole life, kind of why I started the company ;) -Karen Pendergrass
eggs shells crush them and put them in a drink great source of calcium. Dont agree with pills personally. As you know most diary is fed grains and corn. Try buying grass fed diary or even Raw. Milk is the total immune system its so healing, this is the reason why people get a upset gut when drinking it as its pure protein. The trick is to do it slowly drink sips throughout the day and have it with a meal and not alone, getting your body use to it again.
@vahdaneh yeah seriously. I heard that about diary, too. I need it to keep my bones strong. I also love drinking it! Apparently it does more harm than good? What other alternatives are there for calcium in take besides pills, thanks. Please respond.
great video but why you be dissing the dairy? Im still on the fence about most dairy but butter is a staple for me. I never have any problems with it and it is a great way to get lots of fat in me. As long as its raw though. All non raw dairy is a recipe for disaster. I think all cooked things are but especially dairy.
SkallywagMr 1 week ago
Awesome video - made me LOL multiple times. Every time I walk around the supermarket I see people making the same choices as the guy, and looking about the same. Most of it 'low fat' too. Way to go society. Anyways... wish I could hammer the Paleo idea into people's skulls, or magically get them to feel what it's like to be fully Paleo for a few months. They will never go back. But most people just want to fight the concept out of an egos formed around their own knowledge of nutrition.

MsIrrevocable 2 months ago
I'm doing paleo! I just swap the meat and eggs for bananas, plantains, mangoes, grapes, kiwis, perssimons, dates, strawberries, raspberries, apples, pears, avocados, watermelon, cantaloupe, cherries, plums, figs, mulberries, and leafy greens.
Raw Vegan Paleo rocks!
RichieFruitbat 2 months ago
@RichieFruitbat Unfortunately, almost none of the foods you have specified would have been available in paleolithic times. They are man-modified fruits that don't exist in 'nature'. Raw vegan paleo would have looked more like small, hard, bitter, seeded apple-type fruits, very bitter wild greens, fibrous tubers and a couple of varieties of small, densely seeded berries. Would have been really tough going!!

@RichieFruitbat Oh you poor deluded man. Our DNA has not changed in the last 10,000 years since agriculture. Therefore.. oh screw it, there's no saving fruitcakes like youself. @not801010 My food takes approx 2 mins to prepare! Quite often it's literally grab and eat with no prep time whatsoever.
Meat does.

@Lakkhesis1976
Stop claiming otherwise.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato So, for 80/10/10ers, when Denise Minger effectively and thoroughly debunks the China Study, she's an uneducated moron who has no idea what she's doing and her blog is claimed to be totally lacking in credibility, but if she says fruit was sweet in the paleolithic era she suddenly gains credible leadership? I would be willing to bet money that the 'paleolithic' fruit she featured in her article have a completely different macro and micronutrient arrangement to bananas and dates.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago 2
@Lakkhesis1976 First, I never said that Denise Minger is an uneducated moron. I actually think that she is smart.
Second, make up your mind, either Denise Minger is competent and then you must admit that ancient fruit was high in sugar much like bananas and apples, or she is incompetent and then you must admit that the China Study is valid.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato My mind was made up months ago: Minger knows what she's on about. Just make sure YOU don't 'cherry pick' her information.
Her take on fruit in interesting to say the least and well worth thinking further about. But again, I'm willing to bet that the fruits featured in her post have completely different nutrient profiles to modern bananas, dates, etc... irrespective of sugar content alone. She certainly doesn't imply that these fruits were used as staples.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago 4
@Lakkhesis1976 Denise Minger only showed fallacies in one particular study, she didn't prove that meat is safe.
Why should domesticated fruit be any more different from wild fruit than modern farm animals and mercury-laden fish are from their ancient counterparts?
And why shouldn't man, who has a sweet tooth and lived at the tropic, have used fruit as his staple or at least one of his staples? Was Mark Sisson there to say "don't eat fruit even if it's there and you like it?"
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 Besides, if bananas are so completely different from wild fruit, how comes that gorillas, who normally eat wild fruit, can also thrive on bananas?
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976
Besides, Denise Minger does use fruit as HER staple. While she does eat a little bit of meat, most of her food is fruit. So I believe that in her work on ancient fruit she was actually implying that fruit was being used as a staple.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato You're arguing for arguments sake now, seriously.
Yes, domesticated animals are just as different to their wild counterparts as modern fruits are to theirs. Which is one reason why I, and many other health oriented omnivores, favour wild meats in my diet.
Please show me where gorillas actually 'thrive' on domestic bananas...
Mingers choice to include animal products in small amounts is critical to her nutritional status.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 You're right, I do tend to get carried away by the arguing. Indeed Denise Minger (who doesn't call herself paleo) isn't one of those "typical" carbophobic paleos I was talking about, and i wish more paleo folks took her examples. If you feel you absolutely need meat, fine (some people might need animal products due to flaws in their body chemistry), however, why not just give it a try and eat like Minger for six months and see if it make you feel better or worse?
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato I really don't think there are all that many 'typical' paleo people, as you define them. There are extremists on every boat.

If you think eating meat is natural go and chow down on the next bit of raw road kill you see.

justintonation29 2 months ago
@justintonation29 Are you vegans still using the baby in the crib metaphor? It's old, and ridiculous. @asnoethias In other words YOU CANNOT ANSWER THE NUTRITION QUESTION. Durianriders 'debates' are a joke.

@not801010
You're wrong.
Our bodies make retinol from beta-carotene found in plant food, K2 from K1 found in plant food, DHA and EPA from ALA found in plant food, D we get it from sunlight, B12 from bacterial activity in our exophagus, and our bodies make cholesterol as well.
Remember never to use that argument again, it's just plain wrong and misinformed.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato Don't you tell me what to do. Those conversions are the bodies backup plan for when it does not recieve the nutrients in an absorbable form. Or are you saying nature is dumb? DHA from ALA is a joke. Also the conversion rate is poor eg 1 to 8 for A to Retinol. And your B12 argument? It's worse than Bro Science. How about you go study biochem and come back to me sweetheart. What the hell are you watching this video for when you obviously think that meat is evil.
not801010 1 month ago 7
@not801010
DHA from ALA a joke? I can show you blood tests from raw vegan which show perfect amounts of DHA.
Retinol, it's really easy to get 8 times the amount of vitamin A that you need if you eat plants, on the other hand if you eat animal retinol you risk getting too much.
B12, even the Weston Price foundation who are as meat-friendly as it gets admits that in a non-sterilized world it would be possible to get the B12 you need without meat.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@not801010 Really, poor conversion rates aren't an issue because the plant forms of the vitamins are more abundant than the animal version. Without trying I get 20 milligrams betacarotene daily, that's 25+ times the daily requirement for retinol. And I get 1000 micrograms K1, with 1/10 conversion rate I still hit the 100 micrograms K2 recommended by Weston Price. As for B12, read my reply to paleoprimal which proves that our paleo ancestors never needed meat for B12.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@not801010 Oh and I get all of that nutrition from whole plant foods, not supplements - all I need from my normal daily foods without even trying (I calculated 2 kg bananas 2kg oranges 200 g spinach 200 g lettuce). And I never risk getting too much. You paleo folks on the other hands, risk getting a harmful eccess since your excess vitamins stay in your body and mine don't.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@not801010
Finally, look for "Results of my Omega-3 Blood test just came back" on 30bananasaday and download the pdf there. Here's proof that you can get DHA on a raw vegan diet.
At this point I completely destroyed your arguments and I trust you will admit you're dead wrong.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato You only destroyed your own credibility (or lack thereof) That's not 'proof' only proof on your incompetency. The body STORES DHA in body fat, that's why vegans don't die right away, instead the body slowly uses it's own stores (and hence maintains Omage 3 in the blood). This is not a building or sustaining state. Gotta put in what you pull out buddy. Ok, simple question for simple minds... If you can magically make B12 why are vegans deficient?
not801010 1 month ago 3
@not801010 Also on your Omega 3 'argument', It's like not drinking water for 2 days... I bet you still have water in your body, but does that mean you are getting enough water? No. The point is the body stores things to survive temporarily when its not consumed, just like you are 'surviving' now without meat. It will not last, you will emaciate. That's why virtually no long-term vegans are around (20+ years), especially males. The ones that are, look, excuse my language, like SHIT.
not801010 1 month ago 4
@not801010 Of course there are healthy male long term vegans, John McDougall comes to my mind, and Donald Watson who lived to 95.
It's up to you to prove that we can't efficiently convert Omega 3.
80-10-10'ers compared to general population get huge amounts of vitamin C which encourage the conversion, and their absorption of ALA will be greater as they get it from fruit and greens not flax oil which is often poorly digested, also omega-6 stops conversion and we get much less of it.
mandalacolorato 4 weeks ago
@not801010 Vegans get B12 deficient, so? B12 deficiency is common among meat eaters. It's caused by MALABSORPTION. It was first studied among meat eaters. Many meat eaters get B12 shots. See the book "Could it be B12" on the epidemics of undiagnosed B12 deficiency in the general non-vegan population.
mandalacolorato 4 weeks ago
@not801010 Also let me repeat: Weston Price Foundation (no vegans) recognizes that in a pre-industrial, non-sterilized society such as India food is full B12 rich insect feces which is how they explain why Indians don't die of low B12. The implication of this is that in a paleolithic world you could get B12 without meat.
So it's only fair that some people with poorer B12 absorption get supplements since modernity should fix what modernity itself caused with its hygienic practices.
mandalacolorato 4 weeks ago
@mandalacolorato You have no idea what you are talking about. Where did you get that shit in your head from? Harley Johnstone?
paleoprimal 1 month ago
@paleoprimal

Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago
@Lakkhesis1976 'justintonation29' is so brainwashed it's unbeliveable. Kids love meat, it's fact. Sure they like fruit and all the other good stuff too, but that's the great thing about being paleo - you get to have the healthy nutritional variety, and aren't stuck in a restriction diet that controls your life. My vegan friend couldn't even conceive, that's saying something!
not801010 2 months ago
@not801010 Veganism, and 80/10/10 in particular, breed disordered thinking about food because the focus is on restriction and sticking to a rigid 'program'. All this goes out the window when you take on a more paleo/primal approach. Yes, grains and starches are shunned but when you have so much variety they're no brainers to avoid. You're right- the vegan mindset could generally not conceive of such an unrestricted menu: the restriction identity is lost, so who are they anymore???
Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@Lakkhesis1976 However, the typical Paleo restrict their food choices severely, because they've been taught to minimize fruit.
Talk about unnatural restrictions!
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato But who are these 'typical paleo' people?
There are some radical high-carnivore/full carnivore types who live on bacon and steak (usually also fanatical Crossfitters), but my impression of the standard primal/paleo eater is that there is a BIG emphasis on plant based foods, including fruit. The ONLY foods restricted in paleo/primal diets are processed/junk foods, grains and, in many cases, dairy. I believe it is thee who is misinformed.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago

@Lakkhesis1976
When I browse paleo sites, I often read warnings like "don't eat fruit gluttonously".
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato Sissons carbohydrate 'restriction' is really not that severe. It's very realistic. But no, you can't gorge on fruit and stay within the limits he recommends, but why would you want to GORGE on anything? How is eating anything GLUTTONOUSLY a healthy choice?
Sissons recommended diet is NOT very low carb (VLC), but quite a sensible, moderate carbohydrate recommendation that would not get you into ketosis.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago 3
@Lakkhesis1976 Because "gluttonous" is a relative term. It really means that you listen to your own instincts instead of suppressing them. However, I do admit that I didn't read his book (did you read Doug Graham's?). He and his followers do give the impression that you should get into ketosis and/or severely restrict carbs. So please tell me, how many carbs does he recommend exactly? I suspect that by his standards, nearly all hunter gatherers today eat "gluttonously".
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato Sorry, but the average days diet yoyu listed - 2kg oranges, 2kg bananas, 200g spinach and 200g lettuce is volume gluttony.
Yes, I've read Graham's book. It is one of the most ludicrously under researched and counter-intuitive concepts I've ever seen in the nutrition world and that's saying something since I spent 4 years studying nutrition from 1999-2003 and have worked in the field ever since.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 Such a diet is not "gluttonous" because it comes natural. That volume is mostly water and we need to get in our body multiple liters daily anyways, eating 3 kgs of fruit is no more gluttonous than eating 500 g of dry food and drinking 2500 milliliters water. Fruit also moves through your stomach quickly unlike fatty/protein foods which sit there for a long time, so it's easy to get large amount without it being forced or impractical.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato All this post illustrates is that you have lost all sense of intuitive eating: for a 'normal' digestive system, it is actually a very uncomfortable endeavour to eat 3kg of fruit, or 500g dry food with 2.5L water.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 Obviously I mean over the course of one day, not in one meal!
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato 10 bananas, 3 times a day. Volume gorging.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 It's just eating to satiation.
No, it's natural.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato Hence my using the words 'volume gorging'.
If you were eating 'economically', where the nutrient density:volume ratio was more efficient, you wouldn't be eating the equivalent volume to 30 bananas a day.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 You mean the nutrient CONTENT:volume ratio. Why exactly are we supposed to maximize the nutrient content:volume ratio??? There's no advantage whatsoever to a greater ratio.
You know what is that is both important and natural to maximize? The nutrient content:SATIATION ratio. Since ripe fruit and greens are less satiating their nutrient content:satiation ratio is supreme.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato Sorry... So you're saying that it's better to have to eat a great deal more in volume to reach nutrient satiation than to eat less in volume to reach nutrient satiation?
If that's the case, we're on different planets and might as well stop here.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 We're just speaking different languages. By "satation" I don't mean simply getting the nutrients we need. I understand that your mode of thinking ephasizes the role of nutrient content in giving a sense of satiation. But you must understand that the sense of satiation (that is the sense that you have eaten enough) comes from many factors. For instance a very ripe and a semi-ripe banana have the same nutrients, but the semi-ripe banana gives more satiation.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 Here's another example. Try drinking a nutrient-deficient junk oil. It's very satiating but poor in micronutrients. Now do you understand that satiation is a different thing from nutrient content?
So in order to get the most nutrition you need to find food that is highly nutritious but NOT satiating. So you can eat more of it and get the most nutrition aka vitamins, minerals, and even calories (it's important to get enough calories).
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 And that food is.... ripe fruit and greens.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 Satiation, not volume, is the factor that limits how much food you can get, so in order to get the most nutrients, you're supposed to maximize the nutrient:satiation ratio, not the nutrient:volume ratio.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 You speak as if there were a downside to eating a large volume of food. But there isn't any.

@Lakkhesis1976 In 24 hours, 3kg of fruit, or 500g dry food with 2.5L water, is normal.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976 Eating that volume of food is hardly bizarre since historical societies found it achievable, bananas are more calorie dense than the potatoes many European societies thrived on. You probably associate fruit with the feel of satiety that comes from eating the unripe fruit you normally find on the shelf, however most high-fruit eaters eat much riper fruit and believe me very ripe fruit is much less satiating and it just comes instinctive to eat larger amount.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@mandalacolorato The 'impression' you get re: Sisson recommending ketosis has nothing to do with him. It's a false representation given by raw vegan 'critics', particularly high carb low fat, such as Durian Rider. Again, read the freaking book if you're so interested in attempting to debunk him.
He recommends a 'zone' of 100-150g NET carbs for maintaining weight and 50-100g for weight loss. NET CARBS. Not difficult to maintain eating wholefoods, including fruit.
Lakkhesis1976 1 month ago
@Lakkhesis1976

The only reason Paleos don't eat those carbs is because they rigidly restrict their food choices and the amounts of carbs.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago

Good Luck!
not801010 2 months ago
@not801010 Im sure your child wanted the nice clean seasoned meat you had off your plate..why don't you take your child to hunting or better yet a farm where they've recently slaughtered a cow and put that next to some fruit see what he/she chooses
newtofruit 2 months ago
@newtofruit She saw fresh steaks with dripping blood at the butcher and said "yum yum" Seriously. And when she sees live fish she says the same. It seems that even a toddler is smarter then vegans when it come to nutrition. I'm done with this pointless argument. You have obviously made up your mind due to moral reasons only. Please, go raise your son on a vegan diet, and when he gets rickets, dental issues, intelligence delays, then please don't tell anyone you didn't know. Best of luck to you.
not801010 2 months ago 4
@not801010 LOL Rickets is caused by a lack of minerals, found in abundance in ALL greens and fruits. And a lack of Vitamin D. So actually, an 80/10/10 vegan diet is the perfect diet to NOT get rickets. But thanks for your half-assed contribution.
somethought 1 month ago
@newtofruit Unless properly prepared (i.e.. carpaccio, steak tartare, etc...), meat is not generally eaten raw. Assuming that all foods we're 'supposed' to eat must be appetising in their raw, crude state is a flawed argument. A bloody, raw steak on a plate isn't appetising, but certainly is if seasoned and sautéed to perfection. Similarly, a bunch of raw kale hardly gets the tastebuds jumping, but steamed and seasoned with lemon and olive oil or butter and it'll get you salivating.
Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago 12
@Lakkhesis1976 Unseasoned raw greens are very tasty if they come from a mineral-rich soil, unfortunately most mass-produced veggies taste like cardboard, but you can't blame mother nature for that.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@newtofruit I want you to know I did the 80/10/10 diet for many months and only bad things came from it. I am writing here because people are now raising their kids as vegans for the first time and I actually care about this. Rickets is a good example, underdeveloped teeth, developmental delays and many other problems come from vegan kids. Once a milestone is not met, there can be permanent damage. How would you feel if your child had damage from this? Would you change your ways?
not801010 2 months ago
@not801010 Don't hate the diet for yourself doing it wrong! I don't know you but I don't believe you followed the diet dilligintely, My son got all of his teeth early, walked early, started talking and knew his abc's all at an early age. If you care so much then you would know that Type 1 diabetes has been linked to children drinking cows milk at such an early age. My sons Doctor told me not to feed my son dairy at all. MANY problems come from meat eating children. If my son had
newtofruit 2 months ago

80-10-10'ers have different standard for ripeness.
mandalacolorato 1 month ago
@newtofruit Having a raw vegan parent is HARDLY going to influence that now, is it?
Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago
@Lakkhesis1976 You think I've been a raw fooder all my life? No I don't think so. Meat was shoved down my throat for as long as I can remember and I remember being in first grade telling people at lunch that meat was disgusting and telling my parents the very same thing but meat was shoved down my throat, I ate it or I was punished. It wasn't until a year ago when I became a raw fooder and common sense before that told me my son was way to young to eat meat or drink from a cow.
newtofruit 2 months ago
@newtofruit With all due respect, it sounds like your newly embraced dietary stance has both largely influenced your memories of childhood and your decision making for your son.
Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago
@Lakkhesis1976 No you are completely wrong there, I have a great memory! Most my friends remember me telling them that meat is digusting and we shouldnt be eating meat, my brothers remember me being grounded if I didnt eat the meal that was set in front of me. I know how my son reacts to meat and how he reacts to plant foods.

@Lakkhesis1976 My son ate like me until my husband came home and started forcing meat down his throat. now my husband is gone again and my son chooses fruits and veggies over meat. So it has nothing to do with me being a raw fooder but everything to do with what my son prefers. and my son prefers a green juice over a glass of cows milk
newtofruit 2 months ago
@newtofruit Again- all due respect, but I find that hard to believe. Are you offering him whole, raw, organic, grassfed milk? Is the 'green juice' heavy on the apple and nice and sweet?
Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago
@Lakkhesis1976 No the green juice is not heavily sweet I put a bunch of kale one apple celery one carrot..thats the main one we use. No I've never fed him grass fed milk, I won't lie to you about these things, I have absolutely nothing to gain from it
newtofruit 2 months ago
@newtofruit OK. It doesn't surprise me that he would be averse to commercial dairy. Children are similar to animals in this way. Their lack of 'psychology' about foods makes their nutritional instincts much more accurate. My cat won't drink commercial milk, barely even sniffs at it, but put a saucer of raw, whole, grassfed milk in front of her and it's gone in a minute.
Lakkhesis1976 2 months ago
@justintonation29 I'm sure that's the case, but put a chicken drumstick, a soft-boiled egg or a pat of butter into that crib with the apple and which will it eat? It's a no brainer.

@karinachabela
I love all these paleo people thinking they are hunters as they pick up slabs of meat from their supermarket and order supplements from Sisson, Wolf et al. I would for once just love to see a paleo person go and kill an animal. And justify that they need to do this for their health. lol.
justintonation29 2 months ago
@justintonation29 Here's a revelation for you: I don't supplement. In fact, most paleo/primal inclined eaters I know don't supplement. The folks that buy the products are usually SAD eaters who are 'fad dieting' on Sisson's program, and Wolfs major client base are raw vegans. The 'kill the animal' argument is also meaningless for a number of reasons.

Steak, bleah.
Keep fighting your sweet tooth. I get to eat 6 pounds a day of delicious sweet fruit and you don't.
I poo twice a day and it's perfect and not smelly. Do you?

Such as, you know, multiple pounds of fruit. Or maybe yams and roots. Which present day hunter gatherers do eat in massive amounts.

eggs shells crush them and put them in a drink great source of calcium.
