  • he wasn't gonna record a song which had been a hot for Cliff Richard now was he guys

  • Gotta luv Elvis ! What a fucken VOICE !

  • WHY DIDN'T ELVIS PERFORM THIS SONG?

  • @everhard1000 I Honestly do not know. Had been a success.

  • @everhard1000 it was copyright you could perform it but you couldnt market it. double market is never a good move for any song!

carl perkins had blue suede shoes and dolly parton had > i will always love you whitney come to mind?

  • @everhard1000 royalties are more lucrative than a shite version even it you penned and sang it

  • What's all this about ripping off someone's music?

This was just playing the piano and singing at home... it wasn't a recording session... he showed no signs of even wanting to record it. Just like one of us playing around with a musical instrument and singing in our own home. Not better or worse than anyone's "version"... it wasn't a "version"

  • @jennytmaher Yes You're right

  • I CANNOT belive i am saying this, but Cliff's version is may better than Elvis'

    WOW!

    Mikey x

  • @mikeystrafford Cliff's version was made in a studio. This was made in Elvis' house, when he was in the army. He was singing with his friends. You can not compare the 2 versions. Also Cliff Richard's version is a cover. The original was by Billy the Kid recorded & released Feb 1959. Cliff Richard's version was recorded April of 1959.

  • elvis may not could pump the ivories as well as jerry lee but he did a great job on Apron Strings & its a cool song.

  • Oh what a pleasant surprise! Thank you SuperElvis09, I am too an Elvis fan. Elvis Forever!

  • stupid comments below aside, it's good to hear Elvis having fun - and that's all it's really about - I assume that's him pumping the piano. Elvis Forever, Dian

  • he was ripping off cliff you prick

  • @brutality15 Yes you can convert to mp3 using Force Download in internet without download to you pc is free program

  • The original of this was by Billy The Kid on Kapp in 1959, check out Curtis Hobock's demo for Sun, it's on youtube as well! Elvis is not covering Cliff!

I really do love the people who talk about when rock n roll died. The last "authentic" sound wise is probably Jerry Jaye's My Girl Josaphine on Hi in 1967! You need to know a lot more about this subject before making silly comments!

  • WONDERFUL !!! Was it ever recorded on disc ?

  • @everhard1000 This was exactly the one on the cd Elvis in a Private Moment which contain home recordings that I think Elvis did while he was in the army.

  • bbeautiful, thank you

  • One of the few songs Elvis covered from Cliff.

  • One of the "few"? Which others did he cover?

  • I gotta know.

  • @tyzos I think this was the only one Elvis did a cover on a Cliff song, while Cliff recorded so many Elvis songs.

  • mis preferencias son CLIFF RICHARDS

  • TK. U !!!

  • did he play the piano?

  • "Crap! Rock and Roll died with Bill Haley. Most of us can all sing! "Well I can!!! Elvis was. Cliff is. Yours truely...

  • Thanks so much for posting this!!! Fantastic, wish he did a studio take!!! Incidentally 1st verse:

Its good to be free, like a wandering breeze

To come and to go, whenever I please

But honey your love is clippin my wings

Cause I wanna be tied, tied, tied, tied, tied to your apron strings. 3rd verse:

Im crossing my heart and Im telling no lies

So open your arms, and close your eyes

Im stickin real close, like ivy that clings

I wanna be tied, tied, tied, tied, tied to your apron strings

  • Super Super Super 100 strs,my friend.

  • Sorry for the Bad Sound

  • Super sound super song,my friend.

    Thank you very much.

  • @SuperElvis09 It's only a home recording, so that was the reason for the bad sound, and Elvis was not so serious in singing this song, but anyway, anything Elvis sang was good enough for us fans
