awww your family is so cute!! (dog included of course) :D "honey she pooped i think you need to change her diaper" "thanks i got that on tape" :'D and your daughter is so clever for a 2 year old omg!! and your malamute is AMAZING :D love love love love love it :D <3
I'm really glad you clarified your comment! I know now you were talking to @pooonapiece. But actually I think you were too generous!... Any dog who'll rip a kid's hand off is probably no badly trained... It's more likely not trained at all!! And worse. I think you'd probably need to mistreat a dog to have it behave that way, don't you think!? I'd actually be nervous owning a pet like that!!
Don't know what video you were watching, but I saw a very gentle and polite family dog... There are always some people who can manage to find fault where there is none!
Have a proper look. They are dog treats. And before that a crumb from a croissant. Don't be so quick to criticize when you haven't done your homework!
i have a malamute and he is very laid back and content the same as yours but there is no way i would let my child tease him or kick him its not fair on the dog to be messed around with thats a very very well behavied dog and im sure u have done a great job with him etc but if he ever happened to bite or growl at her it would be the poor animal that gets blammed or something as parents can be provented.
This dog has a huge backyard to play in plus he gets a 5 km run everyday plus dog sledding on weekends in the winter. He's always mellow around my kids which actually didn't come so much from training as much as it's just a characteristic of the breed. His tail is only up when he's walking, trotting, running, or excited. When he's in the house his tail is always down.
What is it with nit-pickers on here!?! Give a person a break and enjoy a clip once in a while without getting on your high horse!! ....The dog is amazing looking. I want one that colour!!
Every dog has it's mellow moments, nobody can be active all the time. But Malamutes are active when they need too, but energetic most of the time. Also, if you look at the tail, it was down, like a wolf's tail. He didn't seem very "fond" of the biscuits either. That's not good signs.
When malamutes are happy their tails are up, and they are energetic, he was just slouching. It's also common for Malamutes too loose their appetite when unhappy, they even starve themselves some times. And as I said. He didn't seem to fond of those biscuits.. Maybe they didn't taste good? I don't know, but you could kind of feel his "slouchiness" if that's even a word.
His lack of happiness might be because he is living inside (I'm assuming that's what he does) Malamutes are supposed to live/sleep outside, they like it, even if you feel bad for them. They love it. Obviously they will need shelter, nobody likes rain.
Malamutes are VERY social though, they absolutely love people. And they fact that they should live outside, doesn't mean that one shouldn't be in contact with them every day.
@pinglauwa Obviously.. His behaviour could come from his 'raising' and training.
The way he behaves and tolerates her holding the biscuit in front of him with out grabbing it right out of her hands. But he still lacks the energy, and the tail up. which is the very sign of them Malamutes being happy.
I really think you should get "yard" for him, outside. If it's not too late.

she's not really kicking the dog, shes just touching it with her feet, there was no force behind that "kick" I've seen kids do it before. Very well behaved dog though.
you would throw a two year old out? shame on you.she didnt kick him she just touched him with her feet okay maybe it doesnt look that way but little kids dont know any better.very well behaved dog though
These do seem to be pretty well behaved dogs, a friend of mine has 3 of them and all of them are good as gold, have their hyper moments but good around his kid, possibly just a trait of the breed.
a lot of the inuit people, like the japanese did with the akita, used to leave their children in the care of a malamte.theyre incredible like that.i am lucky enough to own both these breeds
I'm hoping to 1 day get a Malamute or a Huskamute once I get sorted, currently attempting to join the army so not a great time for me to get 1. I will do eventually though because I love this breed, they are so funny and good company
What a great dog!!just waiting there !!cute cute cute
